How true this could be? Lot of people where speculating before that there is going to be altcoin season after bitcoin created the ATH, with hope of seeing it crossing that zone lot of people ventured into accumulating altcoin with the hope to venture into altcoin season fully without knowing that things doesn't actually works the way we think it would be. Now that the year is actually coming to an end do you still have this strong fate and believe that we would still experience the altcoin season this year or next year?

What do you think, are going to experience the altcoin this year or next year?

The market has really changed in different ways. Many were looking in the wrong direction, expecting to see altcoins do 100x before they will say, 'Yes, this is altcoin season.' If a few months ago, when most altcoins at least saw back there previous all-time high, can't be considered to be altcoin season for the year 2025, then we will have to be patient for the next circle before anything like that happens to altcoins, as I don't see 100x coming to altcoins in the new year, which is just 2 weeks from now.

After Bitcoin lost price and started heading into a bearish season, investors became pessimistic on a possible altcoin season to happen. That is what the market is showing us at the current moment, so I guess they are right. Altcoins always follow Bitcoin's tendency. If it's a bullish tendency, you may expect altcoins to rise in price as well, but if it's a bearish tendency, you should be waiting for a crash in altcoins niche too.

That is what I've observed in crypto market so far for several years already. Speculators must be attentive to another niches of financial market right now, and that is what we should be trying to identify, instead of insisting on the repetition of previous hypes around altcoins.

I actually agree with the opinion that there won't be an altcoin season like before.

First, altcoin is different to each other, some are just defi projects with the need of revenue to support its coin and some are highly utilized alts like Ethereum. Majority of altcoins that fall into first category usually need to compete with new projects since creating these defi protocol is easy therefore fragmented liquidity. FYI, so many defis with coins out there generating revenue not more than $100 daily and that's pretty bad.

Second, new coins come up like literally every day while money in the market is finite. People like rotate and abandon the older project that they consider already have no potential. Project like TIA, OSMO, and any non EVM blockchain is literally getting abandoned right now. I don't expect there will be any altcoin season anymore for them except if miracle happens like what happened to XMR and ZEC.

If there will be an altcoin season you need to be very sure to choose the coin that have the narrative. Could be perp dexes, could be a big L1, could be anything. The pump just don't trickle down anymore to lesser and older projects.

Look at how the market moves it doesn't align with the sentiments of people now. To many changes happen and I guess everything has been dragged by Bitcoin dominance that's why we didn't see the altcoin season happened this year.

Also no chance that it will happen now its because there are few days left before we end up 2025, but maybe next year there would be some good test and we could see the whole altcoin ecosystem would undergo in that phase. So let's see if this market condition would really come since for sure many people really want this to happen.

There is always an alt season, but some people never realized it, they thought alt season is still far or maybe the next year without realizing it is already begun and they failed to realize it, sometimes you need to be cautious of the surroundings, stop looking at your holdings but look at other altcoins move because you might be looking at it in a wrong way, some of your holdings might not move because its already dead, better look for the top altcoins in the market for a signs.

Oh the dreaded cycle, but this time it's very different that's why we haven't at least see a altcoin season. Only few coins have a good increased this cycle and it didn't involved ETH. But who knows, perhaps we could just remain positive that maybe we might see some semblance of altcoin season next year.

But it looks bleak to be honest, so for me it's better to accept the fact that maybe we won't see it this cycle. So that we can adjust our strategy on our holdings or just DYOR on which coin we should invest in the next season.

The altcoin cycle is indeed eagerly awaited, but in the current phase, altcoins seem difficult to detect. What I mean is that the market now tends to be more dispersed in terms of liquidity than in previous cycles. The arrival of new innovations such as AI, RWA, ZK, and many more, coupled with the more aggressive dominance of BTC and ETH, has kept large investors focused longer than expected. Hopefully there will be room for altcoins to take over by the end of this year, but considering the relatively short timeframe of less than two weeks, 2026 is likely the ideal momentum.

The market is sluggish as it is difficult to look forward to the altcoin season especially some people say it will enter a bear market so many altcoin prices fall deeply and the peak of altcoin prices is best in 2025 --- after that there is a lot of decline.

My prediction in 2026 is not sure there will be an altcoin season, in fact there will be a worse decline due to bitcoin falling below $80K later, the sentiment of the altcoin season is now declining and not as strong as it used to be.

I will agree with those people who said we won't experience altcoin season again because the market behavior have shown remarkable shift from what we used to know. If you are asked to explain why we did not see the peak of the market in the last quarters of 2025 like we had other cycles, what will you say? You can see why altcoins season that normally follow the bull season might have just ended due to the change in the market. The market will rise and fall when it wants to but it will no longer follow the predictable pattern we are used to.

What coins/tokens are there worthy hyping this time round?

In the previous bull runs we had ICOs, IEOs, STOs, NFTs, DeFis, Memecoins… this time round I see nothing. Totally nothing. The Solana memecoin crazy is just a cesspool of garbage and I don't think people have any much higher appetite for potential rug pulls anymore

Anyone can specualte the future of the market, but what we must not do is to make a certain standing statement such as using words as (never or will) this word's make a concluding statement about a market that is still growing like altcoins market, we will definitely see a new coin that can do extremely well in the future that could make a multiple altcoins season to be recorded again not just once.

The market is just not anyone's friend so it generaly does not move the way a lot of people expect it to, when altcoin eventually grow a bit faster than bitcoin then it is seen as altseason and many people actually thought it will just happen as soon as bitcoin hit a new all time high, due to past cycles but this crypto ecosystem can be very unpredictable, but so many people are still optimistic that the altseason will soon happen, perhaps early 2026but no certainty, so lets wait patiently and see how the market movement is, coming 2026

I agree, the market today is so different compared to previous halvings or bull runs. We’re really seeing how aggressive the crypto market has become, honestly. But it has come such a long way. It's so hard to tell in this specific bull run if it’s actually 'altcoin season' or not.

I think most of us here have almost given up hope that an altcoin season will even happen at all. Because the altcoins we knew before was obviously we will notice it for sure but this time is not, ang that's the problem now.

We already did, this was it. We are not going up again, what we had so far was the thing that we consider as altcoin season. I understand it may not be a lot, and I understand previous ones were higher, but what we had was the one we are going to get and we are going to go into bear market now.

I understand it may not be the thing that we want but the reality is that we are not going to see it go up anymore. Because, people were afraid of scams and hacks so they did not invested into altcoins as much as they did in the past and this bull run wasn't that much higher like the previous ones.

Everyone is truly in a black, we don't know if the altcoin season has come and gone or still a while ahead. Some say they already experienced altcoin season while many also including myself, isn't sure of anything going on in the market, all of these are just personal speculations on the market, until we start heading towards heavy fall and conclude that the bear has happen, our speculations are still limited in contrast to the actual truth.

I think many of our peers here have already accepted that altcoin season is over, even though there are still others hoping that it will still happen
if we just wait a little longer.

As for me, whether it has ended or not, what I will do for now is simply continue with the DCA method I'm doing
with other cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin.

We are just having few days left before this year is going to end, I don’t think we going to be experiencing Alt season this year anymore. Alt season is not what’s going to happen within a day, different coins will be pumping gradually, actually it might start gradually this year, then it’s going to continue by next year, but from bitcoin price movement, I don’t think alt coins are going to be pumping for now.

If bitcoin price is dump, don’t expect alt coins to pump, bitcoin dominate the market, so if bitcoin is dumping, then altcoins are going to be dumping also. The only time which I know that altcoins are going to be pumping is when bitcoin price is pumping, or maybe bitcoin price is stable at a particular price, but if bitcoin is dumping, altcoins will be dumping also. I don’t really know when altcoin season will be, and I know nobody knows that.

Don't you think that reality is the other way around with what you said, Bitcoin have always been the major market propeller for a long time now, most of those times that altcoins have their all time highs market recorded, Bitcoin was the frontrunner for them to see that market lip, in this way too Bitcoin will definitely be the main driving force to the next altcoins season.

It was and is like that, but where liquidity will go when BTC DOM finally rests down? ;D Smart money will go the other runners.

Each time it may happen differently, but at the end of the day, alts have their time to shine too, and with big caps, we can just wait it out the same we do on cycles with BTC.

In the analysis of market indicators you will always see the price behavior of altcoins in line with Bitcoin. But I am continuing to buy from the current dumping phase. I am pretty sure that altcoin season will start soon. There are many lessons for new investors in the changing behavior of the market. The top alts crossed ATH just a few weeks ago but with the fall of Bitcoin price most of them have fallen and are crossing the dip for buying.

Even at the end of the year, there is no doubt that Bitcoin price growth is increasing among investors, which means that bullishness may start at the same time. I think for altcoin experience we should mostly rely on Bitcoin price and continue to buy more during bearish periods in the hope of getting high profits.

Unfortunately current market is different. When bitcoin cools down, altcoin cools down too. Just compare the chart of altcoin market cap to bitcoin. The chart always resemble each other for this past 1 year except that altcoin is underperforming a little compared to bitcoin's chart.

From the data above, right after the 2022 altcoin rally and bitcoin started to take off with its dominance since january 2023. Altcoin just never outperform bitcoin anymore. Current altcoin market is so dry, weak, and barren.

They are right ! Alts are done ! cartels and exchanges used those scam alts to extract as much they can ! stick to btc and wait for final pump to get out

If what is meant is an altseason like the previous bullish season, where almost all altcoins rose rapidly and continued to hit massive all-time highs, then my answer is no, it will not happen.
Because we can see for ourselves that in this bullish market, altcoins that rise do not always rise simultaneously. Instead, they rise alternately between one category and another. And the term that is often used now is not altseason but Hype Narrative. Each category has its own narrative for its rise. Sometimes it starts with top-ranked altcoins with large market caps, followed by Layer 1 and 2 altcoins. Then it continues with the AI or RWA category. And finally, it usually ends with the Games and Meme token categories.

And everything can take its turn randomly. So, we can't invest in one type of narrative and expect it to rise first; that would be difficult. But if we analyze first and see which trend is starting to be talked about more, then we can start to slowly enter the narrative category that is starting to be talked about more.

We cant say for sure it we are never going to see alts season again,  but the thing with altcoins market is that, their mostly come with new hypes each time one fades off, so we shouldn't write off the possibility of a new coin making entry into the market, but although we may not see a major market highs in the year 2025 but sure we are going to see a major market break out in the positive trend both new and some few old altcoins like BNB and the rest.

BTC never got kicked out on the 1st spot. So that means alt will remain as is? Well, if you are not new in here, you can say no. But that is because BTC can still experience a down time. But that can mean that people are going on altcoins for a while. That is great though to balance things up. As of now BTC is on a dip phase still but it was unfortunate that alts didn't shine this time. Things like this happens too. It was like alts are following BTC's movement.

Black huh? But I think I would go for the colour red :), since this is the common ones that is used and seen in the charts or price. And red is the opposite of green in this regard. On this year, Bitcoin had shown some nice gain but even the altcoins and tokens are like that too. Though maybe not only like 90 percent or more. Maybe that makes someone like you to get confused if the altcoin season had come and is now gone or not yet and still about to arrive.

Perhaps the market has not yet shown any signs of an altseason arriving in the near future, where Bitcoin's dominance is still very high. And it seems that the altcoin season is still a long way off. But it could happen next year. I personally believe that the altseason will occur when the global economy begins to recover. So big investors or even the smart money may diversify into altcoins. And it seems that currently they are still holding on to Bitcoin for the purpose of maintaining value. On the other hand market saturation may change Bitcoin's dominance. And maybe that's when the altseason will arrive. I believe we can start to predict it more accurately when there are signs of improvement in the global financial situation or even when there are movements from several big investors to altcoins. And maybe at that time the market will start to follow the smart money. So that's when the altseason will most likely occur.

Funny enough, this is part of the bitter truth: most of these exchanges are partakers of this altcoin pump and dump performed by the token issuers. That's if they are not part of the team which issues and promotes some of these altcoins. Some of the meme coins out there just came to shock off money from the market and move it out; those who try to invest with them turn out to be victims.

That's why many persons when talking of altcoins would say it's another gambling hub where the big players such as the exchanges and developers of the coins manipulate the price to lure in small investors funds then later dump the coin in the middle of all that market hype. Even if there would be an altcoins season it wouldn't be that it's gonna start with some newly developed altcoins when there have been some top performing altcoins that have always dominated the altcoins market.

But we can still see a lot of enthusiasm from crypto users in hunting for new tokens on these two networks. However, the downside is that liquidity in the market has decreased because many have lost money trading on DEXs with new altcoins or tokens that keep appearing on those networks. Therefore, achieving an altseason has become more challenging. However, this is not the primary reason why an altseason has not emerged. The main issue is that there are now so many altcoins emerging, each with their own advantages and dedicated communities. This has led to market capitalization being more evenly distributed across the market, creating less hype than before. Additionally, traders are now more inclined to trade in the futures market rather than the spot market. This is another factor we must consider.

Altcoins are heavily manipulated just like you said. Those who have big money practically dictate what the price will be that is why the term "pump and dump" is a common phenomenon in altcoins. They can stir up hype of some sorts on certain altcoins and people will join them like headless mob and accumulate lots of it until they decide to dump it on those they deceived to buy their altcoins. The one way of avoiding falling for these scammers is to concentrate in Bitcoin and only buy altcoins with very tiny fraction of the capital so that incase the worst happen with the investment. 

While you shouldn't listen to anyone. If you are talking about altcoin summer or season? No. People who accumulated altcoins are bag holders now, unless they start to sell it at loss.

Just look how altcoins have behaved after bitcoin peaked in the past. It's going to be a blood season if anything. And it's only going to get worse for a year or two. There might be some bounces back to the bottom, as market's don't just go one way without bumps, and those bumps might seem like big percentage numbers, but don't let them fool you. Remember that you need 900% increase from -90% drop to get back where you were.

So if you want to make profit, maybe wait 2 years when they are bottomed out and buy then.

This actually makes me draws a closer look at the coin above you mention, Have been having it in mind to hold ZEC (Zcash) which if I does since then till now I could had ended up accumulating enough profits from this coin, and be sincere I don't now how sudden it became in terms of price changes or whether its total supply was reduced or shutdown as the rise of this coin lately is something very shocking which If I was told it would have a great changes I wouldn't had believe it till date, but now look were we are now currently as the market has made tremendously changes within the shortest interval.

I still believe that altseason will arrive, but I'm not 100% confident. Considering the need to reduce the investment portion in altcoins and focus more on Bitcoin. With altcoin movements becoming increasingly difficult to detect, many people inevitably wait too long and eventually give up. This is perfectly normal, especially after holding for too long. They'll likely become frustrated and opt for stop loss orders.

That is one Major problem with altcoins, no one can know for sure which one will do the magic and of course you can not be able to have it all that is in the market because they are numerous.

It is reasonable to put more value in Bitcoin than in altcoins without cheating, because Bitcoin can survive in the long term and one difference with Bitcoin and altcoins is that Bitcoin doesn't promise to give ROI in the short term and this will require more patience and while we see a lot of people focusing more on altcoins for quick profit even when they know that they are not trustworthy.

There are many factors that actually cause altcoins not to gain a strong enough position and the altseason does not happen again in this cycle.
Altcoin liquidity is moving more to Bitcoin and now more new altcoins are emerging, thus creating more panic as some altcoins start to go undeveloped and become dead projects.

Only the top altcoins are able to survive and still follow the current price of Bitcoin, but it will also take more struggle, But there will be a time when the altseason will start again

It takes more encouragement for altcoins and stable Bitcoin prices to go smoothly, but if Bitcoin continues to be dumped and more FUD emerges then the market will remain bearish.

I kept believing that altcoin season is season despite how rough the market has been for altcoins in the last two years of this bull market. But it's a wrong conviction to have. I believe the days we had full blown alt seasons like in 2021 are long gone and we won't see times like that again because altcoins today bring very little value to the table and are mainly maximum extraction vehicles.

Altcoins season now sounds like and over expectations from the market because bitcoin has got it's all time high and altcoins didn't till this time so the hope of seeing it next year is very little and even more less this year infact 2025 is a wrap nothing is going to happen again this year, it's over for altcoins maybe mid 2026 they could be lucky to see a little increase but not much of it.

The reason for the low price of altcoin being a barrier to becoming strong enough is the low progress of the price of Bitcoin. You will see the several time the moment Bitcoin pumps, the altcoin indices that are at a high level start to rise.

I agree with you that most of the dead altcoin liquidity is being moving to Bitcoin. Most investors make this decision. They buy in the hope of getting high profits and soon realize their mistake and start Bitcoin. My own experience and I have taken this strategy myself. If I had not sold at a loss from a greedy project, I would have lost more.

I think that the top level altcoin liquidity will gradually moving to Bitcoin, so there is some uncertainty about the altseason. There are already a significant number of projects waiting for their last breath and this is an important signal for every trader.

There is always a mixed reaction in the market. You need to be able to analysis the market and understand that market pulse because the more experience you gain, the more likely you are to make a profit. The 90 day indicator you have shown is a clear indication that we should be prepared for any future market situation.

As i already know, this year is gone for altcoins season, maybe the next one which is 2026 could be the stipulated year for them, because we had bitcoin season all through this year and we had some interesting time with the market performance, even though the end of the year does not mean the end of the bull market for bitcoin, as we have to be more speculative with the way the market is performing, so that things will be more considerable for your profits when we get the right time for each season.

I don’t think that Alts are gone like you lightly mentioned. Alts are also here to stay for long term and they will continue to remain the way they are only if the likes of Solana and other strong alts become bigger in the game but I don’t think there is a single alt that can still match up with the power of bitcoin in the next 50 years to come.

Altcoin here to stay the only reason you will see that altcoins i no longer in a systems it will be the reason that bitcoin is no longer in existence also because they Foundation of Altcoin is Bitcoin so whatever Direction or whatever step bitcoin takes other coins follows and that is why even in the market one of the concentration that other developers look at in time of prediction is bitcoin because that is what will determine the price of other coins, this shoes are important bitcoin is to other coins even as stable as ethereum, BNB and solana another coins are they still depend on Bitcoin when you comes to increase and decrease in the market.

And at as far as bull is happening other coins will definitely follow every coin will experience this because it's a season and no coin is left out and this is why you see a lot of coins popping out of nowhere even  coins on a normal day that will not survive will definitely survive during Seasons like that and that is why when you are purchasing your a coin you should know the kind of coin you are buying if it is not Bitcoin there are other beautiful altcoins you can buy with your money and you will make your interest so I said Bitcoin they are still other beautiful coins out there also that are recommended.

Yes, altcoins are going to exists in the market, but the question is that we didn't see a bull run in this cycle as compare to previous cycles wherein altcoin has a big run, bigger than Bitcoin itself.

But in terms of longevity, most of the solid altcoins will continue to be here despite not getting into a big increased like LTC or Doge. And there will be a lot of altcoins as well that is going to be born in the next cycle.

That's the bear market that we're assuming to come and this bull run was already final and set. Maybe if some alts are going to blow up and skyrocket by next year, they're only few.

But the rest and the majority of them are not going to be as lively as how most of these altcoins did last year and for this year of 2025.

If you hold alts that never pumped, sorry about that. But that might be the final hope you've got and better to move on.

You are missing the point of what they mean by altcoin season. In the past, after Bitcoin bull market, investor usually push their funds to altcoin which also so form of bullish momentum for the altcoins and this is what is usually called altcoin season. Why I'm skeptical about it happening like in the past is because Bitcoin do not also follow those predictable patterns. For instance, we don't know if the bull run of Bitcoin have ended or not which means we may not also be able to know what will happen when it is established to have ended.

We might or we might not experience it, but every year there is a sign that alt season will start its when an almost dead coin come back to life and give people a profit of a lifetime, when every altcoin follow that is for sure altcoin season, but sometimes those old coins are just part of history and never come back , while they are being replace by a new one, we can predict it will happen but knowing when is a different story, but i hope it happens soon, so that we can all make profit for that.

But I think that's the indicator of having an altcoin season since maybe this is just a small effect especially that maybe the value of dead alts rise because there's some major pump happening in the market.

I'd rather look at overall stats of top coins in the market if there's more coins experience a bull run maybe in this situation we can figure out that alt season already starts.

We are near to close this year and maybe next to speculate if there's an altcoin season will happen in 2026.

Yes, what you said is true, in the last few cycles there will always be seasons or opportunities in altcoins. Indeed, no one realizes whether the altcoin season has arrived or not, just look at last September, there were several altcoins showing the potential for significant increases. In this case, don't speculate too much in choosing altcoins, many circles say this season is very different from the previous season.

Choose an altcoin that has a clear vision, a credible team, innovative technology from the project, and has survived various seasons. But for other altcoins, most of them are still not ATH and if it is said that it has entered the altseason, this has not fully happened, so it needs more altcoins to experience ATH.

Waiting for 2026 will the trend change, because the cycle of 2025 will not be the same as before, whether 2026 will be a surprise or even start with a deeper decline in Bitcoin and altcoins.

If the bull run does not appear now, it means that we might not experience the altcoins market because the price of Bitcoin is what will determine if we are going to experience am altcoins season or not. This is time for us to wait for the price of Bitcoin to at least reach 100k so that we can all benefit for the bull market. Many people have been saying that we are now in the bear market which is not far again by the day. We may likely experience a bull market but right now is like we are already in the bear and the bear has eaten the bull.

Ya, this is nothing compared to the alt season we had in the past, in years like 2021. The previous ETH ATH was 4.7k/4.8k (can't remember but it's close), so eth only added like $100 on top of the ATH it achieved in years where there were no liquidity like we have now in crypto and then, the market wasn't considered matured as it is now. I say this because ETH is usually leading the charge of t season given the fact that it's the number 1 alt. But instead, we didn't see 10k eth or at the very least, the 5k price.

The next 50 years is a long milestone and what you see today as diversity and success can become a memory from the past. The alt season would remain always there but it might not to be the alts you see today. We are discussing a market with particular features.

Solana is literally the same too, just reaching previous cycle ATH with some little gain and thats it.

These coin supposed to be 2x of their ATH yet they have failed to do that. I'm guessing it's because the uncapped total supply that these coin have making it harder to get higher price the same way bitcoin did.
Inflation eats wealth doesn't matter whether it's fiat or it's crypto.
