I believe this match will go so close at the end, also taking the test series win we cannot conclude it will be winning for India, but it has lot of chances if the middle order batsman give a strong support in scoring.

Sharma done great job but they was not near to win as early damage done all for India and Dhoni is also gone after completing his half century but good match with full of entertainment by Sharma look like this series is going to be very interesting as now India need to give good reply after this lost.

OZ got the right start after losing the test series by winning the 1st ODI. Their middle order had really played well and helped them to reach 288 runs. The chase would never be easy and India could not capitalize the Rohit innings of 133 runs . India required some one to give company to Rohit on pitch but middle order collapsed and lost the match by 34 runs.

Earlier I though South Africa will easily have a minimum of 300 leads while now they lost 5 wickets with a lead of 212 and possibly end up before 300. It's only 2nd day stumped. I think it will not take even the forth day, lol. Pakistan will lose all wickets tomorrow if South Africa can't bat more than 1 session.

Infact the real sad part is that their were two batsman Rohit who opened the inning and made 133 and Dhoni at the end made 51 and inspite of this the team lose the match. Now this is something which will be pinching India that slight effort extra would have made then match win.

If you loose three wickets at the top in quick succession, it is very difficult to chase and there was no real support after the dismissal of Dhoni, India is lacking a good player to hold one end and with the world cup around the corner they should find a fix for this problem. When Rohit was striking good the other batsmen also failed to rotate the strike and hold one area, hope they will bounce back in the next match.

Rohit Sharma almost pulled off the victory for India along with Dhoni but they needed the middle order to stand up which they didn't. I hope that this now brings the Indian team back down to earth after winning the test series. I think most were over confident and same goes for most of the Indian fans with most saying that India will easily beat Australia. Well ODI is completely different game and with the fresh new team Australia has they have nothing to lose in this series. I look forward to the second ODI match on Tuesday.

It's sad. I have also seen some stupid post in social media blaming Dhoni here. In fact, he had nothing to do but support Rohit Sharma. He played good in that position. Those who are blaming Dhoni are kind of typical cricket fan who don't fucking know what cricket is.

While I do agree with both of you except "knowing cricket". but one can't deny that his performance is not that good with the bat in recent times. now he plays ridiculously slow and creates pressure on non-striker as well.

Now there are 2 Dhoni IMHO. One in Ipl and second in ODI. Thala(Dhoni) wins matches with the bat for his franchise against 4-5 bowlers ( Chances are only 2 are international level bowlers and rest of them, average bowlers) that's not the case in International matches. Everyone wants to see IPL's Dhoni including his critics. I still believe that he's a big tournament player and can play a good part in the World Cup squad.

I don't think Pakistan will be able to chase any target above 150. There current performance in the series is disappointing one. They may be a good team on dead wickets but there is a question mark on their batting ability once they place on fast bouncy wickets.

Day 3, first session, 213 runs behind, SA still have 5 wickets remaining. In a series Pakistan had so far 294 runs the highest in an innings, in rest of the innings 181, 190, 177 and 185 runs. Do you still have less than 5% hopes alive? I am expecting 0.01%

SA already scored 160, leading by 237 runs. They can easily take the lead to around 350 runs. I guess the Pakistani team can not chase that because the pitch already started to crack. It's not always easy to bat in 4th innings in a test match.

The lead is increasing and already SA is now 369 runs ahead and still 3 wickets left and 2 days of match is still left. Which means the result is for sure and from here is will be only SA who will be on top unless we see some one in Pakistan making a good century stand partnership could help them to win it.

380 is the target. The odds says 1.01 on sportsbet ( which is the minimum ) , interestingly the odds for draw is 80 which should be logically 1000x ( that too if there is a chance to rain )

Those odds for SA are crazy as anything can happen as there is a lot of time in this test match and Pakistan don't need to hurry bating. Yes we all know how badly Pakistan are when it comes to bating and trying to win a test match but I wouldn't count them out just yet with 3 wickets down and needing another 228 runs to win. All it takes is for the middle order to put on some big partnerships and it could get real close.

I am from  Bar-e-saghir  
They are still on crease so hopes are still alive. pitch is getting easy if middle order can apply themself then there is good chance. hopefully no collapse this time
