Ok guys, ive contacted all exchanges about the update. i also made sure to pm BlackSmith the right source and linked him to one of our block-explorers so hopefully yobit will get on the right track. BTCPOP.co already updated, Cryptopia acted swiftly too and put their 1337 wallet in maintenance while theyre updating.

It's pretty much impossible to lose your coins during the fork. Just keep them on the exchange and wait till the wallet is out of maintenance and TRY WITH A SMALL TEST WITHDRAWAL FIRST

What will happen if i dont update my wallet?

not much, you will keep staking on the old network but you will not be able to send coins to wallets that are on the new version. when you update the wallet, you will lose all stakes that you received after the fork date/time.

How exactly do i update my wallet?

download it from any of the links i posted above and replace the old .exe with the new one.

My balance is not showing the correct amount after i did the update! now what?

Go to Debug>Console> type repairwallet and hit ENTER> restart your wallet (if needed)

Will my balance in my wallet halve after the halving?

no. only the stake reward is halving.

Thanks for the update Velvet on the new wallet and I think if someone can do a video tutorial on this as well it would be great as a lot more new people are coming into 1337 coin and might not know how to go about updating their existing wallets to the new wallet.

I just updated my wallet and all went well and didn't need to do a repairwallet which was good however I did notice that my active connections is a lot lower then before. Is that because not many have updated to the new wallet?

Yes, as long as you have a fully synced 1337 wallet containing your coins and let your computer run the wallet.
You are only staking when the wallet is online.
