Some geek pr0n with a kink thrown in for added distraction As you can see there is still tweaking to be done. So I got that goin for me Looks neat, may I ask why you did this? I 'm speculating (fwiw) that he did it for two reasons... One: It looks neat. Two: Because he could. Both valid reasons in my book.

Wonder if the ignore button works both ways. Would be a calming effect if it did. Ignore a user and neither sees any of the others posts.
Even if we do ignore you and you ignore us -- the completely irrelevant posts pile up. There are other forums for the type of discussion you want to hold. Even feel free to invite us -- and if it's interesting enough we will dive in. In a sense I feel your pain. When I see users trading barbs about almost anything it can get rather windy in here with some posts having a wall of text. When I see these I often see many users I ignored and know I was right in not wanting to have their spew before my eyes. Objections to mine are, like recently, because the user has found I said something negative about something he or she feels strongly about. Perhaps the other user, like I, got burned in the reverse pump and dump early this year. Maybe in pointing out that the banking industry likely had a hand in the $900 to $555 swing and that exploiting it would work in the banking industry's favor making for more instability. Saying that what Bitcoin needs right now is stability may have upset the user who may have dumped and is sitting with a wad of dollars awaiting the crash. Answering that other user's question about Asia wanting to buy, saying that some have money ready to buy with a dip in price fell too close to home for the dumper.

Intel/amd etc. I have enough parts laying around for a saturn... could do a full jupiter If I plan it well.

You mised: mv /usr/bin/cgminer /usr/bin/cgminer_old You should always just stop the normal miner and run ckolvas's new one from the root directory to test it before you copy it over the one in /usr/bin The only way back now is to reflash 0.99 unless you made a backup as above Should be back to normal after that.

Some geek pr0n with a kink thrown in for added distraction As you can see there is still tweaking to be done. So I got that goin for me Very nice. Is it water or mineral oil circulating? Water, you wouldn't you use something less likely to conduct the heat? Mineral oil has 5 times less thermal conductivity than water. Plus it would burn out your pump fast pushing it around a restrictive loop. The only reason they use mineral oil in full immersion type cooling is because its non conductive, but you need lots of it. To the OP nice! I couldn't stand the downtime and wated BTC to even try Plus I think the hottest parts of our rigs and the parts most affected by heat are not the cores, but the VRMs. However I like the upside down board and the nasty kink just before the rad

It doesn't conduct. Or course water doesn't conduct either unless there are impurities. If it would spill it would find impurities pretty darn quick. Not sure if mineral oil with impurities would conduct as easily. As far as burning out the pump, probably not the pump but the motor might see more work - I'd say the coefficient of friction of mineral oil is quite a bit less than that of pure water.

Sorry I edited my post from earlier to explain a bit more. Yes for immersion its fine, but pure water would be better, but it will become conductive too fast even pure distilled water. Plus you need a lot of oil volume to make it work. But a loop is too restrictive, and there wouldn't be enough oil to conduct the heat away fast enough. Hope that makes more sense. Many people have seen the oil immersion demos and thought the same thing you have over the years. Unfortunately the science doesn't fly in a regular w/c loop sort of configuration.

Ok, in between the complaining and stressing and accusing, can someone tell me the process that lets you know when your miner is going to ship. First, it says paid. Then what? Thanksgiving is coming, so this 5-10 day delay could actually be VERY expensive for americans.
first you get "in progress" means in the queue for assembly/manufacture then "shipped" means made, your customer wallet info has been flashed and the address label printed and applied. Basically awaiting UPS pick-up. the tracking id will then come once UPS is in possession and en route... Just to be anal. In Process is what I am waiting for now. So, that happens when? At the point they send the UPS labels to the contract manufacturer? Does that mean it could be days "in process" or only hours? Means the customer file is no longer in the hands of KnC and is registered on the factories database for assembly. When they receiver the delivery of blank PCBs they can begin to mount the components, etc. ASICs are sitting there waiting.

@ joeventura
One reason is easy access to the top and bottom of running modules.
@ bobsag3
The PCB/case has 75x75mm holes and standoffs. This is Intel LGA 1155 pattern. The thermal xfer area of the ASIC pkg is ~40x40mm. The distance between the VRM's is ~85mm. Don't forget the VRM's need good airflow.
The PCB corner holes are same as a 120mm fan. Somebody @ KnC did good with the mechanical dimensions!
@ Biffa
Agree, Water is the choice for thermal reasons alone. Water also has a cleanup advantage.

I was thinking about doing like your mounting (upside down) with a fan blowing up onto the VRM's where the HS is. + 2 240 rads for a jupiter... should do well with the overclocking in the november units.

Thanks for the heads-up For anything related to politics, that was pretty interesting. Basically, they don't want bitcoin to be used to fund terrorism or buy drugs. Otherwise, they seemed quite interested in it's potential for innovation. P.S. Gallippi represented!

**too much air on the VRM's will shut some down.... just be aware of that. sweet lookin' setup btw...
