Been to a situation where I lost confidence with ICO, all of my investment at ICO early this year was a mistake, Big Lose and really had a bad investment that time. Depends on the ICO. If you buy at an ICO presale and it eventually has a value on exchangers, then you're lucky enough to get your profit. Only invest in an ICO that you think has a unique idea and a strong development team as others fades away before even listing in coin exchangers. So ICO is a gambling investment so far yet, if I as a newbie in cryptoworld I prefer mining rather than ICO. Yes ico is good to invest , but you need to know first what will the ico is capable of to earn profits from it. Make research in an ico that you are interested to invest in. Do not just invest in an ico because many ico are just tom ake money for themselves and when they had enough they will eventually run all the money they get. Good ico to inveat is hard to know.
