Do we Need Altcoin?

I believe that we need a few good altcoins...and everyone will make their choice...

We definitely need  Altcoin not only altcoin, we also need token that are built on some of the quality altcoin like Ethereum. Altcoin dare the path that Bitcoin may never attempt. Also is toke economy could co-exist with Internet of things

Yes actually in trading alts are more important than the BTC,if you can trade your alts and sell it for btc thats the best practice for me.

I think altcoin is needed for those who still do not have capital in the investment or arguably still a beginner.

Bitcoin does have it flaws that's why alternative coins are made. Altcoins are developed to do some things easier than using bitcoin.

Competition is always good, otherwise we'd still be stuck with the same software 10 years from now. I can only imagine, what things will be like then.

We all need them, but we don't need bitcoin forks. They're generally useless and they were designed to create an environment where the rulers of it are the cretors of it. Think about roger ver, you'll see my point.

Yes of course no some might say btc is profitable and it is the king yes i agree that's completely right and even i love holding btc through the recent times but the issue is electricity.

Yes I'm serious if you all didn't know btc is consuming a lot of electricity and it is all because of mining. As more and more coins are getting mined the difficulty increases ans because of this more power is being required.
Some are saying by 2020 it will take more power than the entire world.

Well so what connection this has with alts?

Well if it is taking lot of electricity governments might put various sanctions against it which means alts will be the only option left. This is just one reason there are many more reasons as well which others might have already replied.

Yap, because like a free market, the biggest player (bitcoin) need a competition (altcoins), its good for us (consumers). Their endless fight give us better and better innovation etc. Without it, it will be total stagnation.

Alts was create for art of speculation, not for technology and innovations (at least for today).

Of course altcoins have a right to exists as well. There are different use cases for altcoins, most are not competing with Bitcoin and dont want to serve as a currency. Many got totally different use cases and features. I think alts are very good for prosperity of the cryptospace, but on the other hand I think that there are too much sh*tcoins out that get too much attention. Its getting more hard to keep oversight.

There are some coins that we need and there are a ton of coins that are just trash. Bitcoin today has many disadvantages, first is the increased volatility and next is the increasing fees and the slow confirmation of transactions. We need alts in order for the people to have options to choose a better coin for a specific purpose.

Bitcoin price is too high when you start to invest in cryptocurrency. Altcoin were created i think for investors to have alternatives to start their investments with less assets and could possibly  grow the profit higher than when you buy bitcoin alone. In my opinion that would be the reason why altcoins was created.

Yes we certainly still need those altcoins because bitcoin is market capped by 21 million bitcoins and not 1 more will be produced so people won't be able to get hand on it once it's production stops . Also these other coins are made for other diversities of purposes and fields and are made out of ethereum which is a very useful altcoin and has a meaning unlike hundreds of other altcoins which were made just to get on the pump and dump game .

For the last couple years, altcoins have been the true engine developing the crypto world. If we only had BTC, crypto trading and mining would still be just a game for a small bunch of nerds.

On the other hand, many altcoins have brought significant technical innovations that will grow tremendously in the future, like PoS.

Therefore, the conclusion is obvious, we need altcoins, but only a few really good ones and not hundreds of scam coins.
