I ran the old wallet and it got me up to the current block. Then I killed it and started the new wallet - it started downloading blocks and is starying current, however blocks are still being orphaned . we need more people on the new wallet. there are only 4 active nodes. if we can get two or three more nodes on the new wallet we can take our coin back. I'm throwing 1,800 MH/s at it.

If Earthcoin has already survived for 4 years, I guess the time for a nice rise could have come. Some coins are like fruits, they just have to get ripe.

When I was starting in the crypto world, this was the first coin I bought on a now defunct exchange Cryptsy and it was memorable. Despite all the problem EAC had faced in the past it remained strong all over the years. Time will tell whether it is ripe for EAC to make a big come back.

it is not profitable to mine  at the present time. The coin has been under attack for many months. Even though there's only 640 MH/s Network Hash nearly all found blocks are orphaned and stolen by the attackers and sold on BTC38. We are hoping to change that  I've tried mining multiple times ever the past few months and only wind up with about 1 block out of 30 or 40 found due to the attack.

If you are interested in mining - please contact one of the people that's posting on this thread. We are looking for hashing power to increase the difficulty.

I see how the market of old coins based on POW mining is a thing of the past.
It has already been noticed that over time, a blockchain of coins that contain billions of values, is increase in size and begins to brake the entire network.
In this regard, EAC is somewhat similar to WDC, which is also experiencing a crisis today.
But most importantly, it is the lack of a reward system for large owners of such coins.
All they can count on is waiting another pump to sell their coins and make money on it  

And considering that the entire EAC main market today is two Chinese exchanges, I think the lack of coordinated reforms will gradually destroy this coin..
