Yo, have updated both client and masternode and when I am trying to "masternode start", I get the following message:
Safe mode: Warning: The network does not appear to fully agree! Some miners appear to be experiencing issues

Should I be worried?

Question?
With almost 40% of the coins in Masternode's and I would assume most MN owners hodling the coins they accumulate who the heck would sell at these prices? Especially considering BTC price. I own two MN's and I'm not selling any time soon. Miners? Price should be higher...
Anybody explain why it is not higher? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question...trying to make sense of it all. I.E. Couple hours ago someone dumped over 800 coins.  Huh

I see here many ppl trying to get first MN ( or two) and are tight on budget so doing 2 things: 1 buying slowly that happens around 0.006 price, 2: daytrading some ( whenever price goes over 0.0062 they sell). That is what I was doing :-), but now am 1. close to 1 MN and 2. What if Otoh decide to buy ( even for fun ) every single DRK for sale so I only consider self lucky for every coin bought under 0.006 as I can't reach MN at higher price. And there must be some miners and also MN owners that sell everything that fruits so these factors determining current price, making 0.006 safe level for all... ofc its just my opinion...

PS the guy (or girl) that dumped DRK to buy XPY must be sick as well as stupid now!

Wonder if they will come running back!?

I'm pretty sure it was not coinz x3 as he hardly had any left, I think he had pretty much left the building to pump Shadow.... Does having more BTC available make you more likely to do these crazy things!? Cheesy

In my wallet I have 145.400000064 DRK available, zero Pending and a darksend balance of 45.40000059 ,,, the wallet is set to mix 100 DRK over 3 round's ,,sooo why does it say "to little to denominate"

cheers

I can't answer your question but I also have some queries about darksend mixing. If I am trying to mix just over 1000 DRK, I have the amount and rounds set to 1100 and 16 rounds respectively (16 is a bit of an overkill for my needs but I wanted to test it out), why is my 'Submitted denom' fairly often 0.1 DRK? It would forever 0.1 at a time. After three rounds of mixing I have a balance of about 0.5 DRK! Is this to be expected? Are there any negative effects if in the middle of darksend mixing I change the amount to be anonymised in options? Can stopping and starting Darksend mixing during the process be detrimental? On a separate note, what exactly do the 'Try Mix' and 'Reset' buttons do?

It's the weekend, the network has grown a lot. People need time to update, I think it shows that masternode owners are growing in number.

This next work week we should see a nice bump.

*bump*

Starting January 18th, 2015:

Do not sell any DRK for lower than 0.018 BTC!
And buy some Darkcoins on the 18th!

This is just a suggestion to everyone, it's voluntary.

If you're a seller, realize that you will benefit when the price goes up. Let's do this!

Happy Birthday Darkcoin!!  Cool

Does anyone know how long a node must be offline to be out of the payment cycle? Is restrarting a node with -reindex going to put me out of the cycle?

Evan -- the Spreadcoin dev is supposedly working on allowing masternodes to have dynamic IPs: https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=715435.msg10193497#msg10193497

Quote
Initial masternode implementation will not require you to have a static IP. Instant transactions simply don't require this: someone broadcasts transaction, masternode receive this transactions, sign it and broadcasts this signature, there is no need for anyone to directly connect to masternodes. Nodes will monitor time delays between receiving transactions and confirmations from masternodes and will assign scores for each masternode according to these delays. This score and deposit amount will affect which masternodes will receive payments.

What is actually important here is not a whether your IP address is static or dynamic but whether or not you can accept incoming connections. I want to make it optional in the future so that if your masternode can accept connections you will broadcast your IP address, if your IP address is dynamic then you will just broadcast another message to announce your new address. Both initiator of transaction and masternodes want to confirm transaction as fast as possible and initiator will be able send transaction directly to required masternodes, since this will decrease delays between transactions and confirmations masternodes which can accept connections will be valued higher.

Requiring masternodes to have static IPs and accept connections makes network more centralized because many people will run their masternodes on hostings like Amazon, we don't want many of our masternodes to be located in the same datacenter, right? Possibility to rebroadcast your address fixes this at least partially because you don't need to have static IP and may be able to accept connections on your home computer (this depends on your ISP).

Is there any possibility of us doing this?  I currently spend over $80.00 per month on VPS and going up.  At some point when I'm done buying DRK, I will need to sell DRK each month to cover my VPS costs and I'm sure others will do the same, causing downward price pressure.  But I have a 100mb pipe available to me and a load of laptops.  If I was able to use dynamic ips, I could save a boatload of money and not pressure DRK with eventual sells.

I pay $.80/masternode per month. You just have to look around for other providers. If you blindly stick to Vultr or Amazon AWS, of course you'll be paying a lot more per month (on top of the obvious lack of diversification in providers). And no, please don't ask what provider(s) I use--it would make little sense having everyone shift to a new provider--will end in the same result.
