In any case, it appears this will be a revenge of Bo Nix's replacement! I very much wish he will fight like a demon and give the victory for his team!



Stidham (6-3, 215 pounds) was picked by New England in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Auburn. After serving as a backup behind Tom Brady as a rookie, Stidham competed for the starting job in 2020, but lost to Cam Newton. The Patriots drafted Mac Jones the following offseason, and Stidham never started a regular season game for the franchise.

New England traded Stidham to the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2022 offseason and he ended up starting two games that season. The Raiders lost both contests, but Stidham completed 63.9% of his passes for 656 yards with four touchdowns against three interceptions.

After arriving in Denver in 2023, Payton signed Stidham during NFL free agency. Stidham went 1-1 as a starter after the Broncos benched Wilson, then he competed with then-rookie Bo Nix for the starting job in 2024. Nix won the QB1 job and Stidham has served as his backup over the last two seasons.

After losing Nix, the Broncos are considered home underdogs against the Patriots. What a story it would be for Denver to get an upset win with New England's rejected former quarterback leading the way.

Thanks for the kind words, @nutildah and @Hurestic.  This is indeed a great group of guys.  Even if ChiBitCTy still hasn't coughed up the entry fee (I'm going to give him a wedgy next time I see him) I have no doubt about any of you guys being as dependable.  I did take longer than I wanted to pay out the Pick-Em pool prize.  I thought I was waiting on an address from one of the winners, but I was mistaken.  That's what rushing through PMs while I'm traveling/getting hitched in a foreign country will do I guess.

On the bright side, I traveled overseas with my ColdCard in tow and didn't end up in a gulag.  I only had the escrow funds and some pocket money on it, so it wasn't a big risk.

Only the second time I've seen this, you deserve more.
