I have never heard of this wallet before for monero, bitcoin and other shitcoin which are open source yet. Well have enabled notifications in telegram for if someone mentions monero word and a few other related topics, so quick can watch it out.

Basically, today when I first tried to create a bitcoin wallet, it was created without any internet access, and then I copied all bip 39 seeds while logging in app keeps lagging and interrupting my phone for wallet access (was internet kept off) (new phone with few extra 3,4 apps only). Keeps denied, what more pupup!

Lateron also without the internet, it keeps interrupting the wallet access for a while. After a few times of removal of some cache and the storage data of an app on my android it worked properly for twice, thrice.

Few Bugs/Broken features that I found or errors in data fetching.

 UI is built top notch in this app and was impressed seeing an option for buying monero that is available inside, but damn, when I click it on to buy xmr, app redirects me to the next page showing me to buy btc lol (more funny is there is no option to buy xmr either). Is this platform in in early stage, so developers are working hard to someday gonna work properly to their users?

Is tor enabled a default option that is primarily set by devs? I tried buying bitcoin in it for my stack wallet twice/thrice and failed. I didn't understand why but found "Purchasing not available while tor is enabled" as below.

Then when I disconnected tor then this happened "simple Api error written with exception: error placing order, bad request" as below;

And a lot more other features are broken and not working properly inside app. Wut of this, is this app only better for storing monero temporarily? If I have to give a rating, I will probably give 6.8 outta ten or I'll check web version tomorrow by morning.

You can create a new wallet without internet access without any problems.

However, you cannot restore an existing wallet with the internet disabled, that is the error:

I'm glad you liked this wallet, despite being new, it has some features that i liked and i'm following its growth. I believe that the devs will improve it a lot.

I guess not! Some kinda error on my android probably occurred yesterday. Now, I'm able to create and log in for access without enabling internet.

The provider that they're using ^[Simplex] in both of their apps, doesn't support Monero.

They've been around for more than two years, so they're definitely not in the early stages of development, but they've always had a lot of bugs ^{[the same thing also applies to their "Stack Duo" app]} and that's why I've rarely used both of their apps in the past few months.

Is tor enabled a default option that is primarily set by devs?

AFAICS, Tor is disabled by default.

Have any of you tried to request a specific payment amount on the receive tab, but when you press a period or comma you get an error stating an invalid amount?

In the country where i live, we use commas instead of dots to separate decimal values, but in addition to giving this error, there is no way to insert the dot depending on the compatibility of the application to make the request, the keyboard only offers the comma option.

Stack Wallet has fixed this bug, at least in the iOS version, now when using a comma as a decimal separator, a QR code with the invoice is generated.



I think this wallet will continue to improve and get better and better.

It appears that Cypher Stack's team has become active again in releasing updates in the past month or so, and in one of their recent updates ^[v2.2.0], they finally added duress mode ^{[not included on Stack Duo (yet)]}: Step-by-step guide ^{[turn your volume all the way up]
Note: Regardless of the added security feature, I still don't recommend keeping a large amount of funds in your mobile wallets!}

Although it's a mobile wallet, I don't like to relying solely on PIN encryption, depending on the pin configuration, can be insecure. (unless theress a limit on failed attempts, after which the data is wiped, similar to most HWs). I'd like PIN to be optional and also could use ASCII character as passwords/passphrases.

It seems the operation of Dures Pin is similar to the plausible deniability feature present in Bluewallet, where it is possible to create an Encrypted Storage.

The reset pin feature on a certain number of failed attempts that some wallets have is a preventive measure against brute-force attempts and IMO it's the last thing someone should trigger when dealing with real-life threats ^{[they'd know you're hiding something (it makes everything worse), so the best way to deal with such situations is to hide it in plain sight (durres mode)]}.

There is also a version of Stack desktop wallet, and you can enter any strong password you want there.
I don't like using any mobile wallets for larger amount of coins, except if they are connected to hardware wallets just for signing transactions.

I just tried downloading it for windows11, but the windows flagged the binary as malware (likely a false positive), so I couldn't test it. The Stack team could make their binaries available signed with their pgp public key, as well as their own public key.

I had tested the desktop version sometime last year. Back then, the wallet only generated taproot bech32m receiving addresses.

You have everything posted on their github page, you can whitelist it, and you should really stop using stupid wind0ws spyware OS.
If you are expecting from Gates to protect you from viruses and malware than you have a much bigger problems.

A small update for Duo users:

Stack finally released another update after a very long time... It appears that it had something to do with the app store denying their releases ^[source] and Diego having a hard time with how builds were made ^[source].
^{- BTW, it's worth noting that duress mode is now also part of the Stack Duo (not sure why they didn't include it on any of the recent release notes) and they've finally expanded Stack Duo beyond Android and iOS (source).}

You might want to correct your spelling of "duress" to how it should be properly written, because if someone searches for duress in the context of wallets in general or Stack wallet in particular, your post with incorrect durres won't show up in the search hits.

I don't pay attention and visit x.com anymore, so won't read what their issue is with the app store. I just wonder what takes them so long to remedy it, because it's quite an essential thing to be able to swiftly publish app updates if it is needed.

Thank you for spotting the typographical error... It appears that I've made that mistake on two occasions in this topic alone.

They didn't specify the exact problem that the app store had with them, but they did mention it was for "silly reasons". I should've probably rephrased the previous update to make the main culprit clearer for those who prefer not to use X, but it's worth noting that the person who's responsible for making those updates ^[Diego] mentioned the previous build structure was 80% of the reason for the lack of Duo updates.
