The Linux default is about 58 million inodes per TB. How many did you have?

I think we've talked about this before. But, whatever service I'm using, I have a higher limit. Either way, for now the service is viable for our needs, and therefore, I don't need to change it. In the future, I have the possibility to improve this aspect.

A sub-domain may work: whateversite.talkimg.com. If you can enforce it so each image only loads on a certain site, they'll have to respect it.

The issue is not having a subdomain, the issue is that I will have two administration areas. In turn, I had to manually create locks on each domain, so this management really required itself. Because, hotlinking is not always efficient. Basically, it would be like creating two websites, even if the same hosting is used.

I have no problem putting a topic there. I just don't want to give support there - I don't have time to deal with two support topics (it doesn't even make sense).

That's not possible: I can't know when someone edits old posts and replaces a broken image link with TalkImg.

If the Bitcointalk community doesn't oppose the idea, I won't oppose it either. And I will be able to reconfigure the server, to give greater freedom and guarantees in operating in other locations. What is your opinion?

You don't have unlimited resources so I would be very careful in spreading TalkImg service to other forums, especially if there are no donations coming from other forums.
I don't think there are no imgur limitations in other forums, like there are in bitcointalk, so members can use imgur and other alternative instead.
On the other hand, there is a chance that spreading the word about TalkImg could bring you more income, and that means more resources.

TalkImg is almost a year old, and it has been a success, and for that I thank everyone. I'm in the final phase of implementing some technical updates, which will probably be released next month.

We recently tried adding the upload via link option, but it didn't work as expected. I don't know if the planned updates correct this functionality, but at least I want you to know that the idea is to continue to grow this project.

This month added another statistical factor: the three uploaded images, which were most viewed. The values are estimated, but I believe it will be another interesting element for the statistics. Hope you like it.


Here are the numbers for the month:

	Number of uploads in the month:  6 734 (+192 that in the last month)
	Total disk space in the month:  2.14GB (+0.18 that in the last month)
	Number of visits to the talkimg.com website in the month: 6 546 (+645 that in the last month)  Estimated number of times images were viewed on the forum in the month (hits): 3 461 888 (+254k that in the last month)  Bandwidth in the month: 606GB (+135 that in the last month)

You can use this on other websites or forums to upload or attach images to your post, but I don't think Joker_josue recommends this from what I know. It's better to stay this here in Bitcointalk because it's designed for this platform.But I've also used this several times on other forums without any issues. The platform is open to the general public, but was designed to only work on Bitcointalk. What does that mean?

The server is configured with exclusive hotlinks for the forum image proxy. In other words, the image links should only work on the forum. Requests for access to the image from other websites may be blocked by the server, meaning the image will not be displayed.

This does not mean that the images will not be displayed on other sites/forums. But, I cannot guarantee that this will always happen. The system is automatic, and at any time a website can be blocked by the system and no longer be displayed.

In short, although it is discouraged, you can use the images in forums other than Bitcointalk, but I cannot guarantee how long these images will be visible in these other forums.

But @xLays didn't comment anything wrong. That's why it's not worth going down that path. 

In recent times, there have been several requests for it to be used on other sites in a more "safe" way. It is something that is on my analysis list, as I have to understand both the impact and other aspects that are currently involved. One of these points is the backup system, which would be complicated to separate the images used between the various platforms. Anyway, it's something for analysis, but for now it's recommended to just use it here on the forum. There are no guarantees of use in other locations.

I had a question! Why don't you add a tool like image compressor in talkimg, so that we won't have to scroll through other websites or add a buildin image compressor software that will compress big images automatically if anybody tried to upload images that are more then 3mb?!

I get it, normal images taken from internet aren't that big and most of the time users are using that. But when sharing personal images for example "An image of a Pie" which I made recently for the Bitcointalk pie baking contest, I had a quite headache uploading them to BTT. I had to manually resize every images. And nowadays, an image taken from an smartphone are never less then 3mb.

I assume you understand what I was trying to say, and will elaborate further what could be the problems when implementing these changes and if you intend to add them in the future?!

I don't know yet if in the next major upgrade, I will be able to have it integrated directly into the main platform. But, I will at least give this tool more prominence on the platform, so that it is more easily accessible to everyone.

Oh I see, the main website didn't have any option for this https://zip.talkimg.com/.

BTW even if you don't add it directly into the main platform, it be better if there were some kinds of links or option that will re-direct us to the compressor tool, in case someone needs it. All I'm saying  a little visibility would be better.

Yes it is true. I just didn't do it before, because it was in beta. But even in beta it is efficient and useful. So I will change that soon.

I don't know if anyone has already asked about this... But is there a possibility of adding an more option for you to define the image height size?

for example, in the image I posted, I would just like the link to come with the height... the rest I think the forum itself adjusts automatically...

Well, if the person simply deletes or changes the information they intended, this issue is resolved.
More options in the existence of BBCode, are not a great necessity.

I inform you that during this week, I will start implementing some technical improvements to the platform. These updates are more back office updates, with the aim of fixing some bugs and improving the platform's security. It will also improve the possibility of implementing new features in the future. Maybe you won't notice any major changes right away, but I hope new things will emerge in the future.

During this process, all images will continue to be available on the forum, and the site will function normally. The site may eventually become unavailable or new uploads suspended from time to time.
