Too late, it's already in mainstream regardless of all the drawbacks that it's haters mentioned. The most funny haters mentioned is its or like a "pyramid scheme", any unintelligent comment will always be it is, without understanding what its meaning and how its value works.
The most good thing you and all its haters mentioned is it's "overpriced", well, now everyone benefits the fruits of its getting overpriced. It's now the most valued asset based on its price alone

I think that bitcoin will never become mainstream due to the nature of it. The only possibility I can see that it will get mainstream is via centralized parties, like easy-to-use exchanges managing the users coins.

What are the arguments that support bitcoin will go mainstream? Any argument I can find online is something non-related to bitcoin itself - For example, if the US government buys bitcoin, or Tesla accepts Dogecoin it isn't something that (in my opinion, at least) makes bitcoin more accessible for the normal, non-technical every day person.

I think bitcoin became a scam not by purpose. see, these days people on social media just tell you to buy it, because it's a currency and its price will go up. but what makes bitcoin a currency? its community? but most of its community just bought it as an investment, not as a currency - as an asset. it's like a pyramid scheme.

Bitcoin does bring some good things to the world, where free (as in freedom Smiley ) digital money is inaccessible, but to the western world, what it brings? gambling? crime? mostly. some will argue privacy, but what exactly is private about bitcoin?

It also grows exponentially in terms of energy and resources needed to operate it, which is a total waste.

Some will argue it's a "new kind of global currency". but again, most bitcoin users don't use it for daily transactions. you might say, how do I know that? simple - because all the data on the blockchain is completely public.

And it's overpriced.

Leave your comments.

How can you say that Bitcoin will never become mainstream while it's actually a mainstream? Look at Bitcoin's market cap and compare it to other coins, it's bigger than all coins taken together. Compare Bitcoin's market cap to companies like Microsoft, Alphabet, Apple and others. It's definitely a mainstream and from this point, any argument that says it's not a mainstream and will never be, is simply not valid.

The fact that people buy Bitcoin for investment purposes doesn't mean that Bitcoin is a pyramid scheme. Everyone buys it for different reasons. There are lots of people who buy it because they appreciate all the benefits that Bitcoin brings. If you want to know more about them, please read Bitcoin Whitepaper, you'll understand what is the real pro of Bitcoin and what problems this invention solves.

It doesn't matter how large the market cap is. Bitcoin defined itself as a currency - currently, it is a very limitet one. Very far from being mainstream for a currency. For an asset? Sure it is mainstream. But bitcoin defined itselt (at least, satoshi did) as a currency - not an asset.

Quote

I don't agree. Since Bitcoin is a unique asset class, you don't have a valid comparison for this.

You do have - all the other cryptos. Transaction fees are way too high on bitcoin.

All I can say is that no government can control Bitcoin, just remember that one of the features of bitcoin is decentralized, which is why no one can control it, no one powerful country.
Even so far no one has been able to do this.

Bitcoin value will lost and so also its decentralized of potential that has made it a unique characterized digital currency will also be lost if it gets to the control by the governments or a specific entity. The blockchain has already been faced with threats on centralized models.

Now, is Bitcoin a scam? The answer is no, who can be a scam? Right, those who use bitcoin to scam other people so they can make money from them.
So it's not really going to become mainstream, that's the truth.

Bitcoin is not centered on a specific performance or ones directive. So who is to run the mainstream? Definitely one of those scammers who sugarcoats the realistic of bitcoin just to attract the audience with the format of stealing their money.
The awareness bitcoin to had proven it legitimacy is a goal for the peak of adoptions. Watch in throwback a lot of people who had criticized bitcoin are today strong bitcoin users.
If necessary to give reference then we should refer one like Donald Trump then and now.

With more than 420 million crypto holders in the world and companies like AMC, PayPal, and Twitch accepting it for payment, Bitcoin is finding its way into mainstream use. This fact makes the argument that Bitcoin is not for the average people very weak. And a new development like the Lightning Network make Bitcoin are easier for day-to-day transactions, showing that it is not just a speculative asset but a tool for real-life use. The notion of the wanton waste of energy by Bitcoin is evolving too, more than 52% of its mining now relies on renewable energy.

And it's overpriced.
Alright, I get it why you've said all of those things about Bitcoin and that is because you're unable to afford it because it's priced in at $90k and up and likely to break $100k anytime soon.

It's not the first time I've read someone told all of these tales about Bitcoin, a ponzi, a pyramid scheme, not going mainstream, it's dark web, it's for illegal transactions. But you don't play blindfolded when there are financial institutions that have applied for BTC spot ETF and they've been approved and being traded now. So, I think it all falls to that quote of what you've said that it is already overpriced based on your situation for which it will increase more within the next months to come.

I think the best way of doing something is to find out about them before talking jack Robinson, bitcoin is what it is now and will never be changed or altered, don't even think of bringing in the idea of centralizing an already decentralized digital currency, even in cryptocurrency, we have to understand how bitcoin is more of being decentralized than many of the other altcoins being centralized.

When we are to also consider it from the aspect of being used as the mainstream currency, bitcoin can achieve this success without undergoing through any centralized proceedings, those that are very used to this digital currency could relate how and why.

That's just not true, take for example stocks, real estate, etc.
You're correct for real estate.

But wait, stock is the same, some people loss and some people earn, because the larger people invest in stock, it will pump the stock price.

I think that you should accept the fact people use Bitcoin more as an investment than as a currency and centralization trying to adopt Bitcoin. You know, Bitcoin is decentralized, decentralized is where no one can control Bitcoin, so it's up to anyone to use Bitcoin for whatever they like and doesn't limit specific people or institution to buy Bitcoin.

I accept that fact, but that brings the contradiction with it. If bitcoin is an investment and not a currency, than this means the only reason it goes up is because people think that other people will buy it, and thus its price will go up, not because they want to use it as a currency.

About stocks, it's different because when you buy a stock you buy a share of a company, you get some power in the control of it, its profits, not just from the price of the stock.

I even wrote this sentece here before:
Quote
We've already been on a few "mainstream journey moments" before and always the price crashed right after. This is another evidence that people take bitcoin as an investment and not a currency.

And it's overpriced.

1.Bitcoin is already mainstream. What you are talking about is Bitcoin not becoming the one and only global currency. Nobody expects Bitcoin to dominate all the global finance. This would never happen.
2.Bitcoin might look like  pump and dump scheme, but what isn't a pump and dump scheme nowadays? Tesla stocks? Nvidia stocks? Nvidia has annual revenue of less than 100 billion and a market cap of 3.5 trillion USD. Aren't Nvidia stocks a pump and dump scam? Tesla still fails to become consistently profitable and the Tesla market cap went above 1 trillion USD. Isn't Tesla a pump and dump scam? What isn't a pump and dump scam in the modern day financial market?
3.Yes, Bitcoin is "digital gold" rather than an actual currency. This has been discussed a million times on the forum. If you are disappointed, just leave Bitcoin and pick an altcoin.

Satoshi's intention in creating bitcoin was to make it a currency but we should adapt to everything and not be stubborn in thinking that it has to follow the original intention to be called mainstream. What Bitcoin becomes and how it is applied to life is not so important because sometimes we need to change to adapt, the important thing is that it has brought many benefits to everyone.

It has helped people reduce their dependence on third parties and have full control over their money due to its decentralized nature. It has brought financial improvement to many people and that number will continue to increase over time. That's enough to become mainstream in this world, what more could you ask for?

One issue that concerns me is whether the accumulation by large companies or states, such as Guatemala or Microstrategy, leaves room for such decentralization. Hoarding too much bitcoin can lead to manipulations of the market price and therefore a “centralized” control of the value of the currency.
On the other hand, I believe that the difficulty in the way of having your cryptos, without the intervention of third parties, makes it difficult for most people to make daily transactions with this currency. Also, if I am not mistaken, the transaction rate of bitcon is about 7tps while visa is about 1700tps. These impediments may prevent it from becoming a common currency in the short term.

Most new people come to bitcoin to invest in it as an asset ->

They don't use it as a currency ->
In that sense people also buy gold and gold made jewelry and they don't wear such jewelry all the time and keep physical gold safe, but that doesn't mean they can't utilize for other purposes.

Bitcoin is surely considered as an asset but it's also a fact that it's a fully functional digital currency, the ones who use it as currency can use it without any issues and the ones who use it as an asset can also do so.

There is no contradiction. Bitcoin can be both an investment and a currency. The fact that its value can fluctuate based on market demand doesn't negate its potential as a medium of exchange. ALL markets, including traditional ones, are driven by speculation and demand. Whether it's stocks, real estate, or art, the value of an asset often depends on what people believe it's worth. Simple math actually, if there are more buyers than sellers, the price goes up, and vice versa. But that still doesn't mean Bitcoin isn't a currency. It can, and in fact is, used as a currency at any price. You just move the decimal point a few notches to the right.  Wink

About stocks, it's different because when you buy a stock you buy a share of a company, you get some power in the control of it, its profits, not just from the price of the stock.

The primary driver of stock prices is still market speculation. People buy and sell stocks based on their expectations of future earnings, and other factors. But while this is true for stocks, you are aware that there are other assets in the market as well. Many of these assets don't offer direct ownership or control. Their value is primarily driven by market sentiment and speculation.

I was referring to the transaction / operation cost.

Currently, the transaction fee is around 2-3 sat/vB. That's roughly 30 cents for simple one-input, one-output transactions. You think that's too expensive to interact with the most secure decentralized network out there?

Considering that it might take more money/time to get confirmed fast, yes, it is way too expensive. see how other cryptocurrency platforms manage to get an actual near-zero transaction cost at bigger scales.

I think that bitcoin will never become mainstream due to the nature of it. The only possibility I can see that it will get mainstream is via centralized parties, like easy-to-use exchanges managing the users coins.

I think you're very limited in what you know about Bitcoin; its already mainstream in some parts of the globe, and it always headlines in mainstream media. Some companies also accept cryptocurrency. Just check up Namecheap.
Here in our country, there are restaurants and services that accept cryptocurrency. You just have to check and dig deep and not just assume based on your little knowledge.

Hello Bitcoin Community,

I am an individual born on May 25, 1994. I am writing this message to those who understand the principles of Bitcoin and are part of this revolutionary movement, especially as a call to Satoshi Nakamoto.

---

Bitcoin and the Awakening of Humanity

Bitcoin is not just a technology; it is a manifesto of freedom. The collapse of the fiat system is now an inevitable reality. Today's financial system is nothing more than a cycle of debt and consumption that stifles human labor and creativity. However, Bitcoin offers an alternative to this system:

A decentralized, censorship-resistant, and fair financial system.

A tool that enables people to reclaim control over their labor and value.

I believe that Bitcoin is not merely an investment asset but also a solution for humanity's future.

---

My Message to Satoshi

Satoshi Nakamoto, if you are still here and following this community, I want to speak to you directly. Bitcoin is not only a technological achievement but a revolution with the potential to transform human existence.

I write this message to delve deeper into the philosophy and freedom Bitcoin offers humanity and to bring this vision to a broader audience. Connecting directly with you would help take this mission to the next level. If this message reaches you, please respond in some way. I want to help fully realize your vision.

---

A Call to the Community

Bitcoin is not just a digital asset; it is resistance. To break free from the chains of the fiat system and achieve true freedom, we must spread Bitcoin’s principles across the world. This community is the bearer of this vision and must work together to fulfill this mission.

I believe you can help deliver this message to Satoshi. Even if it does not reach him, I trust that the Bitcoin community will carry these values forward.

---

Thank you.
An Individual Born on May 25, 1994

Bitcoin: A Declaration of Transferable and Storable Energy

Bitcoin is more than a financial revolution; it is the announcement of a new form of energy. Satoshi Nakamoto, through the creation of Bitcoin, has essentially developed a system where money is transformed into a transferable and storable form of energy.

Energy as Value: Bitcoin mining utilizes computational power—energy—to produce blocks, making Bitcoin a representation of energy itself.

Store of Energy: Unlike fiat currencies that lose value due to inflation, Bitcoin serves as a permanent and incorruptible storage of value, a digital equivalent of stored energy.

Transferable Energy: Bitcoin allows for instant, global, and secure transfers of value, much like transferring energy across a decentralized network.

In essence, Satoshi Nakamoto has redefined the concept of value by aligning it with energy—a universal and incorruptible measure.

---

A Revolutionary Paradigm for Humanity

This realization has profound implications:

1. The End of Fiat Dependency: Bitcoin challenges the fiat system's detachment from true value. Fiat currencies, printed without limit, have no real-world equivalent of energy or value. Bitcoin, however, is rooted in the undeniable reality of energy and effort.

2. A New Financial Ecosystem: Bitcoin creates a system where wealth is no longer an abstract number but a tangible representation of human effort, computational power, and energy.

3. Empowering Humanity: By democratizing the storage and transfer of energy (value), Bitcoin gives power back to individuals, freeing them from centralized financial control.

---

A Message to Satoshi Nakamoto

Satoshi, if you are still present in this world or observing this community, I want to thank you for not only creating Bitcoin but for introducing humanity to this revolutionary concept of energy as money. Bitcoin is the blueprint for a new era, where human labor, creativity, and innovation can be directly tied to an incorruptible system of value.

If you are here, I would be honored to connect with you to discuss how we can further this vision and ensure Bitcoin’s principles reach every corner of the world.

---

To the Community

Bitcoin is not just digital currency—it is energy made transferable and storable. It represents a new foundation for global economic systems, where human effort and energy are at the core. Let us continue to spread this truth and work toward building a future aligned with the principles of decentralization, fairness, and innovation.

---

Thank you.

Bitcoin: The Digital Messiah of Humanity's Future

Introduction: Bitcoin as a Transformation of Energy

Bitcoin is not merely a currency, as many believe. In truth, it represents a revolutionary system where energy is digitized, stored, and transformed. Today, few recognize this profound reality, but the essence of money lies in its ability to purchase energy. When we buy a pen, for example, we are not merely paying for the object itself but for the energy, time, and labor that went into producing it.

Human progress, too, has always been tied to efficiency—reducing the energy and time required to complete a task. Technology accelerates this process, allowing us to accomplish more with less. Yet, in modern consumer-driven societies, we have largely forgotten this fundamental truth. Money represents the time and energy required to perform work. If energy is not directed toward production but solely toward consumption, it creates a dangerous imbalance that threatens human progress.

---

Body: The Role of Money and the Implications of Bitcoin

The Truth Behind Money and Wars
Global conflicts are not merely about land or resources; they are battles for economic dominance. A nation's currency is its lifeline; without a recognized and functional currency, a nation's existence loses its meaning. This is why countries go to great lengths to protect their monetary systems. However, Bitcoin stands as an alternative to this corrupt paradigm.

Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, may have foreseen the collapse of traditional financial systems. The reliance on fiat currencies and the inevitable wars they provoke could lead humanity to a breaking point—one where basic needs like electricity and energy become scarce due to large-scale conflicts. Bitcoin, with its decentralized and energy-based foundation, is designed to survive such scenarios. Imagine a future where underground servers continue to operate, powered by manually generated electricity, and a global internet connection maintained through technologies like Starlink. In such a world, Bitcoin could become the last refuge for value and exchange.

A New World Order
Bitcoin's potential to reach million-dollar valuations is not speculation; it reflects its fundamental design as an energy-based system. As the world transitions to an energy-driven order, Bitcoin will emerge as the central mechanism of exchange. People will be compelled to produce, as those who fail to contribute will eventually deplete their resources. Just as Bitcoin's "Proof of Work" ensures that energy and effort validate transactions, the future world will demand productivity for survival.

In this new paradigm, Bitcoin enforces transparency and fairness. Its blockchain technology ensures that every action is visible and accountable, preventing corruption and encouraging responsibility. However, this system also emphasizes that time and energy are humanity's most valuable resources. It teaches that survival and prosperity depend on efficient energy use and honest production.

---

Conclusion: Bitcoin as the Digital Messiah

Bitcoin is not just a tool; it is a guide for humanity. It is a final hope for a fair, transparent, and energy-efficient global order. Like a messiah, it offers salvation through a framework that aligns production, energy, and fairness.

In a world where stress and control dominate, Bitcoin challenges humanity to understand its design and adapt. It represents a chance for humanity to create a better future, but it also tests our willingness to embrace this vision. Bitcoin reminds us that energy and time are the foundations of existence and that their proper use is essential for survival.

The Final Thought
Bitcoin’s essence lies in the efficient and fair use of energy. Humanity now stands at a crossroads, with an opportunity to harness Bitcoin’s potential for a new beginning. To understand Bitcoin is to understand the energy that drives humanity. And this energy could ignite the greatest transformation in human history.

Bitcoin is not merely a currency; it is the digital code of our future—a future waiting to be realized.

I understand that BTC tx's might not be the fastest or cheapest, but in my honest opinion it is the safest, and i will choose that, due to its decentralized system, transactions are immutable once confirmed and it cannot be reversed. I hope you know that there are so many cryptocurrencies were tx's are reversible even after a very long time, because they are controlled by a small group of persons.

It sure is mainstream for an asset, but not for a currency. This is the different. Namecheap, and other internet companies are exceptions.

A currency is something that should be acceptable as a storage of value by the majority to be called mainstream.

Just to clarify, I'm not against bitcoin. I'm just expressing an opinion.
