Floating which lasts 3 days?
Apparently, the TRX jump was too fast for their swap process and they tried to cut their loss. It's not the OP's fault.
They have to pay the usual amount, no matter what the loss is. If something is wrong on their part, let them remove the BTG to TRX pair from the offer.
They promised one payment amount, only to later change their minds (due to the continued growth of the TRX price) and offer a refund.
In my opinion, this deserves negative feedback, I will remove it if it is resolved positively, and I mean the payment of the promised amount to the client ~534.150028 TRX
not defending simpleswap, and i would advice everyone to avoid using this shit exchange.
but as i said, technically speaking, they did not scam him. he agreed to all of this by using their swap, it's all in their terms of service.
i'm repeating myself here. them not locking the rate when his TX got confirmed like almost every other instant exchange is funny business, but he literally agreed to the terms of the swap before sending his coins, and they state:
A 'Floating Rate' exchange refers to a traditional cryptocurrency exchange method where an approximate receiving amount is shown at the time the trade order is created. Due to the high volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market, you may receive more or fewer coins than initially expected. This is because the final amount may vary due the terms of the chosen service provider and market fluctuations between the time you initiate the transaction and when we facilitate to complete your exchange. Importantly, there are no strict time or upper amount restrictions for floating rate exchanges, giving you greater flexibility.
...
Due to fast movement and/or volatility in the marketplace and/or other reasons, which may be applicable from time to time, We reserve the right not to execute Your trade order and not to transfer crypto assets under your trade order if the following event occur:
in the even that 20 minutes period for Fixed rate exchanges expire, or
in the event that the actual market rate significantly increases or decreases in relation to the Floating rate indicated by the Services in your trade order, or
in the event of market disruption, or
in any other event, as may be indicated by Us.
Upon Your separate instructions, We will:
return the funds to Your Customer Account;
or execute Your trade order in accordance with the rate newly indicated by the Services;
or proceed otherwise, as reasonably instructed by the User.
and hypothetically speaking, would he have made a thread complaining if the price of TRX had dropped and they offered him more TRX instead?
i don't wanna be harsh, but part of the blame is on him for using a shit exchange and not reading the terms of service.
you are entitled to your opinion @examplens, but i don't think this deserves negative feedback. they didn't steal his coins, he can still get his BTG back.
