Tbh, I don’t see the point forking another meme coin even if it’s DOGE. It’s merely a meme coin that doesn’t have real utility while forking it doesn’t make any use case aside from it’s moon price feature to hype the project.

I do not understand why are you calling this coin of yours a Dogecoin fork. Obviously, it is not as those coins have long been defunct and are not being traded in the market. This coin of yours has its own blockchain and uses proof-of-work that does not mean it is a fork of Dogecoin. You are misleading everyone with wrong information and it will only hurt the project as no one will trust it if you are marketing it in such a manner.

The Original PEPECOIN which happened to be an ERC20 token on launch was never a fork of Doge. I don't know why OP has the audacity to say the pepecoin he has talking about is the only coin one can hodl and not the original one that is more popular.

I don't think this coin is special just because it's fork of dogecoin, there's thousands of dogecoin fork out there and most of them aren't even having FDV of $1 which basically a dead coin.

I'd bet that people would still stick with the OG $PEPE, not to mention it seems this coin only listed in really small exchange, to be frank, the cost of mantaining PoW L1 is high and I don't think it's looking good for this coin.

First, I do not advocate for shilling.

Second, the first PoW Pepecoin in 2016 was decentralized, but not secure. For this reason, they migrated first to PoS then to Ethereum. This Pepecoin is decentralized and secure. It is a logical "and".

Lastly, Pepecoin is a code fork of Dogecoin. The announcement was posted here on Jan. 30th, 2024.
It was forked not to say "it is a fork of Dogecoin", but because Dogecoin is an excellent blockchain, has merged mining support, is tried and tested, developers are familiar with it, and is a great starting point for Pepecoin.

The blockchain has a hashrate of 1.30PH/s. Dogecoin's hashrate, for comparison, is 1.54PH/s.

Pepecoin is very secure.

It is intended to be an alternative for people who prefer blockchains over Ethereum tokens.

Alright, have fun. I concede I didn't know PepeCoin was fully ported to Ethereum, and I was premature with the "scammer" label. Anyone can do or buy what they want, but there's already 50 projects with the word "Pepe" in the name; not to mention the Rare Pepe series on Counterparty, of which RAREPEPECASH is probably the best memetoken for anyone to hold into the long-term.

Technically any cryptocurrency that is not Bitcoin can be called a "shitcoin", going by the strictest of definitions.

I don't know your reason for the advocacy of PEPE, what I am sure of is that fork or not, Dogecoin and Pepecoin are good coins but they can still behave so differently. We've seen enough cases where the hard fork does not relate to the two split coins, so we should not be too particular about the hard fork of a thing.

For me, PEPE coins will rise in the wake of a new bullish season just as Dogecoin which is the pioneer of meme coins will perform brilliantly too over time. However, the best is to make sure we buy these coins cheap, and there is no smartness in holding meme coins or even any altcoins for too long. They will always disappoint.
