I revamped the search filters a bit, including the UI. Now you can also explicitly say that you don't want to return posts from a list of authors, topics, or boards.

- Added exclude authors
- Added exclude topics
- Added exclude boards

- The user filters (that is: authors, quoted users, merits from) now have username searching (you can also search by UID)!

I was looking for a post of mine, where I posted a link with the word "Click" (or "Click!"), probably under a quote. I've tried 3 different Bitcointalk third party search tools, and yours "won"
I found it using https://beta.ninjastic.space/search?content=Click!&author=LoyceV&merit_min=1&limit=20, it's the sixth post in the search results and I had to add "Merit" as a search parameter to find it.
Suggestion: can you add a parameter for the length of the post, or search for posts with a link in it? I knew it was only one word, and I probably did that a few times, so it would be really cool if I could find all posts where I only posted "Click". It might come in handy in the future

I have merited OP, because it's a great implementation overall.

Let me share a small review below:

Excellent UI
Minimal but data-rich. I loved the graphs.

I could do what I wanted without having to search much

Good data
So the statistics and the data seem very useful. The way they are presented is very easy for the user to follow and find what they need. Kudos.

I don't especially like this section, because if you look at the right, it looks like it is vertically scrollable, but I wasn't able to scroll left or right with my touchpad. Perhaps it needs a mouse, I will check later.

I'm very glad to hear.

I can definitely add a length filter and am pretty sure I can do a "has links" option. That requires a reindex though, so I might wait for another idea to do everything at once and save time and storage.

I just like how it looks with the real time updating. A quick look into the forum's activeness.

@TryNinja i think something is broke. https://beta.ninjastic.space/ currently shows "500 Internal Error" and https://ninjastic.space attempt to load chart before it shows blank page instead. Using browser network monitor, all connection to api.ninjastic.space/posts/count?... have status code 500.

For reference, i tried accessing both website using Firefox while using VPN.

We can filter the information in the graphs by week, month and other date. I think that in addition to the graphs, we could have this information more summarized, like you have in the old version, with a small list of the 10 most active boards within the chosen period of time. This would allow for faster reading of the information.


Another point, which I think is a bug. I think the "Most active boards" graph is not working correctly.

I can make a lot of posts in the Portuguese tab, but I don't think I made 10k in the last week...

I think the system is not adjusting this graph according to the defined dates.

Update!

Search post edits

> By default you will now search both the original and edited content of posts. If the original archived version doesn't match the search, you will see the most recent edit version that does!



For example:

1. I create a post with the word "reserved"
2. After a few minutes I edit the post and change its content to "I like ninjas"

Before the update, I would only find this post by searching for "reserved", I would not find it by searching for "ninjas" or "I like ninjas".

Now if you search for "reserved", the original post will show up (as before). But if you search for "ninjas", the edited version will appear.

- Keep in mind that my archive doesn't have all edited posts, only the most recent ones that I've been rescraping after 5 minutes, 30 minutes, and 7 days.
- You can disable this feature by checking "Only search original post" on the "Others" filter button.


New filter options

- Added a with/without URLs filter option (on the "Others" filter button): only return posts that have URLs or that do *not* have URLs.
- Added a fuzzy search filter option (on the "Others" filter button): allow for approximate string matching in content search with Levenshtein Distance

Good update.

Another idea, which I think has been shared before.
In posts, have another "Quote" button. This way, when you click it, it copies the post in quote format to your computer's clipboard, which you can then simply paste into a forum post.

Small update, but I made some experimental improvements to the search algo.

Now the search will priorize exact terms when sorted by relevance. So bitcoin hack should first return this exact phrase rather than posts that have multiple matches of the word bitcoin and hack.

You can better filter that by searching a term between quotes: "bitcoin hack"

Another idea, which I think has been shared before.
In posts, have another "Quote" button. This way, when you click it, it copies the post in quote format to your computer's clipboard, which you can then simply paste into a forum post.

I have some plans for improved actions like this. Working on it really soon.

I did some more testing and noticed a few more details that could be improved.


When using "Quick Command" to search for content, I noticed that it only focuses on posts.
But I think the search could be more comprehensive, and could capture other information.
For example, if I put a user ID there, it doesn't find it. If I put a topic ID, it assumes a post or posts with similar numbers.
I think it would be interesting for him to also capture this information, or at least ask if we are looking for a user/topic/post.


Another point is on the user page.
If I want to choose a date, I can't just click on a day from the previous month. I have to go to the month dropdown, change the month and then choose the day.
For example, if I now want to choose April 27th, I can't just tap that day, I have to change the month and then choose the day.
It would be more user-friendly to be able to select days from the previous month, even if the view was from another month.

I'll soon add an option to show data for all child boards (i.e "Portuguese" board only shows data related to that board, not the child boards Brasil or Portuguese, which have their own page).

Definitely a very nice website. Today I wanted to find something and then I remembered that TryNinja has created a forum search website, visited his profile, checked his ann threads and here I'm now. This website is very handy. I can choose author, quote and put keywords in search content bar. I can also choose topic, board, date and many complicated details on merited posts.
I couldn't find what I was looking for via Bitcointalk's search engine but I succeeded with this one, thank you ninja!

How long it take you to build this website? User interface looks very nice. Are you using a CSS framework? What language do you use on backend? I simply want to know it because I'm interested in front-end and back-end development.

Few months because I'm not working on it full time. I'm coding it in Svelte (using Sveltekit), Tailwind for css, elasticsearch for the database.
