Wish it was seven "thousand" like the topic name says. It's 7 million. By comparison, the total amount of employed people in all of USA is about 160 million, that means losing 7 million jobs, would make it 155 million give or take, that's nearly 5% gone in a single bad deal.
And the total unemployed people are 7 million already, so that means it would double. That is not okay and we can't really consider that as good at all, we are seeing that being a terrible thing and we can't consider that as good. He is not going to care though, he is doing something and he will find a way to say that he did something great and if anything bad happens he will just blame it on Biden or democrats or whatever else scapegoat he could find.
It is not something like 7 million people lost their job. employment opportunities in the global market are continuously declining. ILO recently revised its previous global employment growth rate forecast, stating that by 2025, 53 million new job opportunities might be created, which is 7 million lower than the previous prediction. The main reason for such decline is ongoing geopolitical conflicts and rising trade tensions. Oxford Economics is blaming US-China trade war for the biggest reason behind the decline in job creation in the global market. They published a study recently that said the US-China trade war has led to a peak loss of 245000 US jobs. If USA and China can take effective steps to reduce such tariffs between them, it will be able to increase job creation in the global market, which will improve the economic situation and at the same time help increase economic stability in the global market.

The trade war is causing a lot of problems but Trump is not an idiot.
I doubt that! Trump surely acts like an idiot. He needs to understand one simple fact - He cannot keep the world at his gun point just because US excels in military technologies and get his way! That is precisely what Trump is trying to do to the world. It won't be long before the jobs will leave the shore. Manufacturing companies are not idiots. Producing things in America costs 200% to 300% more, compared to the cost of production in China or India or any other developing countries. Why would a global company increase their cost of production in this insanely competitive market? He thinks, just because USA is big on military and on economic power, doesn't mean that we are going to see the world be ok with it. That is the most important part and we should realize that USA will end up with the short end of the stick here. So, if we are going to see things change and USA steps back then maybe they will do better but that doesn't mean we should consider all of this should be whatever we can see here. If we do that then all we have to do is keep wait for it and it can't really be hopeful about it changing, just hold and let them be and do not trade with them and they will soon realize that Trump was a moron to make this tariff war with the world. It is not really that hard, we just trade with each other instead of them.

Anyone with a good educated guess on how many people live kinda off the grid? Doing occasional jobs, mine a little, trade something and lay low. Every country has them, in the 3rd world many countries have an about 75% informal workforce.

Nothing stays the same, and time can change everything. Not long ago, Great Britain and France were the strongest military and economic powers in the world. Today, the United States is the world's largest power, and tomorrow, no one knows, everything may change. In any case, returning to your idea of "not dealing with the United States in trade," this is somewhat difficult because it requires an alliance of all the countries of the world against the United States and refusing to deal with it. Such a consensus is difficult to achieve. Furthermore, the United States is the largest economic power and the largest capital in the world, and major companies need to market their products in the large American market.

Actually, power changes with time and no nation remains on the top of the pole. That has been illustrated by history more than once. The US may seem the power currently both militarily and economically but that is not the reason why the world needs to nod its head and accept whatever they do. Such trade wars and aggressive policies may be short term successes of some and in the long run it is the country that can be isolated.
Nevertheless, the total severing of the trade relationship with the US is much easier said than done. It is connected to most economies and the world is well interconnected at the market. Other nations which may not support the US policies also require entry into that market. Hence although there may be opposition, outright separation is not likely to occur in the near future. Or as time goes by and other countries get stronger with each other, I guess within a certain amount of time, the balance will turn and perhaps the world is not as US driven anymore.

You're right that the United States of America is the strongest countries both in terms of military and even economy doesn't mean that every nation in the world will follow and do what ever that they say we should not forget history right from the ancient times alot of kingdoms and nations has come to power and has gone down so the United States should not sees it self as a God among the nations because what the United States is doing under Donald Trump is clearly stating that they decide the final say of the global affairs. The consequences of this trade and tariffs attack on the rest of the world by the United States of America is going to be felt by the United States of America on the long run because this policy has brought a lot of strains in the relationship between the United States of America and the rest of the world because most countries has started looking for different trading alternatives while others has also placed counter tariffs the truth is that if all nations of the world stop doing business with the United States of America they will regret this their actions

It’s a big mess right now & it’ll hit Americans in the pocket as well as limit job openings. These import tariffs will force companies to pass price increases onto the customer so it’s not just job losses but also an increase in cost of living for the people who are lucky enough to still have a job. Hopefully this all comes to an end soon as trade deals are hopefully agreed.

Jobs are plentiful in the US just the US Citizens don't like those. So they employ illegals.
That's true. I often laugh when people complain that there are no jobs. There are jobs, really, tons of them but the problem is that people don't like jobs where they have to move their ass. You really want to work? There is no warehouse near people that isn't looking for an employee, there is no delivery company or a postal service that is not looking for a new employee but these jobs don't pay you money in nothing, you have to actually work hard, so people don't like that and prefer to jobless instead of working there, that's why we employ illegals, they do the job that locals don't want to do. The condition in their countries are so bad that these jobs, that we don't do here, are a blessing for them (and that's very sad).

Are there not some US citizens working in other nations? Those are the people likely to lose their jobs due to the Tarrifs. They'll have to go back to the US where Trump wants all plants to be built. Jobs will be enormous for US citizens in the country. The diasporas need to be back home for employment -- world leaders are relieving themselves from international aids.

It's a global impact and almost every country that imports and exports their products to the US can't skip the tariff effect. While Trump aims to live the American dream once again. But the retaliation won't be for everyone. I guess that everyone needs to find the skill that we deserve and are pandemic and tariff war proof. Because that's how we should survive with all of the global instability that the little fish like us are mostly affected by these war cry that they do to each other.

A few days ago, the US announced that the trade deal with China had been signed. The world has escaped the trade war between the two biggest economies. The deal has also been sealed with the UK. The US is still negotiating with India, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and the EU. Trump knows that it is impossible to bring all the industries to the US. The cost of production will be high because labour is not cheap in the US. With the stringent immigration policies shutting out illegal immigrants who offer cheap labour, industries will shut down. Existing ones will produce goods at a higher price, thereby causing inflation. This tariff war is just to get a fair trade deal and not to relocate industries to the US.

And just wonder where the loss of jobs projection is coming from when the US will be benefitting more from most of these deals. Trump is a business man and will never enter shy deal that does not put America first in terms of profits and the economy. The people spreading the feuds are those who does not like Trump for which I understand because it is not really easy to like him since people love politically correct people more. Trump does not sound politically correct, he is blunt and decisive and there is no way he will not be hated by some people.

Even if you solve all problems that are derived from the tariff war, you still have to think about the AI problem: Not only the more mechanical jobs are being automatized for years now, but now with the AI becoming better it will be even more difficult to find jobs. The CEO from Crowdsource said like 50% of their company is now AI run. So that is 50% less jobs on a single company. This will only get worse. At some point it will be impossible to get a job, so I don't know how they pretend to solve this, unless they give a universal basic income, otherwise we will have civil unrest and then we will have a lot of angry people with pitchforks and torches demanding a solution.

It all comes down to income which is the reason why US citizens don't want to do the so called "plentiful jobs" Willy claims exists in the US. In the capitalist nation, everyone is trying to maximize their profitability. One of the ways to do that is to pay their employees less and less money. A US citizen who has to pay a shittone of money in taxes, bills, rent, groceries, gas, etc. to stay alive is not capable of doing a lot of such works that can't cover half of their cost of living. However, an illegal immigrant who doesn't pay taxes and doesn't have any other choice and is living with 20 other illegal immigrants in a rathole is more than willing to be paid a little and do all those jobs.

A report by the United nations has projected that the United States will lose over seven thousand jobs by the end of 2025 as a result of the trade war which is not favourable to any of the parties involved , It's Obvious that alot of business has been affected by the show of power by the United States of America as most businesses has been shortdown due to the cost of production which is attributed to the trade war the trump administration is Bent on destroying the American economy with this trade face-off with the rest of the world because with what started as a joke as tariff was only limited to Mexico, Canada and China trump has extended the tariff to the rest of the world.
If over seven million jobs could be lost in just a year then imagine how many jobs that will be lost in Trump's four year tenure in office trump should reconsider this tariffs and remove this unnecessary trade war that is causing more Harm than good to the American economy and the citizens finally I want to summarize by saying that there is an African proverb that says that no matter how big a tree is in the forest it needs other trees to make a forest the trump administration should know that they can't wage war with the rest of the world and become successful because no matter big a country is that country needs other countries for survival
The most alarming thing out of all Trump does is alienate even allies against the USA. I could understand if he was solely picking on China because of the trade imbalance or even targeted specific industries with say the EU that they unfairly manipulate, but to impose blanket tariff just reeks of incompetence and laziness. He doesn't have a clue about how global trade collectively works in Americas favor. Yet the ripples and side effects of this strategy go far, he is killing the American tourist industry by being so extremely unfriendly to everyone. He is acting like a dictator and because he has stacked the supreme court is likely to get away with it his whole term. We can only hope he doesn't find a way to manipulative himself into being president for life - but that would not be a surprise at this point.

The US owns a solid market that whatever company that makes it through over there would see massive sales. This is between the leaders and manufacturing companies. As citizens or employees it's best to have a plan B or side hustle to tackle challenges that sprouts out with no prior warning or comes instantly to hurt people's jobs. Holding a valuable skill is fine, investing in time is also great to be on a safer side. I noticed that most of our problems hit us harder at the first few months, but after a while it dies down, so in times of crisis it's best to set a standard that helps keep us in shape for a while till everything settles globally.

UN International Labor Organization has cut its global employment forecast for 2025 by 7 million. It happened cause trade-war disruptions and geopolitical tensions. I think it really affect to people cause 53 million new jobs are expected instead of 60 million. And its not only a problem for Canada, Mexico, but also Asia Pacific jobs bind to usa demand are at risk.
Actually I think UN's 7 million is not just only propaganda, I've seen well known economists like Larry Summers have warned of a inherent recession and the loss of 2 million domestic jobs due to tariffs.

American? It will hit world wide. UN has expected 60 million jobs to be created, but due to the geopolical, and recession. They cut it to the 53 million jobs to be generated in total. It's wrong if you assume American is the only parthy who will be affected. That will harm not only US, but all of nations especially those with weak economic.

Jobs are plentiful in the US just the US Citizens don't like those. So they employ illegals.
That's true. I often laugh when people complain that there are no jobs. There are jobs, really, tons of them but the problem is that people don't like jobs where they have to move their ass. I understand that they don't want to do it but that doesn't mean that there are no jobs and that's the reason why you lay in your sofa, eating chips. The reality is following, you either get a skill, become professional into it and earn a very good amount of money or if you are unskilled, you have to work those plentiful jobs and stop saying there are no jobs. If you are skilled, there are lots of jobs, I mean, professional people are very hard to find in absolutely every niche. Truly motivated and smart people have no job shortage.
By the way, living with 20 other illegal migrants in a rathole is a terrible life and there are lots of people who live that way. But you mentioned a good point, illegals pay no taxes and sometimes they really earn more than legal citizens. I've seen that in my life and I was shocked.

It is not the tariffs that are the cause of bad global economics, but they are a good boogeyman to blame. By the way, living with 20 other illegal migrants in a rathole is a terrible life and there are lots of people who live that way. But you mentioned a good point, illegals pay no taxes and sometimes they really earn more than legal citizens. I've seen that in my life and I was shocked.
It happens both in the USA and the EU at the detriment of many and for the benefit of the few. Illegal migrants should not be a thing, that is a problem that can be solved easily with force.
