Having a house help is not necessary although ot depends on your daily activities if you're a busy type of person then it is necessary, but you should also have it in mind that you're putting certain things at risk like your properties, boundaries, and probably relationships.
But if it is professional house helps it will be less risky but will cost a lot as well.

It becomes normal not just because there are people who also wants to work as domestic helper. The people in Singapore for example is not going to do the house chores and take care of their elderly as they also have future plans for themselves. They are pursuing careers.

Those who has the need to make money while has the passion to do house chores and take care of kids or elderly, I guess can do the work for them. If domestic helper is an industry, then it must have been worth it for them that middle class can pay high.

But what I know is they also live in the same house. Isn't this a modern day slavery?

I don't think if house helpers job should be looked at in the perspective of a modern slavery reason being it is not by force it is a voluntary job acceptance of which they are paid salaries or wages, it is always as bad as most people thought some house helpers are being treated as family in terms showing cares and concerns about their overall well-being that is beyond their expectations, normally no one will wish to work as a house helpers but conditions has made people to pick up such jobs and which of course is better than begging or stealing, having a house helper is only necessary for those that are in need of it and I don't think is a bad idea when there no one to take up such responsibilities.

Having house helpers is very necessary if there's need for that,but if there is no need for that it's also not necessary.
When I said it's necessary when there's need for that,is because some people due to the nature of their job, does not have Chance to their domestic work and even to take care of their children is also a problem,so people like this really deserve house helpers,but if you did not fall into this categories of people who doesn't have time for their home and children,i think there's no need for that.
House helpers ,are in every countries, just that there duties may not be the same,for example in my country some of those house helpers are not really for a domestic work alone ,but also your sales girls or sales boys,but in other civilized countries, house helpers can be their nanny and has nothing to do with their businesses of their boss or,you can be their cook and anything domestic work you can do that and that is all..

Yea, I agree with you that to some families, getting a house help is necessary. Naturally, I believe some people were not really trained to do much of house chores, and at such, growing up and owning there own family, been able to handle such house works may become a little bit of much more worrisome for them, and so they easily get a house help that would help them out with there domestic work daily.

Some too, due to there nature of work, it might be difficult to be able to attend to your house work. I mean after sitting in the office all day attending to different files and all of that, some women Come back home already exhausted and have little or no strength to handle themselves, let alone do all the cooking and cleaning work everyday. Waking up also the next morning to attend to all the work at home before leaving for work. At this point, it just becomes necessary they get a house help. So, to some persons or family, getting a house help becomes a necessary agenda and I don't see anything bad in that as long as they can pay the house help and also not give bad treatment to that house helper.

A lot of them have house helpers and this seems to be common in countries in southeast asia. It seems like families of middle class from other cultures do not have house helpers.

Though having a house help it should depend on the nature of work your are doing,if you leave alone and the kind of job you do is not demanding I don't think you actually need a house help because you are not always stressed out ,than someone who always returns from work late all the time ,I think have a house help is very vital then , because your husband will be at your neck you should always prepare food for him,so having a house help is very necessary then to avoid issues at home .

But in many cases the husband of the house abuse some of the house help,they always like to force them in having something to do with them in bed ,this is a bad and evil act and as a good and responsible man you are not supposed to treat a house help in such manner ,this is the more reason why many doesn't like house help.

I don't think that having house helpers come as a result of limited jobs. Are they not paying the house helpers too? they are paid for it so there's no big deal. There is a way house helpers are even employed now such that they have days they will be active in their duty and days they won't come for work, so someone who is eager to increase her income can get a job where she will be working on her off days from her domestic help job. Domestic help cannot be normalized because it's not everyone in the middle class that employs a house help since they can balance up their work and still perform domestic duties without needing any assistance from a house help. The thing is just that people are so lazy, when they have a very comfortable job the next is to employ a domestic help with the mentality that since they are always busy with work, they can't return home to the house chores.

Nothing wrong in engagement of a house help, mostly a family where both couple have jobs that keeps them busy, secondly house where there is kids or children who can't take care of themselves is very stressful, as they will be doing many things that will make the house untidy.
The only challenge involved in house help is security because most of they who don't have good training when living in your house just as most people keep their house help with them can run certain information that will hurt the family, some as female become a threat to the wife of the man as many man take advantage of them.

Trust have become an expensive thing among people because of what the word has turn into, you will see how humble someone is and you will think that the person is as pure as there appearance look but when you see there other side you will get the greatest disappointment. This was something that people usually hire someone they do not no on there home and they remain humble and dedicated but now the world has changed we no longer trust appearance and gesture because those things can be acted, so actually aside from getting the person from any agency they should also endeavor to watch them as they're working under there roof to be certain of whom they hired .

The organization of domestic helps in the middle class can fortify class divisions, it sometimes shows economic inequality where labor comes people with lower income. This can also sustain dependency and social ranking unless it is governed with fair rights and mutual respect to define the relationship.

For me, having house helpers really depends on your lifestyle. If you’re working long hours or have a family to take care of, a helper can make things a lot easier, less stress, more time for rest or bonding. But if you live alone or have a manageable space, it’s not really a must. I think it’s more about comfort

On how expensive a maid can be It largely depends on the location. In many third worlds house maids are really not that expensive to afford for middle class people and there are factors that makes it so, which I really don't have the time to share.

Before you employ a maid you must have to profile them, know where they come from and someone related to them. You don't have to employ any random person as a maid, that's when you should harbour fears.

I've never had a "house helper" in my life and although I do know some people who have, I don't have a ton of respect for them.  Part of being a man (at least how I was raised) is being able to take care of your property.  My father is in his late 70s and still spends nearly every day working on a large property.  I do all my landscaping work myself, and most of my home repairs.  Given my father's example, I would like to keep this up until old age if possible.  However, I'm not going to lie...  Some of these houses I'm looking at have me thinking I would need to hire at least an occasional maid so I don't spend the rest of my life dusting, mopping, and vacuuming. 

I share same sentiment with you. My Father did everything for the family with the assistant of my older siblings. I am from a polygamous family. I had said from childhood that I will not hire a maid, that I'll do everything myself. But recently, I have began to understand that I am becoming physically lazy to handle domestic tasks while being mentally active. Yes In most countries in Africa having a house help can be dangerous at times as we have heard of criminal cases involving house helps but that's why most people don't appoint random people rather they seek house help from well known families to avoid such issues.

People who seek house help are mostly wealthy families that are lazy to work or too busy and payments are mostly fixed by the employers, they offer whatever they want and it depends on how generous they are.

If you have a need to get an house help, that is fine but when you don't have a serious need for an house help, you can take you mind outta it since it's not necessary. I think house help is necessary when the both parents are working, aside this reason I don't think it's necessary.  Some people might say it's very expensive to keep a house help, but when the both parents are working they definitely have more income for the family and that might help for the salary of the house help and also keep the family running.
Personally I would prefer my spouse to own a business of her own, so it gives her time to run the family and also have time for the kids, because I feel it's better for the kids to spend more time with their parents rather than a house help.

yeah bor!! house helpers make more sense when both parents are working and barely have time to handle house chores or take care of the kids in that case it is more of a necessity than a luxury. but if one parent kinda has a flexible job or works from home i think it is better to handle the home directly. kids learn a lot from spending time with their parents and that bond can not really be replaced by a house help but truly having a helper is not wrong !! it just depends on each family’s situation and how they manage their time and responsibilities as well
