I have heard that many people carve their seed phrase on stone. And they use different techniques to save it.

Indeed, there are metal plates specially prepared for the purpose to save seed words by engraving with a special metal pen. I can't tell what kind of metal used because if it's a known one this means anybody can make it by his own hands.
Personally i don't think it's a good solutions to save all seed words in one location unless it's encrypted with more words as suggested above. There is no metal protected from burn or other kinds of damage.

Phew ! After looking at the OP's registration date, which was January 2025, I took the time to read the posts he'd written over the course of the year. I was sure that people coming to the forum, literally from the very first day, would learn how to create a Bitcoin wallet and, consequently, about seed phrases and their proper storage.

Is good to save your secret phase where you can access, or tell someone you trust so much. Joke with it and all your assets are gone.  This your approach is strange, inserting it in waterproof and inside container is very local method, I haven't seen it before. You're saving it the way out forefathers saved money in their days. I hope someone won't throw away the container, before it will be hard for people to check things in containers when they see one.

Mine send mine to my brother's mail, I trust him and I know it will be safer there than anywhere else. I lost my very first wallet because I wrote it then and I was so careless to know where I kept it. Till date I can't place hands on Where I kept it.

Possibly you misunderstood my point here. I do not doubt the fact that one can not store their keys in the above places you have mentioned. And as a matter of fact, these storage systems you have mentioned are prone to hacking at any point in time, and if that happens, the assets are gone because anyone who tries gaining access to accounts holding keys to wallets with assets automatically can be able to do away with the assets.

Now, my point is, as you have quoted, as a wallet holder, you can freely save your keys wherever that is safe for you to do so as long as it can not be easily compromised by anybody, and besides, you, as the owner of the wallet is free to make the choice of storage you deem fit to store your assets.

Yeah, I might have misunderstood you about that. So, if it's about the place where we can keep our seed phrases, it's still an issue for the others for how and where they are putting it.

Saving your seed phrase in ways that best suits you is not the best idea because many have saved their seed phrase in their emails, sheets, notebooks and other resources they have access to always and others can also have access to when compromised and it didn’t go well for them. So desist from using any method that best suits you which you find very easy to access back. Making it so simple may cost you more to lose your funds in the long run. Make it hard to grasp and taken over by anyone except yourself.

As stated by some members here, you can adopt any of them that you feel is comfortable for you to go with, but the easiest is just to write down your keys and store them in any safe place where only you have access to, so that nobody gets them from there so easily. This is what I do, and I have my keys intact till today. Only I have access to my keys, and it is safe where I keep them.

Having your seed phrase written down and safe in just one place is not the best approach to have a safe wallet. I don’t think no matter how securely you can keep your phrase, there can be compromise especially if you are not living alone but staying with your family. Wallet security is the first step of having a safe investment in Bitcoin. When storing seed phrases, you should always think about how to keep them the most secure. Many people write their wallet seed phrases in a notebook, while many others carve them on a stone, but no matter how you keep them, you must keep the written seed phrase very safe so that no second or third person can steal it. You have a genuine concern if I were to tell you, especially if you have a substantial amount in your wallet. Well, first ensure the security of your wallet, because if you lack in security in it, even the security of the seed phrases will not help you.

Now, you don't need to go through the mile of carving your seed phrases on stones. My advice: write your seed phrases where you like, but let there be duplicates of at least 2 of them. Here is the catch: you might have 12 words in them, you can write the words with some missing words in those places while you memorise the missing words, or write them in other places.

Still, make it more than one copy in case you forget or misplace it/them.

The problem here with storing the seed phrases on your memory is that it could be dangerous in such a way that if you eventually forget it you've lost access to your funds, except for the fact that the two numbers which you will missed to write down together that will be stored in your memory will be two stored in two different places or more.

Without getting to make this much complicating Op, that's literally a medium of customizing your seed phrase in other to keep it safe from disastrous occurrences such as fire and water eruption which may have the capacity to destroy (erase) those words if written in objects such as papers while in electronic (internet device) can also be disasterous with the affirmation threats. So you'll have higher chances to keep them safe if engraved it in durable materials to resist water, fire and even physical tamper that could lead to damages of the seed phrase from the storage system.

I think you need to also understand that your seed phrase must be absolutely complete as generated by the BIP39 wallet mechanism before it can be valid to give access to your wallet. Your seed phrase would either be 12 or 24 words and for stronger security you must provide them all if you must have access to your wallet. And to keep your wallet secured you must store your seed phrase in a very tight secured corner where only you can have access to it and don't trust your seed phrase to third parties.

If someone get 2 or more of your seed phrase I'm sure that they're not going to harm you, come to think of it. Does it mean that you mistakenly disclose one or two of your seed phrase to people? If that's the case then i think you're still safe, that's if they didn't get the full seed phrase. And sure carving your seed phrase in stone is also a nice way of saving it because if you choose to write it somewhere like a shit of paper and if water mistakenly splash on it the whole thing will just fade away and sometimes it can even be affected by flood that's for those that live in those places that easily get flooded. Me personally I have my seed phrase written in different places to avoid one particular point of failure.

Do it offline. I don't think you can be sure enough about the security if you created the seed phrase online.
Usually, install a fresh OS + the necessary seed generation tool, wallets... and finally save the seed. I do everything offline, and after all, I destroyed this session.

Are you opening it in a public place? Opening it in a public place would be even more dangerous, as we know there are many eyes and lenses in public places. I always avoid displaying my seedphrase in public because I feel unsafe doing so. There is a chance that what we do in public will be exposed, and the most obvious reason is cameras. If I were you, I would create a new wallet in a private place, and keep the seedphrase as safe as possible.

Some friends here have given you references for storing your seedphrase safely, so please pay attention. In addition from me, I recommend storing it in a paper wallet, writing it down on paper (make sure there are no mistakes), then storing it in a safe-deposit box or steel vault (if possible). If you want to create your wallet, do it at home, create it offline.

This practice will give you safer wallet creation and avoid possible online threats as well as curious eyes and even cameras at public places. If you do bad wallet creation, the wallet backup process later won't improve security of your wallet and your fund. Passphrase was posted above by some users but it is not an encryption. It is called seed phrase extension with an extra word. But you can decide to encrypt your passphrase with an open source tool or you can encrypt it on computer if you have it on a USB flash or memory card but detached from the device and stored in somewhere safe.

i don't think there is anyone who will want to even guess a seed phrase because that is like the most impossible thing to do, and losing their coin is a result of them sharing it with scammers or they will lose it, and these are part of the reason why most of the issue is caused by does that are holding because for some time now is always the same story when it comes to seed phrase, and people are always clicking on links also that grant scammers access so it takes more than just keeping your seed phrase it, and this is why people need to be educated specially when it comes to seed phrase keeping and security,.

Oh yess this is what i wxactly meant without focus on the difference between seed extension and seed encryption. Both of them are additional security layers that can be considered essential with all kinds of seed saving. Without any of them, it's considered that they are exposed to potential risks.

If you want to keep your Bitcoin seed phrase safe then saving it or keeping it in many places is good although there is a risk factor that is attached as you can simply forget or expose some of one's you have kept but I think many people also will take that chance. For me I think saving it offline in somewhere that is free from attack is the best thing to do, I believe there are tools that like metal seed phrase which is very secure and safe from many sudden events is okay rather than writing it down on many papers and keeping it almost every because of the fear that one might get lost so better having many which for me is also risk of exposure.
