There are risks in Bitcoin investment also but we can say that Bitcoin carries less risk as compared to risk associated with alts. Being a risk taker isn't anything special and one need to think from his mind and still take a better decision. Instead of taking a risk and investing significant or majority of the portfolio in any altcoins isn't the right thing. Shitcoin or memecoin is the coin I avoid the most, I'm not never buying but the amount of money I allocate is really money that I'm ready to lose. For altcoins like Eth, bnb and solana, it's different, there are still risks, but with what they have shown it also shows a great potential for the future.

For someone who’s still in early phase of bitcoin accumulation it’s better to focus more with the DCA method of buying bitcoin either weekly or monthly basis, sometimes too when an extra or additional money comes in they can decide to lump sum with it.
