It's a normal reaction and even happens in trading which is called revenge trading. Once you loss you start thinking of not just how to cover the loss but beat and start taking more risk than you'd normally not. The last bet I played was on Tuesday and a match athletic bilbao was the only one that slit my bet. I didnt do any revenge because of control. I just wait now for better games I can engage in.

When you say “gamblers,” it refers to all of us, which is wrong. Use the proper term, addicted gamblers is probably the right one.
Nobody should be exempted for chasing out lost, if you are not longer doing it right now, you have done it previously, so many persons have chase out loses long time ago before they realize that chasing out loses it's not something that will profit them and is something that will indict them more in the gambling that is why so many have to give that a break So it is based on experience that made many people know to chase their losses, because they knew that more you are chasing your losses that is how you become addicted in the gambling indirectly so that is why so many persons stop doing that because there I have gathered a lot of courage and experiences through gambling. Once we begin pursuing the losses we are only digging our own grave by creating a fear of loss which worsens our judgment further. Its associated feelings are usually the cause of buying on impulse without thought of the long term impacts. We should know that although we may be through the bad places by not giving up at the right time, it may be more prudent than losing our head in more losses. No decisions can be better made than ones that have thought behind.

According to research, chasing losses is actually more of a psychological matter, than it is, a logical one. Apparently, when you lose money, your brain triggers a so- called ' recovery mode' that makes you want to get/ win it back, just cause you don't want the day to end in the negative. It becomes less about the game and more about the chase. At that moment your ego's trying to fix the loss. This might look like a big motivator as the individual is simply refusing to give up, but, it usually almost always amounts to bigger loss, desperate moves/ decision, and more losses. Research shows that most addiction cases start from just one bad day of loss that was tried to be fixed/ repaired, instead of being accepted.
After losing, loss aversion becomes very active in our minds, the sadness of losing has a much greater impact than the joy of winning. As a result, our brains are stressed and try to correct it. This is when impulsivity & craving come together. You will notice that when gamblers are driven by the desire to recoup their losses, they make even riskier decisions, try to play faster & increase their bets, even though there is no established logic to it. This recovery mode often does not end well. As a result, they lose more, suffer from greater regrets and increase their stress The only way is to not see the desire to recoup your losses as a sign of patience or persistence at all, it is most often a trap. If you want to know the right strategy for gambling, I would say that setting a bankroll limit, learning to accept losses & knowing when to walk away are very important

At that moment your ego's trying to fix the loss.
The ego might be trying to fix the loss, but what prevails on the individual during this situation is the primitive energy of 'id', which drives the gambler to do impulsive acts, like for an example, chasing losses through further bets. The recovery mode is real, and everyone here has probably already experienced it at least once. Personally, I had to be really strong to not let 'id' take control of myself, and to make super ego prevail on this situation. Only after few weeks I started accepting the fact I had lost and that it was over, so I could move ahead. If you find yourself on the same scenario, keep strong and aware that your struggle won't last forever. At some point, you will elaborate the loss and reach a state of emotional internal balance again.

That’s right, when people starts chasing losses, the problem shifts from just financial to also emotional problems. As soon as gamblers allow fear and frustration to set in, judgment becomes impaired, patience disappears, and at this point, any single action you make becomes an attempt to undo your past mistakes and not a rational decision to make the experience worth the while for you, and this often the easiest route to addiction, since you no longer use your rational thinking but allow emotions to interfere in every decision you make.

The transformation of financial to emotional stress proves the strength of loss to the thinking process and makes us not forget that emotions may make one blind. As the level of emotional stress becomes high, behaviours find it easy to change to a wish of repairing the past. This gives way to repeat and harmful trends. Through clarity of mind there is a possibility of lowering the impulsive urges and keeping under control the situations till it becomes more serious problems.

But I think almost every gambler has done that. Especially those who are still enthusiastic in the early stages of gambling. Chasing losses commonly happens to bettors who do not have control over the limits they should set for themselves in their gambling activities. However, some gamblers start to realize it and do not make the same mistakes. Of course, this process is related to the level of awareness gamblers have about the risks of their actions.

One of the cause of gambling addiction is chasing loses as a result of not accepting defeat. The inability of people not accepting defeat at the earliest stage but keep on gambling and hopping they are going to recover their loses is what causes addiction, and it leads to more loses. Self motivation without self control is the reason why people fall to that trap of chasing loses and getting addicted.

Losses are very natural to be angry at as our brain perceives the loss to be significantly bigger. Human beings experience a lot of pain when they lose as compared to when they win. This is the reason why the majority of wrong choices are made on losing and then without considering the reason why, we just cogitate about one thing: we have to somehow recover the loss. I think the true strength of gambling is to manage yourself. You have to establish a boundary and in case you pass that limit, you must overcome your ego and stand. It is extremely hard to embrace a loss, however it is what will protect you against the loss. I believe that when a person is able to control his emotions, one will be able to make far better choices in other aspects of life without being a gambler.

Self motivation without self control is the reason why people fall to that trap of chasing loses and getting addicted. Undeniably, chasing losses is one of the most common signs experienced by gamblers and is often the turning point that turns a gambler into an addict. This must be recognized and addressed immediately, as chasing losses will exacerbate the situation, causing the gambler not only to lose control but also to lose consciousness. If these signs are not addressed promptly, they will be detrimental to the gambler's well-being and finances. Therefore, it is crucial to gamble consciously and recognize that gambling and fatigue are part of the problem that must be accepted. Mindful playing has the potential to allow you to control the game, rather than the game controlling you.

So, if you lose, it's better to get your money back from another source, for example, find a part-time job where you can be guaranteed to earn money and make up for your losses. Yes, it will take time and effort, but at least you won't be risking anything. But if you lose again and again, you will have to work harder and harder. If you understand this simple pattern, it is easy to avoid falling into a dangerous addiction, because no one wants to work for free all the time. Ultimately, you will come to the conclusion that it is better to play strictly with your allocated deposit and make no further attempts to win back your losses.

When a gambler starts out with the mindset of making money from gambling, that’s the point where they’ll eventually begin chasing losses every time they lose. Logically, no one wants to lose money, but if someone only bets what they can afford to lose and treats gambling purely as entertainment or just a way to test their luck, I’m sure the urge to chase losses won’t even show up, because losing $1 or $5 doesn’t mean anything. From my point of view, the conclusion is every kind of addiction always has a trigger, and one of the biggest triggers in gambling addiction is the mindset of trying to make money from it, which leads a gambler to being unable to accept their losses.

Do you know what contribute for chasing of our losses, it is because we fail not to budget for our gambling, budgeting for a gambling that will make us not to be over curious for looking for a way in order to recover what we have lost, so the only strategies for you to apply so that you cannot be interested of pursuing your losses whenever you lose is to have a budget for your gambling and when you lose you know that such amount of money is specifically meant for gambling... But when you began to be addicted and the gambling that will make you to be pursuing what you have lost and the on the process of pursuing it it will land you to lose more, so the best strategies is to make your plans first.

When I was addicted to gambling, I forgot about the losses and start thinking of another tactics that I can use to make money from gambling. The gambling addiction that I had was more about thinking of ways that I can make money from gambling and not about chasing losses. If the day is over, I do not think about losses the following day but I continue to lose because I think I can be smarter than the gambling sites but I was wrong. It wouldn't be wrong gambling is an addiction. When people get used to and take gambling seriously. they become so blinded they don't care about profit or loss They lose their fear of winning and losing gambling is playing based on risk. person loses or wins does not gamble and does not have this experience it is better for him not to gamble because if he goes for fun he will lose his own mentality. he will continue to gamble every day in an attempt to win which will lead to further losses If a person has control over some mental ability he can gamble because it will not matter to him whether he wins or loses. gambling is played by experts who have experience in it. They also have more chances of winning when a Responsible person gambles, even if he loses happily continue his game

We should not accept any form of behaviour that places us in a dangerous state. For a gambler to begin thinking of covering his losses he must have lost severely and might be facing an economic hardship and had to risk the last penny with them to gamble and this makes them to chase losses. Revenge bet is a harmful bet, it is you trying to beat the casino and the truth is you van not beat the casino cause the edge is what you do not have. Letting it go and shooting your shot for another day is the beneficial idea

The uncertainty of not knowing whether they are going to win in the next trial is whay keeps gamblers going. They can keep on chasing hoping that they would either make profit or recover what they have lost but this has a lot of damages it can cause im the process of doing it. The risk of getting addicted would be very high and you are going to spend an enormous amount of time and money

Research shows that most addiction cases start from just one bad day of loss that was tried to be fixed/ repaired, instead of being accepted.
It starts from that loss and then it develops and if the gambler becomes consistent in their day to day gambling activity, it will go on and result into addiction. And so the research are true about someone who become addicted to gambling, it all starts with simple losses, simple bad days. But you'll never know how a gambler reacts to these because it's the majority that don't want to take their losses and instead, they want to recover almost everything that they have lose. Because what they say is that winners doesn't quit, and so they're applying that to themselves.

I have felt in that position spelling more losses and continuously until I always double my bet, I have passed that period that is why now I do not play casino too often anymore, I prefer sports betting which is much lighter and the risk is not too big, only placing 1-3 hands a day is enough

No, that isn't the main reason you don't pursue losses after losing the sports bet. After losing a lot of money at gambling, nobody can completely control themselves in this world. I firmly believe that you are able to maintain self-control and never chase losses because you never bet on the sport more than you can afford to lose

It's certain that when we gamble, we'll feel the urge to win, and for those who can't control themselves, chasing wins is a likely outcome. The fear is that this desire to win will lead to greater losses, given that in gambling, we as players only have a low chance of winning, which can lead to more losses than wins. Some gamblers realize their actions are wrong and decide not to repeat them. However, when they return to gambling, the urge to win will drive them back, and this can become a bad habit if they don't learn from the experience.
