This seems pretty interesting and easy to learn. I can't wait to see a demo for this to understand how much learning is required to be successful at it. I'm curious as to what other tools you can put in or features like a friends system or something. Maybe responsible gaming features as well, because it's gambling like self-exclusion, bet limits, etc

My current idea is a 2-3% fee on cash outs. On top of that, can make money from cosmetics like skins,battle passes,and many fancy stuff beside gambling. I'd like to make more thing as possible but now I just focus on the core gameplay first.

In my perspective, I want to tell you PvP Gambling Stuff. Like these, the market was really failed cause seeing so many casino are trying to bring a PVP stuff into the gambling but in the end there is no enough player and revenue are being make.

Regular gambling activity still being dominated by the user. They more prefer like these

If he doesn't try, he'll never know if it will work or not
Being a simple game with low stakes, working well and requiring only four players for each match, it could work

You can observe MMORPG games I recommend one that contains many ideas for your idea, Albion Online.
In 2025, MMORPG.com named it Game of the Year, set in fantasy, and you can dress however you like to wear the weapons you like best, fitting different pieces of equipment based on your skills.
It's interesting to customize your skills based on the items you wear, so you always make the PVP different and very dynamic.
So in this case it will be the player's skills that will determine the winner, it is not to those who wear the coolest or paid armor, but those who make good use of their moves.
Try it and maybe try the arena mode, where a group of 5 players must play a specific role to get the victory, from the curator, to the tank to the DPS ranged or wizard, in short it's worth trying, you'll have really great ideas.

Players surviving with their skill? I guess it won't be much interesting for the majority of the gamblers because they prefer the luck to play the part. I can't imagine how exactly the skill involved here but make it less relevant will make the game more relevant for the gamblers or it will be a good one for the gaming community not the other one.

I don't really follow gaming trends these days, and I haven't even had time to play the popular games in my community like Mobile Legends. So, I don't have a wide range of PvP game references. Maybe you could try multiplayer chess (4-player chess), which is said to be playable in 2v2 team mode, or free-form mode (everyone is an opponent, or enemy). I think that could also be a good reference for building your own gambling game, and the bets can be won by one person, or a team.

Also, retro game like "Tank 1990" could be a good reference, but maybe managing bets in the game might be a bit more complex. Well, that is all the advice I can offer for now. If I get any other ideas, I will reply again.

As the title, I'm working on a reaction/skill-based PvP game where players try to survive as long as possible, and the last person standing wins everyone else's bets.
This looks fun and new gambling game approach. Maybe something like a card game however you mentioned a 2d platformer, I was thinking something like Worms it's a turn based strategy and they're going kill each other with 1 missile per round. If it's reaction based game, I think something like Slither.io is a good one. If you already have a game and you need someone who wanted to test it, I'm willing to volunteer.

There's actually a lot of 2d skill based games that can be the base of your game, you may want to take a look at console games from before and I think you might be able to find a good one. Anyway, good luck to your project.

I think it's because most so-called "PVP" games on the market play exactly like PVHouse anyway. Take dice or blackjack for example - sure, they can technically work as PVP formats, but actually Playing against other players feels identical to playing against the house. Except now player also have to deal with extra downsides like matchmaking wait times and lower payout caps.
