Any coin that has optional privacy is total crap as privacy coin. It might work for something else, I don't know, their use is not clear.

Update on new privacy coin PIRATE,  the komodo devs have now added delayed PoW notarisation so their new ultra private z only Zcash based asset chain is now being notarised onto the bitcoin blockchain, so basically this PIRATE coin is the most anonymous, most secure privacy crypto I know of. Only issue is trusted setup, but PIRATE is unambiguously better than all other Zcash based coins, and with anon tx by default PIRATE is a good match for monero technically.

Time will tell, but a fork of Zcash without the founder's tax, with only default anonymous Z transactions, a fair launch (no ICO, no Premine, no ninja mine), and secured by bitcoin using komodo notarisation dPoW tech ... I haven't seen a coin like that before.

First halving is 12 months away, so PIRATE is a good one for the miners, and lovers of fungible privacy coins.

PIRATE is a good coin but nobody is selling OTC, and an exchange is still a few days away. Best to point some miners at PIRATE while you can, or rent some nicehash. The difficulty has blown up last 24 hours so miners are voting with their hash, PIRATE is fungible digital cash alternative to monero.

If you didn't know, UNITY was swapped for SUPERNET (an asset chain on Komodo). UNITY hasn't traded in like 7 months. You're also talking about colors when both coins were launched back in 2014... Not that this is thread relevant but at least be informed.

You have nothing to say about the tech and launch of PIRATE, this shows me it has real potential as a fair launched privacy coin with real innovation, by far the best Zcash fork to date, better than Zcash itself.

PIRATE has achieved 2-3% hash rate of Zcash in 48 hours, so it's not thread pollution, it's BIG news for digital cash users who understand anon tx has to be by default!
