[ANN] AEON: Scalable, private, mobile-friendly cryptocurrency

This project should be a stronger performer given there is roughly 18,000,000 AEON in circulation. I am currently mining this, but it would be nice to see action, that way I keep mining it.

We should have additional people (at least one) with access to the github repos (the web site is also a repo, which is why I phrased it that way).

Further, I would also suggest that I should step down as maintainer and hand over administration of the project assets to someone else. I clearly don't have the time to continue usefully in this role. The community should reach consensus on who this should be.

I would have to believe that Stoffu should have keys to github since he's the actual maintainer. Smooth can approve PR's still but he would then have to be somewhat active to approve.

To solve that I would say put PR's approval to at least one person whether it is smooth or someone else.

I deleted the community Twitter account, it looks like someone picked it up. there is an AEON token out there but it’s unrelated to the aeon CryptoNote coin here.

for me what occurs to aeon is a pity, moreno is such a success...aeon would have its place...

Aeon should release more coins to attract miners and developers alike. Current aeon holders are inactive and the coin cannot go on like this. The current ratio of (total supply)/(annual issuance + fee) is over 100. That heavily favors power towards current holders. For a healthy growing network like aeon, it should be closer to 10 or less. Miners and developers will not take interest in this coin if they cannot have a stake in its future.

No, I do not have a key to the official aeonix/aeon repository. I believe only Smooth does.

stoffu, it's time for a fork. You are the only credible person to do that. Stuff like that happen all the time in OSS. Tradeogres shutdown will help with the transition.

When you finally show up, either give your credentials to stoffu or hand over the dev funds of the forked chain to stoffu.

Often when this stuff happens, is because the dev is afraid of a xz situation. So we can give the benefit of the doubt to smooth.

We aren't untitled to free work, but respectfully, your inaction is going too far. It's what? 3 years since the last commit. You need to resolve the situation. I made two proposals in how to go forward. If you are afraid of a xz situation, you can formally declare aeon dead and link to the fork and whatever other forks show up and let users do their due diligence.

Unless someone else has a better idea. (just don't rewrite it in rust) The difficulty here, is that there's no cultural norm in how to resolve the situation, we need to improvise something.

or maybe, the coin / token has run it's course and it's time to give it a proper burial.
Seems that the og's no longer want to babysit or do the maintenance required to keep it running properly.
Instead of sitting in limbo, do the right thing and officially terminate it.
let folks know you are taking your toys and going home and see if A. someone buys it out who thinks they can revive and continue it or B. folks get what they can then let the chain lumber to the crypto coin graveyard to hang out with how many other past ancestors.
