One of my machines came pretty mangled up using DHL. Looks like it was scuffs from the factory as most of the damage looked like rubbing damage which wouldn't happen in shipping.
Just a heads up.
I am debating to send it back or keep it, looks to be hashing 430, while every other batch 5 is at 440+. Meh.
When did you order yours? I asked some else but as of yet have no reply. Where are you based? I just missed B4, so I was one of first in B5. I am in New York now.

Under warranty explains it. Try getting replacement parts from HP outside of the warranty period and without a maintenance contract. They won't be sending you anything without you paying for it first, then they'll reimburse you the credit for the core return value.
We were also talking about Antminer S3 which was under warranty.

Looks like batch 5 just sold out.
Batch 1 sold out in hours. Batch 2 also sold out in hours. Batch 3 sold out in less than a day. Batch 4 sold out in about a day, maybe slightly more Batch 5 finally sold out tonight, after being open for what, a couple of weeks? Point being is the market saturated? +1... Batch 6 will be the last ...IMHO... After that selling from stock...48 hours mode ...I hope... Lower price is expected to follow... ZiG How close do you think it is until Bitmain packages 2 Antminer S3's into one box with a PSU and screen like the S2? I bet that is likely what will be happening shortly for the S4.

I had one of my S1s go belly up this morning. Won't power up. Anyone have any experience with a dead system under warranty with Bitmain? I submitted a ticket in their new support system, so hope it goes well.

Has anyone found solution to the goofy RPM readings?
Out of 8 units I have two units reading off the charts... Fans are running normal speed, firmware shows them as launching rockets.
Batch 4 - July 21 Firmware 2640 2400 2640 2340 2880 2580 2820 2400
Batch 5 - July 28 Firmware 2580 2400 5940 7680 <- ? 2880 2820 7620 2580 <- ?

LOL @ "launching rockets" I haven't noticed anything on my B1's (July 21 Firmware), but I don't know if I would have noticed. I'll keep an eye on them and my B5's after they arrive tomorrow, and let you know if I see anything.

Yah I contacted BitMainTech regarding the Fan RPM issue and the tech engineer reported it as normal. They said its caused due to capacitor disturbance. I felt the Fan speeds are higher that the others but not as high as shown.

Thanks for your response. Didn't want to try OC until I knew fans weren't an issue.

I like to tell another thing, my 2 PCI-E Power cables to S3 were a little hot. My S3 hashrate was not stable at the rated 441Ghs but was averaging at 420. I ordered thermal paste. Before thermal plates were arriving, I tried to plug two additional PCI-E power cables to S3. The Antminer S3 is running at stock clocks 218.75 and PCI-E power cables are cool now. The main reason for this post is to report that the miners stabilised at 441. Earlier it was 420. Two thing I'm pointing out, 1. The miners plugged in continuously for 4 or 5 days and seems like it was running-in and stabilised at-last at 441. 2. Plugging the all four connectors even if you are not overclocking will some way help you.

Best Regards
BITMAINNo I don't know what exactly they mean by "soon" but with as many S1's I have, I hope sooner than later otherwise there all going to eBay.

Similar experience here. S3 clocked down to 212 as it would not stabilise at stock. Finally decided last night to have a fiddle as I had a bit of time on my hands. After removing the cover I did the following - Straightened out the heatsink fins as some were bent close to where the screws were. Tightened up one screw which was loose on one heatsink. Pushed the cables to make sure they were seated properly, they all looked ok, no "give" when pushing. Put the cover back on and instead of putting the cables into the sockets closest to the ethernet port I decided to try the other two. Hooked it back up, checked the results after a couple of hours and it was hashing at 420. Decided to put the clock back to stock and it's been hashing at 440 for the last 24 hours! Really strange as the only thing I felt I really did was swap the cables. Maybe it just needed a bit of TLC and me stroking its internals made it happy!

Please forgive my laziness since this was likely mentioned earlier in the thread but is there a guide somewhere to silence or quite the beeping of the S3? While handy for a giant farm operator this feature is quite annoying for the home hobby miner. It seems as though the options under the web UI can't do anything about the beeping.

On another note I love to see the difficulty diving until my units arrive. I got my PSU's (CX850) yesterday and all plumbed in and ready to hash.
Has anyone tried the wireless on them without pigtails? just wondering what the real range is. Otherwise I will run a chunk of copper to them. I should likely just do that anyway.
Happy Hashing people...
