I noticed this a couple of hours after your post and put some temporary MH on to find a new block.

The network does need more diversity because the difficulty retargeting will cause some crazy swings if there's a big gap between blocks, especially if there's some decent hash power once the network moves again. I'd say at least one person is also selectively mining, because twice another node has started pushing out blocks only seconds after I've generated one, even though the network was stalled for hours or days prior to my block.
