News updates:
2. In addition, I'm going to give advance warning that I will be taking down the testnet pool in one month's time when the paid subscription for that VPS expires. I can't justify running the pool for free when people happily mine on it and don't donate anything (no I'm not interested in testnet coin donations). So unless someone has a burning need for this service and is happy to donate a few decibitcoins to keep it running, I will shut it down.

For the sake of discussion, would a 1GH or 2GH miner even be able to find a block on ckpool against all the few hundred GH and TH there?

It is not 'against' - there is no competition. Everyone is simply rolling their own 40,640,955,017 sided dice. Each time anyone rolls a 40,640,955,017 they win a prize ... and more Gigahashes simply means you get to throw the dice faster (more throws per second)... |

a) receive the data for computing the hash summ?
or
b) send the hash summ to the server and server accept it?
