you're forgetting the possibility of people being involved in options, futures, bets and the like. So maybe it can make sense to try to keep the market down by executing seemingly unprofitable trades. Not saying this is the case, but it's possible.

you're forgetting the possibility of people being involved in options, futures, bets and the like. So maybe it can make sense to try to keep the market down by executing seemingly unprofitable trades. Not saying this is the case, but it's possible.

Well, that seems doubly worse to me.  First, they betted against the trend of BTC rising in value and THEN lost tons of money trying to bet against it a second time.
