There will be no delay due to other ICO's ending close to Lisk's launch date. We will not play the markets, and never will.
Lisk, as with every other crypto-currency in existence, is another step towards the right direction. Most of the people involved in the decentralized movement have yet to see the importance of testing different kinds of algorithms. Lisk is the FIRST platform that will provide a viable solution to scalability with it's current sidechains platform. We are hopeful that our path of decentralized applications running on sidechains will bring further innovations within the crypto ecosystem. Success is a marathon; as seen with Bitcoin, it takes time. There is no certainty of success with any of the current crypto experiments, but we have the resources, the motivation and most importantly, the grit to make it succeed.
Look at the bigger picture, decentralized networks is a big change from the centralized world we currently live in. This is what the decentralized movement is striving for; the people should have a choice.

Oh no!  clicked on it, medium blog post says: "Therefore, coming back to the release date. In order to have a successful launch Lisk needs to “simply work”. We decided for quite a generous release date. Which gives us more than enough time to properly test the new release, finish the pre-launch development plan, and work on the GitHub issues. Hello bitcoinbox, I hereby confirm the 24th May. As it is written in the OP and the latest blog post. Oliver is currently developing day and night with the help of two community members (Rabid and Fixcrypt) to make Lisk ready for launch. He is fixing some stuff which came up with the last test of snapshotting edge cases. The problem was, that if you take a snapshot while you are in a fork and now distribute it, and the majority of the network takes your snapshot, the network itself becomes a fork mess. He is also working towards releasing Lisk v0.2.2 this week and reset the testnet. I am currently working closely together with transformPR and other individuals to hype Lisk up again for launch. I prepared a very tight schedule for new blog posts, which will from now on appear quite often. Additionally, we will push out a lot of press releases to get more articles on outlets. I also plan to buy some advertisements on various crypto pages. Practically, Lisk should be everywhere. Joel is working on the bounties as usual and is the voice of the community. He is speaking with a lot of Lisk users on our Lisk chat, answering our support requests, and helping us with other internal stuff. Additionally, he is working some interesting topics for launch/soon after launch. A LOT is happening in the background, and I'd love to see more Lisk signatures again and you guys talking everywhere about Lisk. (Without spamming ) It would also be great if you contact every exchange to list LISK at launch or soon after. |
