Bird fountain?! Why u dont invest at gold or something oil futures (New York Light, rental property, forest etc) Corrosion is one problem with 20 years on your yard Gold has always had a stable value and I don't think one could earn a lot of profit from it, on the other hand Bitcoin has a volatile value and it's possible that it could yield a higher % profit in the future. It's a gamble but stocks or oil futures are a gamble as well, nothing is set in stone and everything could change at any time. However keeping gold safe at your home would require a lot more efforts than simply putting a paper wallet or a hardware wallet in a box and forgetting about it for a while.

That is not a smart thing to do because now you are no where, this is what I mean with gambling messing up your life. People need to understand that gambling can really mess things up in your life.

Gold does not ever break if you leave it outside. Long after your usb is gone gold is still there. Keeping gold safe is very easy, like a hardware wallet you can put it in a box and forget about it for a while.

This is very brave and very stupid in the same time. But for me you are hero in any case, you saw opportunity and you decided to try your chances. I think big possibility is that you will be successful in this, just be careful when to stop and cash out. Don't be greedy. Good luck and update us with your progress.

its a bad thing to make decisions like this, i mean invest as if you are gambling. you should always be sure (at least 90% sure) before investing in the first place not just jump in without knowledge.

That's one reason lay people prefer to invest in gold as gold prices are stable strong and not easily broken but for the people who already know they will choose bitcoin because can get profit more quickly.

But it will be always risky. And gambling it's good too(well.. at least for me)

Didn't I read on another thread that USB stick don't hold data forever? The post said something about they can't be used for long term storage because if they aren't plugged in to a computer for several years, they don't have power to save the data. I don't know if that is true or not, someone please confirm. I suggest burying a paper copy of your public and private keys with it (you may have done this too).

That is not he smartest thing to do because know you have no money left and have to start from the bottom again. This is why you should know when it is enough and when to stop with gambling. You should just walk away from it.

well i have good news or bad news, this week i took out all my saving from my bank 3500 and bought some bitcoin i now have a total of 6 bitcoins, last night i bought 5 usb sticks and 2 waterproof boxes, i put the box inside of the other box then the 5 usb sticks in the middle of the box, afterwards i went into my backyard and dug a hole underneath the bird fountain, i dug the hole almost 3 feet under. Then i buried it back and placed the bird fountain back. The bird fountain has been in the same spot for many years so i am not worried about forgetting where i buried it, and grass doesn't grow underneath it. so there we have it, I buried a total of 5 bitcoins, i plan to keep it there for 20 years. The 5 bitcoins cost me about 2300USD The 6th bitcoin i keep it on my cellphone and i plan to spend it online, Now i only have 100 dollars left in my bank, i am basically broke, my whole saving gone! Was this a bad idea? after i buried it i was starting to feel like it was a bad idea, i also did not put a hard password on it because i thought i would forget but i wasn't planning on using my saving for anything, and the bank doesn't give me any interest for it, i've never invested in anything , possibly because i don't have much money anyways.. it's just money.. i'll save some more i figure in the future, it might be way too expensive to own even 1 bitcoin, i am now a proud owner of 5 bitcoins this is my bitcoin story, here are some pictures of the box and bird fountain, its not the exact ones that i own but similar you should hope that nobody near you reads your post or else your bitcoins might be in danger, and i think that you did a risky move by spending your all money on bitcoins but i am pretty sure that you will be rich after 20 years when you will sell these bitcoins then, as for example halving this year will rise price for sure so after some price rises you will be rich

Sounds like a troll post. But just to make sure, I will be sure to see if the pictures have GPS and then dig up the ground under the bird bath, maybe if hes used a weak password as stated then brute force it, and presto! My spend if I can get the GPS co ordinates? A flight to the US and the travel to his location and some accommodation, id still be in the black! But not by much. Better ROI than the KNC Neptune.
On a serious note, I smell BS.

Yeah as quoted it doesn't looks to be the right decision to spend all hard earned money into bitcoin. The reason is that none is sure about the future price or about the digital currency survival. Its better to invest in a diverse manner.

I am agree with you that wasting all of your goods on unstable thing is not right but if he will get what he want or just wait for halving he will get profit from bitcoin.

If OP get rich with BTC one day, he may write a book on how he hid his riches.
But OP is pretty creative! But did you put your stuff into an air tight zip lock bag?

You are maybe now broke but you just have to keep your bitcoins and stay believing in it, the halving is close and you will make a lot of profit after this, just hang on and wait on it you will gain a lot of money again.
