Is there any source out there for a tutorial on how to set up a Jupiter? I'm too nervous to just fuck around with it. It is sitting in my living room staring at me.
under firmware update on the main www.kncminer.com page there is a pdf file for the user that's all I have

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Freeware! Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 3/3/25. It also works with Windows 11 and Linux. Allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 11 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Other than those that chose hosting, have any 1-500 orders not arrived in customers sweaty hands?
I think it sort of sux that the hosted miners haven't started hashing.
Maybe the folks at KnC 'listened' to the folks that were whining about Sam working on the Data Center instead of hardware.
The 1-500 thing muddies the waters because pre-registered is a hidden number and some 4 figure order numbers I think are shipping because of it. If you are a 1-500 you probably know. If not, it will show up on the Order History page, as the device(s) will be labeled as such. "Jupiter 1-500" for example. There is no muddy water, here. 1-500 orders made a pledge to KnC to purchase their product. Without the pledge, Mr Kennemar and Mr Cole (the K and C in KnC) couldn't receive ORSOC's blessing to move ahead. I will reiterate; are there any 1-500 orders of non-hosted equipment that are not hashing in the wild? Are you asking if there's any 1-500 still awaiting delivery? I hope not - I received my non 1-500 Jupiter yesterday (Order # 815 - purchased 6/4 - payment cleared 6/6).

Yes. Mine. All orders paid 06/04 instantly via Verified PayPal out of my checking account - orders in the 300 and 700 range from the first day of pre-orders - all four orders before the 899 cutoff. Two of the orders have been sitting in "IN PROGRESS" status since October 1st. Two of them are still just sitting there as "PAID"...

I found this after work : Dammit, I hate UPS !!! I never received a call and never called them. It's too late now to call, I hope that it isn't an other person that is trying to get my miners ! Wow... I'd be there as soon as the doors open tomorroww... With a TaserGlock 17!!! FTFY. We are talking about UPS here. No central nervous system to affect.

Order # 35x - Payment Date: 6/4/13 - status PAID Order # 35x - Payment Date 6/4/13 - status PAID
Order # 76x - Payment Date 6/4/13 - shipped. Received 10/7/13 in the USA Order # 76x - Payment Date 6/4/13 - IN PROGRESS since 01 October Order # 75x - Payment Date 6/4/13 - IN PROGRESS since 01 October
And you all know what every single day's delay costs me on each of those other 5 Jupiters..
^--- The Guy that has all the money.! I'd have bought more, but the PayPal anti-fraud unit called me and wanted to know more about all that money I was sending overseas, what I was buying exactly, and told me to "cool it" or they would have to lock my account pending "further investigation"... That's when you tell them to suck a cock, otherwise they won't earn any fees from their customer KnC and you'll use a check card instead of using them. Minus the cock sucking...mentioning things like that generally work. Your hand feeds them. Not the other way around.

Just received my third Jupiter (Australia). to give some indication on order #/payment date Order #: 10XX - Payment Date: 6/5/13 - Ship Date: Oct 3rd - Received Date: Oct 8th Order #: 10XX - Payment Date: 6/5/13 - Ship Date: Oct 3rd - Received Date: Oct 8th Order #: 14XX - Payment Date: 6/10/13 - Ship Date: Oct 4th - Received Date: Oct 9th I was in 1-500 group for a very low order # in that initial range prior to actual orders. Edit: Also in regards to condition after about 8 different stops on their journey, total 'damage' 1 fan fallen off So, since you were in the 1-500 group, then KnC adjusted for refunds and non-payments which put your orders in the greater than 1000 range, one might assume they added 1000 to the order numbers, and now no order number is less than 1000? If they did ship 1400 orders in 7 days, they match BFL's predicted output rate of 200(units)/day.

Ok, thanks. No idea what the hold up is on getting these out. The silence from them is deafening.
I think it's simple. They didn't have a realistic idea of production times, never done it before. The "hashing within hours" for hosted rigs always sounded silly to me for example..if all went well they'd have to set up hundreds of machines from scratch, simple stuff like unpacking, checking for loose stuff, physically moving them to their correct rack and that kind of stuff takes time. Same goes for hosting, maybe they estimated the time that would take wrongly..should have started earlier? Add a few bad chips or other problems that need sorting individually...to find the good and bad...and it all gangs up on you to put you behind. It's the old piss poor planning idiom at the end of the day. There's more to selling products than getting one rig working quickly and flooding the web with yourself backslapping and celebrating. The guy going to pick up his rig and not being allowed to go and get it at the facility spoke volumes to me, if that were my place and I was proud of the performance and set up I'd be inviting such a customer to come and get his rig and report back on how well it was going. My guess is that he'd have found several headless chickens if he went so they packed him off home pissed off and rigless...to save face. The delays are part of production and understandable, the lies and silence..they are not. I wish they'd sent one of the cgminer devs a rig, even a Mercury would have done, instead of that couple in the documentary. We'd maybe be in a happier place now.

was told the same about a health product made in china, that is has been delayed due to chinese festivities....

Yeah, they are making an honest effort, it's probably hard for them to admit basic things went/ are going wrong. Shit timing for us who have exact dates in our heads which we really shouldn't expect from a small company doing this on the fly for the 1st time. Could be a lot worse , we all know that

Exactly.... Engineers, not front line shipping managers. Killing things compared to bfl and Avalon so far. No reasons to really complain (yet)

The thing I really can't understand is why, with millions in hand in the bank, they didn't just hire a guy that was a logistics specialist? Short term contract, a few grand. That way they get to concentrate on the things they are expert on. Same for hosting. Save such a lot of hassle and learn for the future.
