Yes there are freshly generated coins entering the wallet the refunds came from. That's not a covert mining farm minting coins to refund. That's your hosted devices up, and running. Hosting is live. The issue is configuring the API to your accounts and that is being sorted now.

I still did not quite understand the current "setup" - I assume it's something like this:

All customer miners in the hosting facility were configured to the new KnC (or some other?) pool with the above
wallet address. KnC did a semi-manual payout for all customers of 2,5BTC per Saturn and 5BTC per Jupiter.
This static setup will continue to mine until the web-frontend for the customers is ready.
At that point the owners can re-configure their miners with whatever (single   ) pool they want.
When the dust did settle there will be an update for the web frontend that will allow the configuration of a backup
mining pool as well or KnC will perform a manual setup of the backup mining pool  

A short confirmation would make me (and hopefully many others as well) happy  

I have two day 1 jupiters that are hosted and have not received any BTC..  did everyone get a payout?

I got my BTC today regarding 5 days of compensation...however I still dont have the login details for the pool..do you?

just upgraded to .094 and hash rate is a little slower but HW errors are at 10% . I purposely stayed on 0.91 before this as the results from the other 2 firmware patches didn't look too good. around 5% HW errors on 0.91

Agreed, the Jupiters I have on 0.91 are the fastest without any doubt. I have none on 0.90, most on 0.91, none on 0.92, two on 0.93 and one on 0.94.

So far 0.91 is the real deal IMO.

I wonder what firmware the guy whose boards caught fire was running.

FYI: I'm officially downgrading my two units running on 0.94. The temps on the webui are nice, but after 12 hours of testing I can say clearly that 0.94 heavily decreased the hashrate of my miners. It took a beast that run at 540GH/s average for almost a week on 0.91 to a pitiful 490/500GH/s. THe other miner ran stable at around 520GH/s, now below 500GH/s.

Its a pity I only have remote access now, so I can only downgrade to 0.93 - 0.91 is the best with no doubt... And I proved all versions for long on multiple machines.

Was it always the same or equivalent cap - by my earlier glance it looked to be always at the same end of a series on the board?

There was mention somewhere of 'cricket' noises coming not from the fan but from the ASIC - my suggestion would be that it might have been coming from a capacitor?

A very cautious finger could be used to check cap temps generally - capacitors should generally not run very hot I think ? - and so one that is hotter than the rest might forewarn a problem.  Also, if it's possible that firmware plays a part in this (and firmware was having something to do with noise) then upgrading firmware might only be done after the capacitor is damaged.

That's interesting.  Only 4 of the 8 are actually working anyway (as seen with bertmod).  They probably realised this and decided not to pointlessly install 8.  As such, it shouldn't make any difference.

This post suggests the KNC version is not doing a proper work restart. Any reason KNC are spending 9 days releasing firmware updates that doesn't even fix these issues? I'm fairly sure the guys who wrote cgminer could sort this quick fast.

2. How come boards are bbq'ing?
I know you wrote a post a few days ago trying to blame people for unplugging cables while the miner was still powered up, but that was scapegoating. There is plenty speculation on the hardware issues causing, but a total no-answer on this from you/KNC. Customers are worried about burning to death in their sleep.

3. Are KNC still shipping in those unsuitable single walled boxes?

4. How come on the controller board there are 6 terminals, but shipped miners are only being shipped with 4 in place?

I think the case is pointless anyway.   They should of flat shipped it and just let us put on the heatsinks.   The way they slap on the fans (and how they fall off) I wonder how great they paste and mounted the heatsinks.   I have very different temps on mine.

That could mean a lot of things of course, but it would be one less thing to wonder about if we assembled most of this ourselves (and would of gotten mine a week earlier no doubt)
