Sounds like I'm installing 0.91

If it has happened on 3 different firmware versions, the most likely conclusion is that it has nothing to do with the firmware, and is simply a hardware issue, either bad design or bad build.

again is there a more extreme cooling options ie off the slelf better then the arctic i30 cooler KNC provides.....just saying if I had a really weak unit out of say 3 boards..might be worth doing (rather then send it back rma) but then again maybe nothing much exists off the shelf for this?

(me my plan is my Minnesota basement this winter..heh)

I'm not giving up and I'm still happy. It was delivered on time and is still quicker than what I paid for, just to trying to figure out what's happening.

0.90 @ 500GH
didn't notice hardware errors on this one, wasn't running long before 0.91 came out

0.91 - 0.93 were all similar, I noticed an increase in hashrate to around 530, hw errors were around 10%

0.94 saw a dramatic drop in hashrate to 500, after 12+ hours it had settled back to 525 but the errors went up to 14% and reported speeds at the pool were significantly lower.

I've then tried going back to 0.91 and 0.93 but the error rate remains high.

Ok so finally my order is shipped 8xx day 2 payment, and it will take only 11 days to arrive ..i am so royally, majorly and monumentally screwed .....

yeah you and me both I'm a 304x and 520x orders....so I guess it is time to put on my "denial" tin foil hat ..and convince myself it is a "hobby" (hey sports cars are hobbies right....cooler hobbies but the equip sits outside and rusts...with this asic stuff I can look at it everyday as doorstops ..at least the BFL stuff....actually re-read that better to hide in the attic.


so find the next "hot" sha256 coin and point your stuff at it now and hope for "pump and dump" when everyone else does the same rather then turn their asic miners off...(I assume they at that point will also play the "denial" game with tin foil hat accessory)

heck there is no way I'm gonna get my 65gh from BFL according to their timeline till at least the first week of novemeber .....ALT SHA256 coins here I come...or alternate is door stops..

on a secondary note i doubt we will be able mine alts on our kkncs...with all the bbqing going on i would be happy if i can just mine BTC.....

by the by you get stuck with one of these via "force upgrade" ie no real choice

I run the numbers on upgrading my last 65gh to a monarch or just keeping them according to most diff calculators even the more 'modest' diff % increase ones...I'm looking at an 70% at least loss no matter which way I jump..so again they will be nice little life lessons for me as doorstops....and/or the alt sha256 coins to play with for fun and to continue my 'denial' just hope this is not gonna be an issue on my 304x Jupiter  knc miner and 520x Saturn (that will teach me...for being an 'optimist" ...shudder......

with all the "outdated' and soon to be asic miners....I can't see them going in a closet ...I can see other foo...er I mean enlightened types like myself just using them with alt256 coins .at least until "reality" sets in.....gonna be a lot of us in 9 months with nothing worth mining in bitcoin realm..perhaps we should invent a new coin call it "Titanic Coin" ....yeah it looks pretty and is ahead of its time but it too will sink.
