I went and ordered a Jupiter as well.  Somehow I got a 10% discount (not sure how).  I ended up paying 13.427 BTC including express shipping to US.

Here's hoping I actually receive it in November.

if i had to guess, they are probably producing units right now, getting ready for mass shipment in a couple of weeks.  I think people are in for a rude awakening after this small difficulty shift.  People that order using BTC now will probably stand to gain 2 or 3 BTC from the venture.

Bitcoin has been going up so fast it seems better to give it some more time to peak before buying, and even then actually it might not feel so great to buy a Jupiter with $350 bitcoins then watch as bitcoin climbs way up over $500 overnight... Then when after a quick little dip for profit-taking it continues toward its over $1000 goal things will look worse and worse as more and more suckers cash out to buy rigs to drive difficulty way beyond any hope of ROI instead of sitting back swimming like Scrooge McDuck in their pool of bitcoins...

Bear in mind that for bitcoins to be able to be used on any kind of reasonable scale, even a quite small reasonable scale, they need to be at least several thousand dollars each. It is the fact only a tiny tiny tiny clique of leading edge folks have dabbled with them so far that has kept them so low so long... that, and people throwing them all away for dollars to buy rigs that will never ROI...

People are betting on the ever increasing price of Bitcoin, which to be honest I started to believe in too lately.
Well not forever increasing, but I can definitely see the potential for a price of over $1000.

2 years ago I deposited £2000 into Intersango and was a mouse click away from buying 1000 bitcoins, but decided against it, because back then I genuinely thought that was the big crash. You have no idea how many times I've imagined what would it be if only I were braver.

In life it is rarely that you regret an action, it is the inactions that we regret mostly, so next time you are presented with a choice I say go for it even if there is some chance you might regret it later. Because if you chicken out and decide not to do it I bet you will regret it much more later Wink

I requested a bitpay refund for 3 November Jupiter's.  I should be receiving a refund of $15,395  ($410 of that was for shipping)

The refund pending option shows $13,896 is what i will get back when logging into my account.  Whut?

It happened to me as well with my refund, their site adds 10% discount everytime they change an order.

They're aware of the issue and should refund you the correct amount, I got mine for the correct amount.

spiccioli
Wow, I'm literally minutes away from ordering(paying for) my second Nov Jupiter...and you guys are bailing....   interesting...

well..i got my unit oct 18th and it is now 3 wks later and i'm 5200 bucks ahead or should I say towards my 7131.80 cost with shipping of my Jupiter ...but on the other hand I'm mining .43btc it seem ave on slush...so......that is gonna drift down as we speak..

again unsure if getting another Jupiter is gonna fly or not....say next diff is 30 percent then after knc run starts 45 percent then back to 30 percent (ie bfl has to eventually get their stuff out worthless to mine thou it may be people will mine it anyway)...so you get your Jupiter by the end of nov that is what 3 difficulty jumps?....now if your bet is BTC is gonna go UP then makes sense I guess

so anyway by my calcs (and the fact btc is in for an adjustment imho downward if even if optimistic hopefully briefly) anyway I can't see you doing much more then breaking even

of course there are worse ways to gamble investment wise ..but then again I have and 8k boat anchor of BFL screwedness going on and forced with the no refund option to 900 gh of monarch cards in jan hopefully( fat chance) so I hope you are correct...if I was not so screwed by bfl i'd maybe take a chance too..and then again with genetic engineering maybe there will be a day in the soon to be future of 'pigs flying' so what do I know

always best to tell people when you are throwing money at stuff it is a 'hobby" people rarely will yell at you that you are an idiot if you spend 8k on a bass fishing boat (they may think you are odd) but much mirth and merriment breaks out when you tell them you spent 8k on bfl equip ......so always lie and say it is a 'hobby' ..am thinking of playing this whole eccentric thing out a bit..get a walking stick ....Sherlock Holmes hat.....cultivate a lisp....go for full on eccentric.....(hey its cover)

anyway I know zip just my 2c worth

Supposedly just holding bitcoins has pretty much always been the most profitable thing to do, so this time I am seriously considering doing just that.

The number of bitcoins I paid for my Saturn, that arrived so late that it has barely started to make a dent in the problem of paying for itself, would be a lot of money right now. It'd buy me two november jupiters with money left over...

Meanwhile the Saturn I spend those coins on hasn't even paid for itself, it is no way anywhere near about to buy me two or even one november jupiter...

So I would be much better off right now if I had resisted the urge to buy that Saturn... and maybe would have had two jupiters by end of november instead... heck maybe three...

I as a BFL refugee out 8K salute you......should it not work we can start an ASIC miner foreign legion of lost souls and then make t-shirts

In all seriousness I hope it works out...I have 900gh of vaporware monarch cards I was forced to punt to with bfl's no refund policy..I'd certainly like to be wrong..If you are
correct then if and I mean if bfl manages to get that stuff out in Jan I may get SOME $$$ of this 8k loss back

so again good luck but me i'm tapped out ...all this asic mining on pre-order is a little to close to the edge for me...I got my unit oct 18th and even if I don't cash out the BTC for ROI...It does at least look "in my mind" that I will get ROI but add a 3 week delay to the above by KNC ....ie they found out about the blown caps 1st then delayed even longer say..well...like I said the prices are too high for as close as they run these units out the door price wise and delivery time wise..so KNC may be a lucky exception in this but it was more luck then planning on my part ..so i'm an official fence sitter for now

anyway hope it works ..would mean some salvage possible on the bfl monarchs maybe if btc goes up and or there are delays and knc only game in town for a bit

I hadn't planned on ordering any November Jupiters, but then the price of BTC went nuts and doubled in a month which actually makes a return in BTC look possible.

Assuming Knc can actually deliver these in November before the difficulty gets to 1 billion, I think a November Jupiter has a fairly decent shot of earning 14 BTC in its useful lifetime.

Of course, this could all turn out to be a fool's errand, so I'm hedging my bets...
