Anyone from the UK know the cheapest place for a Coolermaster V850. I presume Amazon, but thought I would ask before purchasing my PSUs.

Also, does anyone know if these new modules will be shipping before November's batch, or at the same time?

Cheers.

I got mine from dabs they seemed to be cheapest at the time.

I'd say yes on the delivery front for the upgrade units.  I can'tsee areason forthem tohold back on despatch.  Just remember you can't use them in the November units, you can't use them without an existing Batch 1 KNC miner.

£22.99 with free delivery (UK)

Regarding PSU and the popped caps on some of the earlier Saturns / Jupiters... I remember there being speculation about potential issues with Corsair PSUs, was this ever clarified (ie. it was the owners fault, it was the PSUs fault, production problem...) or is this still an unresolved mystery and there are some PSUs that I should stay away from?

There was approx 10 instances in total. I think around 8 I saw, believe it or not, a few of those continued to run fine when I tested them ~143 GH/s. That said a few were DOA.

In any case due to the time in possession of these chips being approx equal to the time the majority of boards in the wild with you guys we can only confidently recommend the Coolermaster V850 as behaving faultlessly. The standard months into years of post fab refinement to test every manufacturers PSU is not possible, unless you guys are willing to wait, as such I can only strictly state the Coolermaster, and in honesty it is super quiet. I realise should someone require something beefier, than again the official stance would be these boards are modular use 2 x V850s. Wink

Also the 'official' stance is that the upgrade modules are not appropriate for Jupiters, but Saturns, and Mercuries.

Thanks for the info. I'm aware that those were freak incidents, but better safe than sorry Smiley

I got 2 from Micom.co.uk for £237 delivered, but they appear to be gone now.
The next best thing will be box.co.uk.

Promo for the sale  Grin

"You returned them, we're selling them back to you at a profit!"

and - #21073
extra modules are a shit deal if your early pre-order september delivery arrived at the end of october and has no 'extra' connectors attached..

and besides - despite more than one miner doing exactly that, the f/w isnt designed to accept 6 modules....apparently... IF youre lucky enough to have them.

i wonder if the 4 un-needed VRMs will become necessary again.

now i also wonder if there is any correlation between 6 module boards and 8 vrm modules....

im tempted to buy a couple just in case i ever need an RMA and dont want/deserve to be left 'getting by'

They respond to all emails, and are answering calls fine. Phone's free now, when engaged it does just ring though, there's no 'busy' tone. I found that out myself, but not replying to emails, or phone calls is simply not true.

Call now...

Ignore the holes near the centre, they will probably be blank and aren't needed to affix the heatsink down.

Cheers for the help O'rama. Do you have any estimates on ship dates for November's batch? Will it be the end of this week, or beginning of next?

Thanks.

Come on its not that hard to grasp mate. You must have some comprehension skills in there somewhere.  Smiley

The only reason you would not have enough connectors would be if you had a Jupiter which is an unsupported model for upgrade modules.

As the vrms are on each board anyway what are you even talking about vrms for? You won't need any more because the upgrade boards come with them already.
There is no correlation just your own conspiracy theory.

It's already been said that they are keeping spares aside for repairs and rmas.

You guys should start with 600m diff and then add an additional 2PH to that for the end of November.  From there take a guess at how much HashFast, Bitmine, BitFury, and CoinTerra are launching.

People are way too excited to spend $1000+ (including extra parts to buy) just for ~140GH.

Companies will continue to rip people off if you keep falling for it.  Amazing how people want to give away their BTC.  If you have $1000 to blow, buy more BTC on the next price correction.

^^^Exactly, people are paying with their mined KNC btc to buy more power at a higher hashrate, I'm still shaking my head at this.

Since when is playing the BTC market (or any market, for that matter) some guarantee of this amazing profit you folks keep bragging about?  For every winner who buys low and sells high, there's some poor sucker who bought high and sold low.  And this whole 'buy and hold' thing... who actually does that?  Really?!  Every Schmo thinks they're are smarter than the next guy and they know exactly when to buy & sell and to hold.  And in reality, they are usually WRONG 50% of the time.

This argument is so very OLD & TIRED.  Why no take your unsolicited advice and 'sure-fire' investment theories and go right over to the Speculation subforum?  Seriously, no one here wants to hear it anymore.  This is the 'Custom hardware' forum and no one cares what you think.

I think you are right to a point but experience is key.  A new trader may lose 80% and win 20% , where as the most experienced guys might be the opposite.

It won't be this week, they are still tweaking.

Production is set for mid, IMO it maybe be on the latter side of mid, playing devil's advocate as I don't want to be held responsible for promising anything, that said I've seen what they can do, and no I'm not telling.

It's live btw.

I can unequivocally call this a lie. It's the second time you've stated it and it's a lie. I have had 2 emails to knc customer service ignored. I totally believe Hiroaki if he/she says emails have been ignored. There are plenty of posts on the knc forum where people have said their emails have been ignored. Anyway, keep up the lying, I guess it's what you are paid for.

And nice to see that the minute knc announce a fire-sale, you are on here 24/7 to shill it up.

Question - are they boards they are selling GUARANTEED to hash at over 140GH? Or am I right in my assumption that any RMA'd board that hashes over 100GH is fair game for this sale?

I await you ignoring my questions as usual.
