Why is this batch 2 again? I thought they already sold batch 2 for like $13K??? and now this is back to $10K? No, that was the second lot of batch 1... More interestingly is that "Refund in US$ up to shipment" disappeared from the product description.... would that apply to everyone who ordered a Neptune...the "refund to us$ up to shipment" or just apply to the current batch? (this may determine how brave I am on further Jupiter 'miner protection units" should they come out soonest... if I do that I'd likely not be brave enough for my 2nd Neptune..now if I'm stuck with my 2nd Neptune..i'm not brave enough to spring for the "miner protection Jupiter units" should they appear in jan 2014 (clear as mud right?) anyway you get my drift (I have a small window of sanity in all this trying not to rock the ..metaphysical so to speak....whatever sanity I have left in this BTC guessing game)

I dropped a good 4-5 Gh/s with 99.1-tune, from the last .99-tuning FW. October Saturn. just fyi. Not sure if bert mod works with this one?. I haven't gotten any warning for cores off/on via Putty. So I'm going back for now. I've had 0.99.1 running on my November Jupiter for 8 hours now. My avg hash rate in cgminer has gone down from 679 to 674. I believe this is because they changed the hash rate calculation in the knc driver to now exclude hardware errors. https://github.com/KnCMiner/cgminer/commit/2d448072df379d962c28d7935999d527b4760475The main difference for me with this fw, is that all the values seem to converge to their long term average much faster. In previous versions it would take quite a while (days) to even out the many hardware errors in the beginning. My HW has gone down from 1.21% to 1.01% and WU is up from 9404 to 9424, but it's not enough of a change to be noticeable in the poolside charts.

Hi BitcoinOrama,
I just send you 0.009999 BTC for a cup of coffee while waiting for the next plane. Merry Chrismas and Happy new Year!
BTW, this unofficial firmware does not solve Die #0 problem and I do hope KnC fix that problems first and then tuning up in 2014.
Haha awesome, thanks man!

I did say Nov boxes pointed at Eligius would probably be the happiest. This is not a major update, that still has work to be done, but this was enough to address some issues w.r.t. hardware errors there prior to Christmas and V had a bee in his bonnet to tackle it this side of the hol. If you see better performance on a previous fw, then go for what you know...

Hmm, it seems their second batch Neptune are on sale for 9,995. I thought that price was strictly for previous customers! So first 9.5K then 12.5K and then back to 9.5K.

I have a feeling this is going to be like with Nov jupiters, no clear advantage to being earlier in the waiting list. @Searing, so you plan on selling your Jupiter for the price of a pre-order Neptune? It's a gamble but *shrug* who knows what will be.

It's a gamble but *shrug* who knows what will be. not sure not greedy.......I "supposedly" could get more then 15k from the nuts on ebay....but then again they could do a reversal....proably just get BTC from someone on here then again I've no clue what to ask...get my ROI of 7131.80 would be nice.....(probably dreaming) advice welcome and hopefully I'm not off topic ..the discussion is along the lines of "what the heck is a fair price btc to folks on here (kncminer forum..not ebay) of a oct Jupiter 555.7gh unit (on slush)....more or less...uniformed (me) minds would like to know/guess....kinda sorta know? The knc developers and myself differ in how we like to represent hashrate. I prefer to not include hardware errors since they're not really meaningful hashes. Remember you don't get paid for hardware errors and you'll have to deduct them to figure out if your device's hashrate is higher or lower (or simply compare WU instead).

So you don't have good persuading skills Maybe we can convince him somehow to not include hardware errors with the help of 'Orama!

Somewhere I saw a reference for all the codes on the CGMiner screen. Would you be kind enough to point us to a reference?

Well by the morning the warm glow of reduced HW rates with the new firmware on my Nov Jup has worn off. (avg) 667.1 (down 4GH/s) HW 1.75% (about the same as before). The averages seem more stable and don't vary so much but overall no change for me really. If I restart the miner the HW rate is very low for the first 15 minutes or so but then slowly starts creeping up until after a couple of hours it's back to what it was before on 0.99-E. Reading between the lines, I guess it's performing the same but just reporting it differently. I'm going to leave this running over Christmas now on Eligius and see how it goes long-term.
Have a great Christmas everyone!
