I remember back in 2013 I mined Feathercoin.
At one time it was more profitable to mine than Litecoin.
Now I came across this topic, I remembered, eh, nostalgia.
So much time has passed, and the coin is still alive.

Coincontol is to split coins into batches to get faster rewards from staking. Comments embedded into the transactions is a no feature. Colored coins have existed for years and being able to launch / create ur assets is anything but breakthrough in the plane of altcoin development. You can think of ETH as a coin factory too. That said there is less than nothing to boast about in that regard.

was one of the first coins i bought back in like 2013 or 2014, sad that it seems to have died

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

It's not dead. However, it isn't as active as it was in the early days indeed. Probably the growth of other altcoins have made many users switch to other altcoins. I still HODL some of my old FTC for sure.

(If FOMO will happen in the cryptocurrency world, I think some of the "old altcoins" might become much more popular again). This is just my opinion though, not any advice.

{Curently quite inactive as I'm really busy in my private life. I will get back soon!}

Insane that doge coin is higher than FTC.  Wouldn't have guessed this seven eight years ago.  Elon Musk needs to learn that neoscrypt is better than scrypt.  Maybe more exchanges would help.

i also reminisce and remember it, get Feathercoin from faucet and also mine it, because i was attracted from their logo design as well as their project, so i kept it for some time then sold it when the price was good at that time on btc-e exchange, became an early miner where hashrate not high yet even mining FTC when it used my computer was quite profitable, glad to see this old altcoin project still exists today

And if we’re still nostalgic, then, in the fall of 2013, mining pools began to massively switch to the stratum protocol, which reduced the number of rejected and increased profitability.
Feathercoin was then a real mining favorite

Hello, please help, if possible.

I need to import a FTC (feathercoin) private key originally from electrum-ftc desktop wallet. That one will not connect to the network no matter what I do. Feathcoin-QT (the full node wallet) is connected to the network, but there is no apparent way to import a private key (the "export/backup" option is easy to find, but not import), and no matching info on Google.

Earlier, I tried Edge Android wallet (error message every time when importing), and the few others supporting FTC, none worked. This has to be possible, how? Thank you.

Use https://atomicdex.io/en/downloads/ and import your privkey there... check "allow custom seed" before entering your FTC privkey.
