Bitcoin price slumps on eve of Coinbase Halving.

I hope Coinbase still goes through with the halving. Otherwise the price will crash a lot.

You know they just axed Germany and Canada, right?
Just found out Coinbase banned Germany & Luxembourg. I guess this is more than just talk.
Apparently Localbitcoin doesn't work there either Sad

coinbase is looking a little ragged these days what with gdax usability issues and them losing utility in a few countries. they need some extra vc millions to throw away to look nice and shiny again.

The amount of FUCD and general misinformed/malicious negativity that has been spread about the halving means there will be a relief rally of some sort when it turns out to be a nothing more than a quite boring, uneventful clicking over of the time-stamping calendar and everything works as advertised on the tin.

For those of us that have been around for the first one it isn't even a consideration but there are probably a lot of new faces who will be apprehensive about the deflationary mechanism in the bitcoin algorithm until they see it work with their own eyes.

Indeed. I was not in btc at the previous halving, or well I was not so deep in btc ^^
It doesn't matter that I understand the concept of halving, until I saw its consequences, or better said its no-consequences, it's hard to consider it as a "non-event".

Especially with all the hype around it!

Mind blowing news from Dr. Ruja.

The business is heading in to phase 2, so if phase 1 scared you with doubt and suspicion...

This just in! An open letter to Dr. Ruja from former coin top leader and host Imi Shah.  Shocked

This is the wrong thread for this.

You know what, you're right. This thread's sense of humour has been surgically removed. Shame about that. Embarrassed

Oh but it is still oh so damn hilarious...

So UK courts allowing hearing of legal blocking attempt of Brexit, and S&P 500 rallies to a new ATH in the midst of the worst global recession in history?

Yeah, the global market crash, the BIG ONE, is getting closer.

Eliminate your outstanding debts and buy more bitcoin.

Some German and Italian banks going bankrupt because of market Brexit panic could start the BIG ONE. Once bail ins start it will be too late to buy more Bitcoin because buying a whole one will be too expensive for most.

This idiocy thinking has to stop.  You can and always will be able to buy bitcoin, at ANY exchange rate, because it's divisible to 8 decimals. It will never be too expensive, *ever*. You no more have to buy a whole bitcoin than you have to buy a bar or truckload of gold. People that keep spouting this nonsense to themselves or each other will suffer and remain poor.

Yes in such a scenario Bitcoin and precious metals might very probably go up in price.
However you will always be able to buy Bitcoin. You don't have to buy a whole Bitcoin.
Let me tell you something, although you might think I'm crazy saying this.
Each bit counts!
In ~10+ years you will talk about bits in terms of Bitcoin!Anyone who will own a few whole Bitcoin then will have made a really good investment.Maybe the best in his lifetime! Wink

BTC is already out of league for most of the people. If we think about one btc at $650 is unaffordable for tha majority of the people out there.

I'm here because I bought in $220 which was already a lot IMHO.

A higher BTC price will make it an elite thing
