Haha, bitcoin.de, you crazy.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitcoinde/btceur

I have an account there. Gonna put some BTC up for 5999 euro.

Bitcoin.de is special since they only arrange trades between private people. So it's not like on kraken or bitstamp where the lowest aks price is filled and than the order book up.

You can place your 6k€ Order there and a friend of you can pick this special order (ignoring all lower offers) and fullfill this order. When both parties mark the trade es successfull (maybe even without transfering a single euro) the buyer gets the Bitcoins (minus the bitcoin.de fee) and the trade is done.

So it's easy to "paint the tape" on bitcoin.de Wink

I get at least 33% off almost everything in Amazon ... but I have to wait a bit before someone buys it for me.

This was addressed years ago, early on in their deployment. I believe someone was questioned by the police about a package and the item was taken by the police.

After that they created a guarantee on all purchases up to $10,000 and I assume have taken some measures to prevent this. I've used it for years and never had a problem.

So...theoretically, say you were going to a government with a list of legal changes that would make way for an ideal environment for cryptocurrencies and blockchains what would you propose?

Things such as, no certification requirements for exchanging cryptocurrencies or foreign/domestic currencies...

Still holding steady at Bitstamp when it comes to bids:
Quote
Bitstamp | Total bids: 59050149 USD. Total asks: 2904 BTC. Ratio: 20331.04298 USD/BTC. | Data vintage: 0.0321 seconds

Though I'm somewhat annoyed that we still have not recovered from fake news (seems to be an increasing problem in the world nowadays anyways).

I am convinced that if I sell today, all the newspapers and news broadcasts of the world will start to talk about the cryptos tomorrow, and soon will see the bitcoin at 100,000 euros.
I'm also convinced that if I do not sell the bubble will burst and I will feel a crap.

I've always thought the whole idea behind it was a bit dodgy, but maybe it's worth trying then? I use GiftOff. Been great so far.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Nothing new, still bouncing along more or less sideways... currently $4265USD/$5177CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltcoinCash also stalled at $536USD/$649CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Pretty boring but I suppose no news is good news. Ho hum.

You can always use a service like usendhome.com though the shipping cost might be too much (often more then 50 euros). But worthwhile if you are ordering something expensive. Also, amazon.com doesn't ship many items over-the-coast so usendhome is a work-around for that kind of situation.

I don't think it is likely going to happen within this year, but I wouldn't mind being pleasently surprised. MAST as a soft fork is just a no-brainer.

The first time you run version 0.15.0, your chainstate database will be converted to a new format, which will take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the speed of your machine.

that was that UXTO or whatever, that went pretty quickly

I do not see this full reindex referenced in the notes
