Surely, your situation does not seem enviable, VB.

Its not that easy, he would have to request compensation equivalent to the price of bitcoin on January 1 2021 for the fiat loaned, but that is impossible..., at the moment I only have the agreement for the money to be returned at the end of this month, we are on the dec-20 and the bag is empty.
(I will have to start with a less aggressive but constant strategy, in case I can take advantage of some lower prices.)

Thx for reminding me how dumb I am. Wink

Its not what happens to you that defines you. Its what you do next!

Good luck sir.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still consolidating just a smidgen higher than yesterday and the day before... currently $23565USD/$30135CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Let's keep this slow controlled rise going... not too fast.

Go Bitcoin go.

have you heard that Elwars cruise ship Satoshi is getting scrapped?
They couldn't get insurance.

https://mailchi.mp/ba2ecae563e0/satoshis-final-voyage?e=613696359f

Is anyone really surprised?

Of all the mainstream financial rackets, insurance companies perhaps are the worst.

They hate Bitcoin.

I don’t have a lot of coins so I really need $100k+ for it to matter in a life changing way..

I’m pretty comfy being poor though.. Have been poor all my life..
I am very self sufficient so I can do, enjoy, and have a lot while spending very little..
I don’t need as much $$ because I don’t need to hire everyone else to do things for me.. I can do most everything on my own..

My dream is to have a long vacation in a sailboat around the world..
I don’t need a massive expensive boat and can do all the maintenance work myself.. So like $50k for a boat buy/maintenance budget and basically money for food/expenses to last atleast a few years..
If god is kind he will smite me down in a hurricane before I run out of food money so I never have to go back to the rat race..

Nah if god is kind you will find a sinking boat rescue a BTC billionaire that gives you two old unopened 50 coin blocks.
100 btc at 23 k is 2.3 million

100 btc at 100k is 10 million since you will be crusing when coin is 100k + it will be over 10 million in value.

There is an old beer commerical with the theme it does not get better than this.

To make the gift of 100btc to you better BTC doubles by the time you get back on shore.

Making the 10 mil in coin worth 20 mil.

Elwar is a likable guy, but I've never understood his obsession with seasteading. I guess that, when you become super-rich, something screws up in your head and you become obsessed with pointless, impossible tasks. Risto Pietila comes to mind. It's sad, really.

Trying to go against nature is a futile, pointless task, as is trying to go against the establishment without a feasible plan. Taking the law on your hands and setting up a seastead in the middle of the ocean is madness and delusion combined.

IMHO.

Thanks bro. I've seen my share of drama, real life and fiction. The reason why that story makes me sad and wary is because it shows the level of opposition "freedom" projects can expect to face.

Possibly, but Elwar has a vision, and I say its better to spend your time on the planet pursuing that than ways to re-invest your already substantial wealth. Breakthroughs are made by giving new ideas a go, ala Bitcoin in our mutual instance. That kind of spirit should be encouraged.

I mean he's got a great idea of truly independent new state or community but I still think he chose a wrong way to reach his goal. It should be much easier to bribe some corrupt officials of some 3rd world microstate to let them use their land for your needs. Then declare autonomy and independence etc...     Cool

I also don't have the many bitcoins to substantially change my life @$100k, but i don't care. Here's why:
See, i don't even want to get filthy rich with my few bitcoins, it's enough for me if a fraction of it buy me a new van.
The main part of my "stash" is being fully invested into the next great project: The future of my kids.
Each of them gets an equal share in the future. Not in the form of fiat, the will get a paper wallet.
If only one of the four will probably get filthy rich by the help of these coins, i will be more than just satisfied.
Most richies only buy things. Things can't make you happy. If you know you have bought a few coins at the low price your kids will never have a chance to see again, and that you were giving your fiat to compensate this for them, my friend, i can tell you it already makes me happy today, at only a tad below $24k!
Life is more about what you are able to give, not what you may or may not get, imo.

Guess what makes you more happy...

Look at Bawb (and Rick).

Use your corn to give, not to take. The only way to make you happy.

That's entirely possible, that's why you'll need some skills: like for example you have to be a good negotiator, great at politics (read: lying) etc.. you'll also most probably need a bunch of good friends who share similar views. Then you have much greater chance to succeed than in a seapod floating in the middle of nowhere.

Elon Musk tweet discussion  Grin

How such a progressive, futuristic person such as Elon Musk could *not yet* be onboard with Bitcoin treasuries full tilt is completely beyond me.

I could say the same for such companies as Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.

Methinks that powerful people have kept them dissuaded for years now.
