I don’t have a lot of coins so I really need $100k+ for it to matter in a life changing way..

I’m pretty comfy being poor though.. Have been poor all my life..
I am very self sufficient so I can do, enjoy, and have a lot while spending very little..
I don’t need as much $$ because I don’t need to hire everyone else to do things for me.. I can do most everything on my own..

My dream is to have a long vacation in a sailboat around the world..
I don’t need a massive expensive boat and can do all the maintenance work myself.. So like $50k for a boat buy/maintenance budget and basically money for food/expenses to last atleast a few years..
If god is kind he will smite me down in a hurricane before I run out of food money so I never have to go back to the rat race..

Frequently poor people (relatively speaking) will have systems that they are able to live on less, but even if you have figured out some of these system, like you seem to suggest, you don't want to end up overextending yourself because you go on some kind of an extravagance that you cannot afford... so as I recall, you are not exactly very old, so if you do not rush things, and you already know about bitcoin, just keep accumulating bitcoin and let the matter play out for another cycle or two before you go on some kind of premature spending spree.  No need to attempt to rush a possible transition from poor to rich by prematurely spending the value that could actually transition you out of poor boy status.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  You might thank me later.   Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

I'd even suggest eddie to try for hiring on a small boat as a sailor/seaman, if possible. this way he can set sails and additionally make money to invest into moar corn.
Then go for an own boat after the next bullrun (2025/26).

I already think I might as well hodl until after the pump after the next halving in another 4-5 years from now..

I have a pretty darn good job now making quite good money for my area, with more to come, doing what I do best..
Building out equipment and field work making equipment run and keep running.. ‘Tis what I do..

Much more stable sector now too..
From fracking (very unstable) now to environmental remediation (very stable and increasing with every added regulation)..
Hazmat work cleaning up hazardous waste sites and remediating industrial waste streams..
Basically pumping whatever through whatever filters/medias to capture whatever chemicals need capturing..

I’m fecking good at this kind of stuff.. Building and running a lot of complex pumping systems.. (Like fracking)
Even a lot of welding and fabrication work building our equipment (you don’t just buy this stuff), which I am also quite good at and enjoy doing..
And I am licensed to drive heavy trucks to transport our equipment, which I am also good at..
So my specific skill set is very valuable where I am now..

Things are good..

Also why I am very self sufficient.. Mechanic, welder, fabricator, operator, construction, electrical.. I can fix/make Basically whatever..

I was actually thinking about, and mentioned to Elwar, about sending him my resume, to work on that ship and keep it running no matter what it takes, cause that’s what I do..
I can understand complex systems and scramble at the drop of a hat to keep it going, such as keeping that ship from sinking or floating dead in the water.. I make shit happen..
But I guess not..

I am not very good in the digital realm when it comes to software and cryptocurrency stuff, but I am a beast in the physical realm..

Well, Well, Well this has been a good run, I wonder what is going to be this runs top, I am still feeling a top around 40k.

This is complete speculation, fully pulled out of my ass.

Depends what you mean by top.

I figure the 2020/2021 bull run tops out somewhere in the $300k-$400k range, but we'll probable have a few corrections along the way... maybe the first one around $30k.

Yes, 300-400k sounds possible and 40K could be a first top in a double hump, however, 40K is too low for a full cycle top since so far we ALWAYS corrected at least 80-85%.
20% remainder of 40K is just 8K, which is lower than prior ATH, which so far never happened.
80% drop from 300K is 60K, which is more inline with the priors (from 400K would be 50K, also quite doable).

Hmm, why not sending him your resume, no matter what.
If he needs someone with your skills, who is not just a name on a payroll, but a bitcointalk collegue, he would happily contact you, i think.

EDIT: What i (try to) teach my kids is that if they ever have to decide to take an opportunity, they should absolutely take it if they only remotely think they might bite their asses later for not having taken it. (is that even half correct english?)

bitcoin is the native currency electricity ... it's surprised me applications like this for metering electricity in bitcoin aren't more widespread (most likely due to the volatility/immaturity of bitcoin pricing)

Charging your Tesla using the Lightning Network. Shocked

Worldwide hysteria, every country locks down, world economy tumbles, wallstreet indices drop to zero, while insitutions, governments and big corps hedge into bitcoin. Elon musk will start it with a tweet. bitcoin $1m Q1/2021. The world is forced to accept and integrate bitcoin. hodlers unite with uncovering Satoshi and buy the world to make it a free place.

Ya hear that Average Joe, stay the fk away from Bitcoin!

Quote from: Motley Fool
The problem is that bitcoin lacks genuine scarcity. Its perceived cap of 21 million tokens exists because of computer code. Last I checked, code can always be erased and rewritten. While it's unlikely that a community consensus would be reached to increase the circulating supply of bitcoin, the possibility of this happening isn't zero.

Point 1: They have no clue about past Bitcoin forks, don't know history and feel entitled to say something just because their audience has even less of a clue.

Quote
By comparison, a precious metal like gold has a hard supply limit. We can't use alchemy to make more gold.
But we can reopen closed (and still potentially profitable) mines. It could even be conceived that some big power could throttle production to manipulate the price... but what am I thinking? There's no such need, when you can just manipulate paper gold. As for fiat money, gold parity is a thing of the past, so it's basically irrelevant.

Point 2: They have no clue about the gold market.

Quote
The only gold that's available is what's been mined or is still underground. When the only parameter of scarcity is written computer code, that's not true scarcity.

Sure, like diamonds. Scarce by Divine Decree, right?

Point 3: Points 1 and 2 might be off. In which case, the Motley Fool knows these things; he's just bullshitting clueless readers.

In fact, it seems he's quite active in the Turkish forum (last seen today?). I tried to google translate and it seems the guy has turned bullish:

If we don't crash, which is $ 100,000 (YTD) after 2025, you know, everything happens at any time.

The Bitcoin, which is in my heart, is no longer priced in dollars, but we will see if those days will come. The days when everything is priced according to bitcoin. (Whales crush it whenever we go on gas)
To be honest, I am entering the 21st century with 2021 not only bitcoin but other cryptocurrencies and metals that I value.

Ytd.

Elon Musk tweet discussion  Grin

How such a progressive, futuristic person such as Elon Musk could *not yet* be onboard with Bitcoin treasuries full tilt is completely beyond me.

I could say the same for such companies as Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.

Methinks that powerful people have kept them dissuaded for years now.

the epicness of that twitter conversation is hard to grasp. them billionaires are coming.
Yeah, this is mind-blowing indeed. It was noted on bloomberg site as well https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-12-20/u-k-s-hancock-says-new-covid-mutatation-is-out-of-control
Meanwhile Bitcoin does what she does in a bull market. After a short lived 5%-ish dip, a new pump followed leading to a new ATH of $24 298 (Bitstamp). And as we could expect the small fish eated that 1% gain they dreamed of. I mean only the skilled traders. The rest registered 5% stop loss, again. The same morons did this exercise over and over again at prices 9K, 10K, 11K and so on. They can't read the sings which are so big that they bump their heads against them - billions of fiat flowing into Bitcoin each weak. The bitcoin balance on exchanges continues to decrease rapidly, which shows that the top is way too far yet. In the last 6 months the holding gave a 2.5x profit. In the next year it won't be lower for sure. Instead, hundreds of stop losses just because the trend changed for several hours. What is the profit after so many stop losses and rare 1% gains always boggles my mind. But some people clearly have no brains for that simple math and science  Grin
