I wonder if mine are similar to the picture of either of yours?



I have these left over from early 2022, and I had a Chinese friend who bought these in a Chinese food store and that friend ate these as a snack.  I don't know much more about them, except that I had tried one or two, I was not impressed, and the remaining ones shown in the picture have largely been just sitting in my bowl for 2.75 years-ish.

You can compare your left over with the one I posted and to me they both are same

 This was my original question albeit long winded.  While it might seem highly technical, both acorns and chestnuts come from trees in the beech family (Fagaceae) but acorns (which I believe are what you pictured at the market) come from trees in the genus Quercus while chestnuts come from trees in the genus Castanea.

 So, do you call all of these nuts chestnuts in Urdu language?   If not, what term do you use for the nuts that philipma1957 posted?

Urdu language have two meanings for Dates:-

One meaning is to refer to fruit Date, in urdu its called khajoor (کھجور )

While the other one is about calendar Date, in Urdu its called Taarekhain  ( تاریخیں  )

 Thanks for teaching me that.  I tried to use google translate and then I searched the word تاریخیں thinking it would be a verification of the translating. The first thing it showed me was 3 images of the fruit.  My bad for trusting google.
