Not really free, but in most cases of (real) illness, (certain) medication is prescribed, thus way cheaper than bought off prescription. The thing is, you pay a good amount of any money you earn for that privilege. If you're healthy, you're kind of paying for the sick people (and also the old).
Income taxes are coming on top of this.

EDIT: And regarding doctors and surgeons, you get good services if you pay extra. If you are happy with the (mostly lower quality) standard treatment, much of the expenses are taken over by insurance, but the rates are low, so you find yourself on doctor's waiting list or go to the really bad ones, where you wait for hours to get serviced (kind of).
I only go this route if i need painkillers or a sick note.

No one were expecting wildfire like this here I am agreed with @philipma1957 they spend too much on illegal things but for their own peoples they have nothing.
Poor grandma have no way to keep backup of wallet so she lost anyone can go like this feeling sad for her lost as she is now 70 years old minimum chances of having anything like this in the future.

It's hard to convince people of proper backup procedures. Bitcoin, photographs, important documents, all can be gone in an instant. In the times of paper only, it was even worse. At least now, I suppose, 'the cloud' can allow some semblance of offsite backup. The IT industry has done a poor job of educating consumers of the risks to their data and how to manage them and providing the tools to do so. Current efforts seem to center around selling cloud storage which, at least grandma would have her bitcoin, I guess but there are risks there too.

yeah I watch L. A. burn the last few days. I realize how vulnerable I would be to a large fire.

My development has 1500 homes In Nov 2024 my town Howell, NJ was suffering from a strong drought.

If a fire had started in my development in Nov 2024 on one of the windy days it would have been bad. If my house torched to the ground it

would be an issue for my btc.

Not my cash (fdic banks still have that edge).  I will need to change my system up.

Michael Saylor releases investment tracking chart for the tenth consecutive week, suggesting continued accumulation of Bitcoin.

Not free. Universal. He pays for it through that 50%+ tax. In addition, in the last decade millions of people have been allowed to enter Europe giving them free healthcare from minute 1 (for them it is free because they had not contributed to the system before), which has led to a worsening of the service and longer waiting lists. I don't know how things are going in Germany, where I think Hhampuz lives, but I will give you an example from the UK, where there is, as you would say, “free” healthcare:

Quote
What matters to individual patients is the time spent waiting. NHS England has an elective care recovery plan to eliminate long waits. Median waiting times stand at 14.5 weeks and only 58% of people are being treated within 18 weeks, so further action will be needed. Eliminating the backlog and restoring waiting times to 18 weeks will be very challenging. The achievements of the early 2000s, when waiting times were brought down from 18 months to 18 weeks, shows it can be done. However, this will require significant investment alongside sustained focus and effective supporting policies.

If you have a non-urgent ailment that requires a visit to a specialist, let's say you have discomfort when you walk and you start limping you cannot go directly to a rheumatologist or traumatologist, you have to go first to a GP, which depending on where you live can cost you 3 days or a couple of weeks, and then if the GP decides to refer you to a specialist, and does not give you for example an anti-inflammatory and makes you come back after a month, then you can spend up to 4 and a half months if you are lucky until he sees you. And imagine what it was like in the early 2000s.

Also, for the record and from a distance I think that the system you have in the USA is quite bad in some respects but don't think that the “free” healthcare that glitters so much is gold.

Quote
A British judge ruled against a man who wants to excavate a landfill where he says a hard drive with access to thousands of bitcoins was mistakenly dumped over 11 years ago.

Quote
"It would be a criminal offence for the claimant or anyone acting for him to sort over or disturb any refuse deposited at the Site, unless he were authorised to do so by the defendant: see section 27 of CPA 1974 and section 60 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990," the ruling said. "The defendant could only give such authorisation, or excavate the Site itself, if it were first to apply for and obtain a new environmental permit from NRW, as the Schedule of permitted activities in its existing permit does not allow excavation of the Site."
