Maybe it was a yet to be published buy of MSTR, one that didn't send the spot price south a little  Wink

February, $120k expected. It has to start somehow, chances are not bad that the next bigger moves are beginning today.

EDIT: Found some chart on the phone today, shown in a YT video, in the scope of some analysis which pointed out that individuals were increasingly selling and institutions increasingly buying since Dec'24. No source, because i'm using YT anonymously on the phone, so there's no browsing history at all.
Poor bastards.
While i don't assume OG's to sell a hell lot of their stash at this point of the cycle. I think it's more likely these are coiners from post 2017 years, who decided to sell at $100k early, even if only a part of their holdings, which they better did.
But if the data is valid and plausible, it's somehow concerning, innit?

EDIT2:

Feb 3rd 2025
"The candle of remorse"

You've read it here first  Grin Tongue

If the price doesn't dip again to or below $91.*k, i would consider this a sign of strength. It wouldn't be too surprising to see a daily rise of about median $1k daily over the rest of Feb.
Closing substantially higher than $101.5k would be nice, which is about the top of yesterday's candle.

Ugh... not holding my breath... with all the other massive shitcoinery signals I hope they can get this at least SOMEWHAT right.  I expect "diversity" which we all know is a mistake... and if that is the announcement then I will be mildly pleased.  It's the full on fumble I am scared of lol.

One thing I am sure of, regarding a strategic 'crypto' reserve, it will be bitcoin only if they do. The US will not buy privately printed currencies.

God I hope you are right Bitebits...

And honestly the last few days ought to highlight why it should be as you say.

⚠️ Bloody Monday! Trump's new tariffs send shockwaves through global markets, sparking panic selling and triggering a record $2B in liquidations. Bitcoin finds support at $91K and is now rallying.

There's a lot of rumor about CSR, but as we know how political speech works, it could happen that US-based Crapto will be treated differently, may it manifest by exclusion of those of certain regulative rules, or tax-free trading for US citizens and/or exchanges, for example. Later on, a BSR may be created by including seized Bitcoins from various authorities, which wouldn't shoot the price to the moon instantly, still growing a significant mass as an initial reserve. I have also read about plans and suggestions to keep the price down while upsizing the BSR. Maybe seized Crapto will be converted to the few US-based ones and included as well, then we have a CSR and only the government directly profits from it, further avoiding to buy spot or even break OTC desks, which would send the price to quite a degree. Spot/OTC buying would be delayed into the next bear market, if they understand at least anything about how to grow a BTC stack.

I was seeing the impact of the last Trump measures (im talking about the tax foe Canada Mexico and China) and so far the crypto market stands pretty solid, it only make a very litle movement like the past one from deepseek, lets see in the monday when the normal markets open and see if that make more noise in our BTC, but so far this position is solid rock, above 100.000 despite big economics swings.

It’s funny how Canadians are ready to start a trade war with America over a 25% tariff, but the 20% tax coming on April 1st to fight climate change is totally fine. I actually feel bad for the people of Canada. They don’t deserve the mess their weak leadership has gotten them into. On the plus side, Canadians who have been into Bitcoin for a while should have no problem paying off any debts they may have due to their currency nosediving against BTC.

It's not funny but it is our own fault and while I'm not willing to expend time and energy explaining myself as to the whys, I would add that I fear we will never break this cycle of self-destruction. (Thank you Satoshi for Bitcoin!)
We have fallen behind most major economies since 2000 and our per-capita GDP has essentially stagnated since 2014, we are more inefficient, over-regulated and over-taxed than every before and there is no relief in sight.  These Trump tariffs are only going to accelerate our downward spiral.  At this rate we'll own nothing and be happy much faster than the rest of the civilized world.

On the plus side, the Canadian dollar’s poor performance should make it easier for Canadian Bitcoiners to pay off any outstanding debt.

What is debt?  Been a while. Smiley

As long as I am sitting on Santa's lap, I want two things.

1.  The US announces they will be stockpiling Bitcoin.  And only Bitcoin. But if they are going to be idiotic and add ETH or (throwing up in mouth) XRP or others then I want to allocation to look like 85% BTC and the shit can fight over the crumbs.

2.  A suspension on Cap Gains for Bitcoin (or crypto if we must).

Honestly I think #2 is pretty pie in the sky... but I have been a very good boy this year, Sant...  erm... nevermind...  I take it back.  I've been a dick mostly.  But still?

But if they are going to be idiotic and add ETH
1st time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $4k
2nd time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $3.9k
3rd time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $3.7k
4th time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $3.4k
5th time BTC hits $100k , ETH is at $3k
6th time BTC hits $100k, ETH is at $2.7k
