Yes. Elsewhere they say it explicitly: all the yield is expected to come from the basis trade - nothing riskier than that. I lost the link and can't find it right now, but it confirms what you're saying. I wouldn't mind throwing some corn at a thing like that, especially if the custodian is "too big to fail", as Coinbase got to be. As for nonavailability in the US, this is exactly the kind of thing that might change with a friendlier regulator at work. And I'm pretty sure there will be copycats and similar funds will pop up like mushrooms. Trusting the custodian will be the hard bit. But yield without selling is sooooo sweeeet...

The leaders of the two extremist parties both just lost their seats. Carney is not a wokeist like Biden, Trudeau or Singh nor is he a neofascist like Trump or Poilievre. He's an economist and experienced negotiator. Canada just moved solidly to the right, but not too far.

I thought it was a rather large engineering undertaking for Pakistan so I just searched for "new bridges in Pakistan" (not in quotes for the search) looking for images - I think the 5th or 6th image matched the structures in your picture and similarly in "short videos" I found a few from that project. It's quite impressive and much better than any of the mountain passes I've travelled in Romania.
Just to add few words here... It's a "Fort Munro Steel Bridge". It is the 2nd largest steel bridge in Asia. Actually it's eight steel bridges that are inter-connected with each other to make a single bridge that spreads over 1.5 kilometers. It was engineered in collaboration with Japan. No street view but this is best you can get a view from the top of the bridge https://maps.app.goo.gl/ogF3c5Zgeb5mvFPe9And another view on same road a bit further from the bridge https://maps.app.goo.gl/hNViajfYPb6Bd1xp6The discussion of Fort Munro and it's Steel Bridge will remain incomplete if we don't discuss the Hino trucks that pass through this region. These trucks reflects the "Pakistan Truck Art". These are two Hino Trucks that are decorated in traditional Pakistani Style. It roughly costs around 1 Million Pak rupee (3500$) to decorate a single truck like that.

President Trump's executive director for digital assets, Bo Hines, recently made it clear that Bitcoin has become an important component of global politics. Comparing Bitcoin to "digital gold" and describing countries as engaging in a "space race" for it, the US government made clear its purpose to accumulate Bitcoin and create a powerful strategic reserve. In addition, President Trump's executive order to reserve Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a strategic reserve will create a new wave of government confidence and competition in cryptocurrencies worldwide. This could further increase the market value of Bitcoin, as other countries may follow suit, which will contribute to increasing demand and value for Bitcoin. In short, this move by the US government creates the potential for Bitcoin to increase in value, as it will, on the one hand, establish Bitcoin as a strong financial asset, and on the other hand, increase global interest in the cryptocurrency market. https://www.coinreporter.io/2025/03/president-trumps-executive-director-on-digital-assets-signals-aggressive-bitcoin-acquisition-for-strategic-reserve/?amp=1

Regarding the mayor power outage in Spain and Portugal, and a lot of people now without cash because they use centralized banks app for his daily duties are alone and without buying anything, do you know who can still buy something?
Yes anyone with BTCTC doing a easy P2P.
Well, no (the BTC part)... Unfortunately, It is not easy to do a BTC TX without electricity nor comms... Cash has been the king today. I was just about to mention that, glad I saw your post, written by someone who is actually affected... I am reminded of an early AI post (can't find it unfortunately) that basically claimed it was possible to do BTC transactions without the internet. It was one of the worst posts I've ever seen. Like yes, you can relay a transaction via satellite to a node that will push it to the mempool for you, granted you have some sort of power source. But the internet is still involved at some point. I suppose if you have solar power or a generator and Starlink then you can still make BTC transactions during a blackout. why not a satellite phone? with some wallet app. why the solar or generator. starlink should work but you need to text instructions or emails. maybe no satellite wallets yet. Sorry to quote the whole conversation, but philipma got my point. Since in the mid year satelite coverage are gonna become a normal for top tier cellphones and i expect to see it going to all the cellphones in a short space of time, you are gonna be able to make any transactions no matter the blackout, obviusly im talking a blackout like we see no more than 24/48 hrs(you can also have some small power banks and be longer). Also you can have like you said previously some very optimized portable generator and some starlink connected to it. My main point was against the centralization of the payments we still have in the banks or payment processors. In BTC since we have a global decentralization no matter if a whole zone or region goes into a blackout since from all across the world can process the payment/transaction.

Just like Trudeau, the man lacks integrity and I can't believe Canadians fell for it while somehow conflating Poilievre with Trump... ah I'm sure nobody wants to hear about it in here. I'm done. Sorry

What could be the reason behind the sudden increase in the price of BTC? Do you know any updates on this?

You sound like someone who has never driven a Tesla… When I had my Cybertruck wrapped they gave me a brand new top of the line Kia EV to drive around. I would’ve believed you if you told me those two vehicles were manufactured 25 years apart. As a Tesla owner I’m insulted when people make these comparisons. Go drive one. There is Tesla and there is everything else. They are decades ahead of the competition. I too had no idea until I drove one.

People trying to get their USPS fix in before the weekend? Dip when the vendors sell, and then a spike when Saylor hits it with Wall Street " Altstock" money. (New term I came up with for stocks trying to sucker people away from just buying Bitcoin directly, but still making them "feel" like they are apart of Bitcoin in exchange for paper.)

My understanding on the AZ strategic reserve bills is that Katie Hobbs has until May 5th to sign them. If she doesn’t sign them then 2 things could happen. If the legislative session has adjourned then the bills get vetoed. If the legislative session is ongoing, then the bills automatically pass. It looks like the legislative session will run through May 5th, so it is likely the bills will pass. Cinco De Mayo may be the day that US States get off 0.
