I wonder how AI will interact with bitcoin.
Apparently, there is a great job displacement that is starting to happen.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/software-engineer-lost-150k-job-090000839.htmlNearsighted corps just let go of people instead of making a person-AI "teams".
Some numbers being thrown around are positively depressing:
Dario Amodei (Anthropic) says that by September (!) 90% of the code would be written by AI, which would then become almost 100% within 12 mo.
Microsoft fired 5000 people recently despite big profits and Meta-the same number or even 6000.
2024-150K tech workers lost their job
2025-50K so far.
As an early trend, it started in programming and tech, not sure where it would end.
Suddenly, being a programmer in Silicon valley with at least 250K (or more) pay package becomes not very appealing.
Some more extreme views (David Scott Patterson on X) are that by 2030 there will be very few jobs left and there will be a need for a large UBI.
What would be left: artistic pursuits, travel, reading, meditation, nursing/caretaking, friendships, etc.
I don't necessarily agree with that but, surely, there will be large job market changes, perhaps.
All this should cause a tremendous deflation.
PS I leave you with a very interesting and, perhaps, prophetic quote from John Adams: "I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain."-- John Adams
We were/are the ones who studied math and natural history, commerce, agriculture, etc...
