yeah, I also prefer to do the 1 smerit thing. So I see that that naturally comes with difficulties when you have a lot to distribute as a merit source.
Well that's the thing, merit sources don't have to distribute the merit... its a totally voluntary thing with no benefits or requirements. Even it might be possible do, I don't think it doesn't make any sense to not distribute merits being a merit source. Admittedly, I'm a pretty jaded person when it comes to new accounts in this thread and estimate that 90% of them aren't actually "new" -- they are alts of greedy tards who are ready to take advantage of anyone's goodwill for the sake of potentially earning a few more bucks. I suppose its the utter phoniness of their participation here that gets me the most.
Yes this is what disturbs me too. Half of the WO turned into a low IQ kindergarten. Today this thread consists of mainly chartbuddy posts (which is ok) and valueless farmer posts. Sometimes I just thought, and probably users like nutilda as well, "why is JJG meriting this so obviously merit farming account?" Which might be not so obvious when you have to go through many new accoutns and decide if to merit
The problem (for me) is the behavior being reinforced when suckup slop is rewarded with merits. Maybe its just me, but I think if you really want to help someone, teaching them how to kiss ass is not the way... Is this pic real?? If yes it's actually really funny. It's so on point that JJGs merit is well deserved imo. lol

Is this pic real?? If yes it's actually really funny. It's so on point that JJGs merit is well deserved imo. lol Part of the problem when a forum member makes shit up (and even makes an image of such made up shit), there will be some forum members who end up believing such made up shit.. .such as the above screen shot that nutildah seems to have had used his creative energies to make in terms of the propaganda that he is spouting out and some spin that he wants other forum members to agree to his perspective of the "severity of the matter".. and yeah, some members are going to develop impressions based on the supply of such evidence, even if nutildah might have meant such evidence as a way of exaggeratingly making his point (spin) and presuming that everyone will actually understand that he made the shit up. I would likely remember if I had seen such a post and merited it (especially if such post were only around 2 weeks ago).. perhaps? I am not claiming to remember which posts I merited or did not merit over the last 7.5 years, yet surely if some posts are more recent, I might remember some of them that I merited or did not merit. On the face of it, I would not have had merited such a post as it is written, unless there might be some context in which such a post might have had some seemingly meaningful applicability, like sarcasm or something, since of course there seems to be some humor in it that could have had been within a humorous context... At the same time, surely there could be several posts that exists out there in the forum in which the posts had gotten edited subsequent to my having had merited them, yet it would not necessarily mean that I had merited such posts for the same or similar content that had ended up getting put into the post after the post had been edited.

But sadly, most people - majority of the middle aged adults relate BTC to silkroad or terror funding, which ofcourse is there.

Where the do you get these asinine ideas-from Ms Lagarde? Bitcoin is in ETFs that many millions of people buy. Stupid people can get all kind of ideas but we don't have to listen to this irrelevant crap, especially here. In particular, I don't have to. For some reason, I don't get to see any of hypebrother's posts...

I'm wrapping up two solid weeks, actually 15 days of camping... entirely alone. And I know it's not something that everyone could do at this moment of your life here and now... with whatever demands and resource restrictions you are under.
And some of you may have done this before, so I'm not trying to sound like Mr. Smartypants.
You should just do it. It's so good. I'm tired of it now, but that's kind of good, too.Tomorrow I will roll home and see my family, each of whom I love a little bit more than I did when I left.
Just saying, it's worth it.
Maybe it's not camping for you. Maybe it's you rent some little room in some place for a couple weeks. A hostel in Amsterdam, an Airbnb in the Ozarks. I don't know. Maybe you just want to go to San Francisco and live as a homeless person for a couple weeks and see what that's like.
Whatever your jam is.
I'm sad it's almost over.
I'm glad to be going home.
Just those two sentences are worth all of it to me.
Hope all of you are well.

Sure...Diogen has shown it to us some time ago. That said, I am fine in an open nature for a first few days...maybe up to ten days-two weeks; then the everyday struggle to put up the tent, heat up the food and the absence of "you now what" starts to grind. Additionally, I hate mosquitos, but there is something worse than them: I give you a a louse fly (a deer ked; not a louse!). They are blood sucking and ugly as ...

Maybe you just want to go to San Francisco and live as a homeless person for a couple weeks and see what that's like.
That would be a pretty scary, and yeah two week? Wow. There might be certain points in our lives when we might not have anything to lose, and we give homelessness a shot, but I recall a couple of times seeing some homeless guys who had some pretty nice things and they looked healthy and even in pretty good shape.. so like maybe early 30s and in pretty good shape and health, but after several months on the street, they had most if not all of their things stolen and then getting beaten up from time to time takes a toll, even on those who appear to be healthy and strong.. Surely other homeless will likely target the homeless who they believe have more things that they can get.. and if they can get those things without having to ask, then all the better. Wow. He seems so lost with that level of lackening in specifics. With such vagueness, it is like he is suggesting 7.5% in each... which many of us would consider that kind of 50/50 to be absolutely crazy. Bitcoin is about 1,000x better than gold, yet bitcoin is about 1/9th of gold's current market cap... bitcoin has a lot of uppity to still play out relative to gold, and sure it could take a while, but still, we should not be considering them to be some kind of similar kind of an asset. Gold had already lost in regards to its demonetization in previous times, so why would gold recover from its having had already lost. I hardly believe that gold is necessary at all, so in that regard, I would say at most with a 15% allocation to both, then 1.36% in gold and 13.64% in bitcoin, and even that might be too much allocated to gold. I have actually been recommending 5% to 25% in bitcoin since 2020, which if the allocation were to be 25% to bitcoin, then at most 2.5% would then be permitted for gold, even though there still seems to be a some distraction by having that much gold, relative to bitcoin.

That would be a pretty scary, and yeah two week? Wow. I wouldn't pick that one either, honestly, but I just didn't want to be limiting people to whatever their imagination could imagine. My camping is simple but comfortable... where I live it's very hot. I have a tiny little camper trailer or what many of you might call a caravan. I spend the mornings in the hammock. I will often cook some meats for lunch. I'm not much of a breakfast eater. Go on walks around the lake and then at the heat of the day I can hide in my little box with some air conditioning running. Then make something for dinner... Paradise.

Do you have electricity or do you use a generator? I don't consider it camping if you can see a neighbor. For years I camped on private land rented as "storage" in various locations for dirt cheap. My little Honda inverter generator runs my AC, microwave and all my lights and electronics for about a gallon of gas a day. Even now, I rent a spot for a 37' trailer and a seabin (intermodal shipping container) for CAD$1000 per year plus $100 per year for an electrical connection. Okay so I can see a neighbor but he's a quarter mile away. It allows me to be near the trailhead to my lake while I continue build a gravel road to my lakeside site, Sometimes it's not how much you earn as how little you spend. Hopefully you're on private land (or crown land flying under the radar) and not some crowded, overpriced "campground/trailer park". Regardless, at least you're getting out there, living the good life. I hope you enjoy the back and forth. Every time I leave the city I find myself singing "On the Road Again". Every time I get back, I feel exhilarated at being back in the Big Smoke. Keep on rockin'.
