<really big snip>

Phil - Enjoy your new far leftwing governor, Mikie Sherrill. I'm sure she'll snuggle-up quickly to the socialist, communist mayor of NYC that has never had a job and will destroy it with his empty promises and extreme hate for Wall Street, law enforcement and Jews. FREE EVERTHING! What a fucking joke! I look for many up your way to leave, headed to Florida and Texas.

Mikie Sherrill was in the USN I was in the USN.

She has a fairly attractive daughter

Two plusses.

She has not said one thing in her campaign that will work for my wallet.

Although deep in her website she claims to be pro solar which is okay.

I would say on the surface

2 ups
1 okay and over 40 downsides.

Zorhan Mamdani is the most interesting winner of a major election in the USA since Jessie the body Ventura won the governor ship of Minnesota

and Jessie was a fucking disaster.

So you and I agree that the NJ gov win and the NYC mayor are going to be terrible.

We are not as far apart as you think.

Although I suspect Trump is soooo happy Mamdani won as that will be his next show (lets fuck the mayor)

Even though it may seem sad, This is the reality, Politics is about self-interest. Big leaders will use you like a tool, according to the leaders' ability, but at the end of the day, you will not get anyone except your own people!

Yes. If there's one thing that's inevitable, it's that we're going to cross paths with some serious politics at some point or other. No telling which 'side' either as all politicians benefit from running the country on funny money. Unfortunately, I'm not as young and ready for the battle as I was 12 years ago.

yeah the push back against Trump is real.

and it looks as if btc is hand and hand with trump.

since he used his so called love of ‘crypto’ to gain votes. 🗳️

Sad to see this happening.

If we do truly tank the left will pile on btc and say its evil and trump made it worse with a ton of blow back.

I am hoping this drop in price is merely a blimp and we take off bigly.

I'm very happy with the reaction to publishing the Hats Gallery after so many years, and knowing that you want to keep moving forward with the updates.

A strong hug to all.

Quite interesting, it's OG's selling their old corn recently, while demand sustains, but not at the spot market.

All in all, we might tank further or longer, but if demand is kept up, we have to go up some point in 2026, because cycle-dogmatic OG's stubbornly selling at a certain date/month in 2025 gave up or have sold enough, it could push up the price.
Could be that those OG's selling are suppressing FOMO by keeping down the price, and it might just be delayed (aka. "cycles are over").

(Sorry for the bad quality, a video screengrab, but the chart reveals quite some interesting information)

I really do not understand the hate for Trump with all the good he has done pertaining to stopping multiple wars which saves lives, closing Biden's wide open border, fighting massive crime in major cities, securing trillions of dollars in new business development for the U.S. from around the world, adopting AI,  advocating for Bitcoin, preserving jobs, lowering gasoline prices, lowering prescription drug prices, etc., etc., etc. Why the hate? Whales are buying the dip, like Trump and even long time anti Bitcoiner Jamie Dimon. These high profile entities will never buy during the initial start of a bear market.

99% of etf's hasn't sold.

Isn't it obvious?

Blackrock and Binance manipulated this dump in order to buy their friend whales cheap meanwhile shaking out OG weakhands and cleansing leveraged retards.

HOLD!
It's time to hold on, I guess. Because the roller coaster ride is about to begin.  Wink

I can see Viscore HODLing, since he has been registered here since November 2015, so perhaps he has had time to accumulate bitcoin over the past 10-ish years..

yet you (Bazzu) have only been registered here since September 2022.. . so you should still be buying. .unless you were able to front-load your investment into bitcoin in the first year or two that you were here.

now at $99k.
HOLD!
It's time to hold on, I guess. Because the roller coaster ride is about to begin.  Wink
I like to see this dump to $50k and see how the weak hands would react.   Grin

Time to test how strong we can HODL here.

You come off as a bit perverted Viscore.. even though there are likely quite a few bitcoin treasury companies that have no back up plans, except that they took investors' money with a plan that bitcoin "only" goes up, which might not work out very well for them if bitcoin does not end up going up.

By the way, my own system allows for buys all the way down to $50k, if we were to go there.  I would likely go crazy otherwise, and yeah, each of the seemingly prepared ones of us has our ways of dealing with both volatility matters and also extremes in either direction, yet sometimes we might not know how prepared we actually are until our systems are put into test.  I don't like those situations, even though I keep buying on the way down, and surely there end up being quite a few folks who get separated from their coins based on their failure/refusal to put strong enough systems into place (and some of those folks do end up being innocent people, but yeah, tough lessons, sometimes.. and any of us can become scared that we might end up being one of the ones who end up getting slaughtered).

I think we might need to go back to the old days to get some results of yesteryear.

Where’s Bob’s rusty pipe?
JJG Thursday’s?
El Duderino fine dining photos?
Somebody needs to publicly mindrust their entire stash?

You might have a valid point this time, even though we know that time stops for no one.. and we cannot roll back the clock...

new times are being created, as we speak.

With 24% capital gains it’s too much of a risk. I sold enough Bitcoin for six years of life expenses. In hindsight I should have sold more over 120k but I thought we would hit at least 150k this year.

Love to be wrong but this looks like frustrated OG’s and four year cycle believers dumping due to lack of bullish price action. It’s causing severe selling pressure. I think the bull run is over.

Clearly I hope it’s not as I become significantly wealthier with uppity price action. I just say what I see though without bias.
With diminishing returns we are witnessing now (Bitcoin went up less than x2 this cycle about x1.8 to be precise), perhaps there is no reason to wait six years to sell? Just to remind, previous cycles' gains were as follows: 2013-2017 x17 (1115 to 19700), 2017-2021 x3.5 (19700 to 69000).

So, if we're lucky we could expect Bitcoin to reach $176400 (40% growth if compared to 80% growth this cycle) in 4 years. This is an optimistic scenario, realistic could be something like $150k or pathetic 129k EUR. Taking into account inflation etc. $150k in 2029 will probably buy you less than $120k or even $100k today.

The times of parabolic pumps are over. Amen.   Cool
I believe the  bull run might be over too.

However,  as you pointed out,  bitcoin price volatility is lower than some years ago. We might ne facing a bear market of prices like 90-100k, and we might reach 120k (ath) sooner than in previous cycles.

We might be facing a much less volatile bear market as well, with prices closer to the ATH. There is a huge buying pressure now from big players.

What you are describing hardly fits a definition to knock us out of our current bull market..   My own framing of the matter is that we are either in a bull market or a bear market, so we are in a bull market until we get kicked out of it.  I don't really have any strong definition, and I surely don't except various traditional definitions of bear versus bull market, since so far, bitcoin does not fit into a categorization of itself as a mature asset class, so in that regards, it has a bit of a unique positioning, and I doubt that it is just going to smoothly fall into some neat categorization and transition into stability and smoothness - those fantasies of bitcoin's transition into stability and smoothness have ongoingly existed in bitcoin since my late 2013 entrance into the space (and from my reading of some posts that were published prior to my actively watching aspects of the bitcoin space).

The more I type, the more I don't buy it.  I don't buy that we are going to have any kind of smooth transition into stability and smoothness.

Sure it could happen, yet I doubt it is has very good odds of happening, especially since exuberance is nearly inevitable, and then there are needs of correction from such exuberance.   It is possible that right now, we go into a crazy ass correction period to flush out the various overleveraged bitcoin treasury companies, yet I am not sure if there is enough froth to sustain such flushing out, and I am not even claiming to know anything, beyond just wanting to state that my ongoing belief remains that one of the most inevitable things in bitcoin remains its volatility, and I am not going to claim to know which direction, even though to me, the odds continue to stay in the bull slot until we are knocked out of such bull slot, which has not yet been achieved from my perspective, however lame it may be.

@BitHodlers - Here's another one that will upset the OG bears that can't handle positive Bitcoin news!
Citi Sees Bitcoin Hitting $181K in 2026
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/citi-sees-bitcoin-hitting-181k-145613777.html
Grin They just continue to panic here and spread doom.

You are projecting again, BitHodlers.

There aren't any meaningful number of panicker WO members in these here parts at this time (and even in the days past), even if some guys seem to have had chosen to take some coin off the table and even if they may well be taking 10x or more off the table than the size of your whole current coin stash size.  That not be called panicking even if you are having troubles imagining the selling of such quantities of coin.

What's up WO,

I've been away for a quite while, spending the last couple of months at our new vacation home.

I'm trying to catch up a bit. I'm not going to read everything I've missed, but reading the posts from the past week, there's a lot of doom and gloom sentiment here.

For crying out loud, we are still above 100k. If anyone told me during the 2022-2023 bear market that we would complain about current prices, I'd just laugh.

100k to me mind blowing, yet I believe we will look back at these prices a few years from now as a total steal.

Trump is about 40% good and 60% bad for me.
Biden was about the same.

Mikie Sherrill seems to be 80-20 bad for me.

Zorhan Mamdani is about 85-15 bad for me.

Most politicians run around 40% for me and 60% bad for me.

I don't like them in general.

what do I like about Trump he appears to be pro BTC.
and he is against illegal aliens.

and I am not bashing Trump I am point out the issues he causes.

bashing Trump is for people like Steven Colbert or Seth Meyers or Jon Stewart.

all of them attack endlessly and quite a bit of the time they just lie.
