I had believed in doge in the early time and loved the developers for it. The community was great but I feel they got to know that it'll be a failure in the long run. I had to take out my money without only a little profit.

I told my friend a long time ago that Dogecoin would not work out. He was buying into the hype at the time and refused to understand that most serious investors won't risk their money on a silly meme based alt-coin, nor will serious developers or even the dark web markets. This is people's lives and reputations at stake, so most are not going to risk making their life's work a joke on top of a joke. That's just the reality of the situation. Dogecoin will definitely fail. That's just my straight forward take on it. Maybe I'm wrong.

Dogecoin is an inflationary coin. While it may have a stable price and be very useful in micro-transaction, it is unlikely to attract speculative investors. So the price is not likely to take off.

Yeah exactly, doge is only good for one thing that is for micro transaction because of its low value. But since it's price is more or less stable I wouldn't be using doge as an investment or for trading purposes. It's a good coin but probably wouldn't go any further than it is right now.

I also fan of Dogecoin. I like it for very cheap and fast transactions.
Dogecoin future isn't bright, but I don't think it will die. Very big supply of coin one of main disadvantages of coin.
Fact that Dogecoin was one of first popular altcoins helps to surive for this coin. Dogecoin peake was when Doge mene was very popular. Now meme is forgotten, coin also lost their positions.
Now I think that Dogecoin now in similar situation like Dogecoin. I think any of these coin will die, but they will never come back to top positions.

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

I agree with you, dogecoin is great way tip others and send micropayments. What happen now with dogecoin is caused by the dogecoin users is stop or decrease spend their coin or not use dogecoin for transactions anymore and (or) they are lazy to trade it on exchanger because the price looks dead (although the volume is still big).

Birth mass of many altcoins may be another factor reduced interest of this coin. Peoples start using some altcoins that good to trade with good fluctuations, good price, and new technology. However, dogecoin will not be die in short time. Many peoples still hold it and beleive it will have a good future.

It attracted more and well-to-life people more interested in making a joke than getting rich from day to night, who preferred to donate their coins to silly and serious causes, rather than collecting huge amounts of digital treasure.

I held for a long time, like 8 months. I bought at 45sats and held hoping for the next bubble, I mean it has happened a few times in the past, why not again!?

Well I have sold out now at 20 sats and accepted my big loss. It just doesn't seem like it is going to happen. I mean peercoin was pumped, namecoin was pumped, DASH Monero ETH go up and down massive amounts all the time, but Doge just slowly falls.

I think it might be over.
