DeepVault DeepVault is a blockchain innovation brought to you by the DeepOnion Development team. DeepVault allows users to determine whether or not a file has been changed or corrupted by enabling hash verification of the file.  Non-technical users:A hash is a random string of characters of fixed length (for example: hello = 2cf24dba5fb0a30e26e83b2ac5b9e29e1b161e5c1fa7425e73043362938b9824, hello1 = 91e9240f415223982edc345532630710e94a7f52cd5f48f5ee1afc555078f0ab). A hash is unique as no two inputs (files or texts) generate the same hash. For instance, hello and hello1 will have completely different hash values as witnessed in the previous example. One use for hashing is the ability to generate the hash of a file. What this means is that the current version of the file is hashed at that moment in time. As previously mentioned, even changing 1 character in the file will generate a completely different hash. This is obviously very useful if you have an important file (such as a legal contract) that you wish to verify its integrity. Upon signing a contract, you could generate its hash using the wallet and store it in the blockchain. You could then check in a few months time that the hash generated earlier matches the current hash of the file. If they match, it means that the file has not been altered and thus the contract is still valid. If they do not match, it means that the file has been altered (if this is a legal document, you need to make sure that someone has not maliciously tampered with it). The benefit of utilising the blockchain is that it is immutable (cannot be changed). That means that when you store the hash, it is available forever and can never be changed. Technical Users:The hash is generated using SHA-256, a current hashing function with no known collisions. The function can also incorporate the user's wallet to provide restriction as to the hash value (a form of cryptographic security). Important:DeepVault is not a file store, it is a hash store. You should take every necessary step to secure your documents from tampering by storing them in a secure location. Thank you for your time and we look forward to answering any of your questions. Picked up some ONIONS on Nova, transferred them to my DeepOnion wallet. How much is coin maturity, if anyone knows?
Also how high does my weight have to get before I start seeing some stakes? Staking seems very hard atm. Cheers!
Coin maturity is about a day, you can stake with as little as 1 onion but that will take a very long time to earn rewards. Just make sure you have unlocked your wallet for staking and you fully synced to the onion network, it will eventually stake but its your weight versus the network. Your weight does increase daily but to increase your weight further you will need to acquire more coin and this will reduce your staking time as well. Hope this helps. On the DO website it says that the interest rate for the POS is 10% for the first year and then 5% for the second year. I was just wondering, is that the first year on "The DeepOnion Project" or the first year you own coins, i.e. does the switch happen on a given date for everyone sometime next year? Good question. I don't know the answer either. Hope someone else can answer this question. I am assuming that is first year for the project, though. It is the first year of the project. At least that's what "staggered" PoS interest rates meant for all other PoS coins that I am familiar with. Anything else would mean that you could potentially just create an arbitrary number of addresses/wallets and keep getting 10% every year that way. |

Wait I am a bit confused. The link just goes to the thread that has been active for a few weeks now. I Pm'ed Xsinx on slack two weeks ago and am still waiting? So is there another thread or can we just post in this one again? Nothing to get confused about mate. here is what i understood from that exact thread about Blacklisted members: It's opened from while to while to receive " complaints " of blocked/blacklisted users, so when there is certain amount reached, it's locked again so mods or Air Drop managers can study each situation one by one. That way they make sure everyone got his fair chance, because (just speculation) if they leave it open since the thread was created, they would've received 10's or even hundreds of complaints, which is kind impossible since everything is done manually. It's a good strategy though to lock the thread from while to while till they finish that " queue " of blocked account owners complaints. |

a very good news for the blacklisted members. there are still lots of blacklisted members who remain very loyal to deeponion and participated in discussions and support even while being blacklisted. i believe these members somewhat earned boss' trust and deserves second chance for airdrop. i hope devs team and mods will take time reviewing most of the members who requested review of their cases. goodluck to all of us! |

i believe there's no need to fork on deeponion when it comes to introducing deepvault, as that feature doesn't affect coin handling. updating the wallet is needed to implement deepvault feature. i suggest you backup the wallet dat file before updating. |

i didn't change the xxxxxx part on my signature to my bitcointalk id so when i applied for the airdrop i got this : We are sorry that your application for DeepOnion airdrop is declined because your account doesn't meet some conditions we required. We thank you for your continuous support of the DeepOnion. so i figured out i had missed changing the signature correctly but now i am blacklisted because of this. There isn't anywhere on the deeponion forum to ask anyone about this so i guess i'm out of the deeponion permanently because of that? Kinda sucks because i am on bitcointalk everyday morning and night. I would have made a good onion recruit haha.
Join the deeponion slack and make,an appeal to xsinx. That's what I did, and hoping I get reconsidered. thanks, i just did that because the thread people were posting linking to deeponion.org for banned ppl was closed to replies. How did you go on your appeal? I'm hoping i can get sorted because i have watched deep onion since i first got into crypto but i always thought i was too late to join in because of my start date. When they changed the rules i was stoked than i messed it up by not filling in the xxxxx with id. Lol. thanks for tip, i will see how the slack appeal goes! |
