4 mod unit 47XX order without PSU - nothing yet, just processing...
Seems the customer who don't want to pay the PSU in a high price finally become the victim of batch#3.

I imagine it is more time consuming for them to test an Avalon ordered without a PSU, because there is an added step of removing the PSU after the burn-in and reassembling the case.
Yeah! Customers time and money loss caused by their delay never worth than a PSU.

That was my original thinking as well when I ordered with a PSU.  I was a little concerned that they would have difficulty managing the 3 vs 4 module assembly lines, but it appears to not be much of a problem.

However... I have since put in a request for a refund... I have since shut down my old GPU rig as my 5870x2 ARES card blew and I was then down to only 800MHs.

Currently hashless \sadface.

Congrats to you all on your tracking numbers guys!  I am vicariously excited for y'all.

My 3 card unit with NO PSU order #69xx is still "processing."

I think this is what they call insult to injury. Back when Batch 3 orders were opened, we were told that we were given the option to specify "no PSU" in order to avoid international shipping problems and get our units faster.

Meanwhile competitor BFL seems to have shipping delays caused by a LACK of adequate power supply stock.

Yet here, I am being PENALIZED for requesting no PSU, AND I have to now pay hundreds of dollars extra for a power supply to go with my Avalon.

Yifu, PLEASE send us our "no power supply" Batch 3 units when you said you would, along with the others. You think any of us who said "no power supply" really give a shit about that? All we want is for our miners to arrive at our doors, that's why we made that choice in the first place.

I'm starting to feel like Batch 3 + No PSU is really Batch 3.5.

with PSU ?

Yes, my 4 mod 47XX units both included PSU.

Forgot to include that.  Sorry to hear that people aren't getting their non-PSU units.  Shouldn't be much longer though, remember it has been a long wait, but the couple of extra days (and seeing as how tracking seems to indicate that as of 24 minutes ago they hadn't left China yet, it might only be 1 extra day or none vs. PSU includced orders), isn't the worst part of this, and soon we'll all be among the few possessing anything like what we used to think of as nearly unimaginable hashing power.  Things could be worse.  Smiley

Damn these morons at Avalon. I have 2 very early batch 3 orders without PSU, and still "processing".

Yifu the big dick must be very proud of himself. I don't like to cuss at someone over the internet, but in this case he deserves all the scorn he gets.

Avalon's actions to me imply that they are trying.  However, they really should give customer updates and improve communication for better transparency.  I would really, really like my trade-in added to my store account.  Its been over 3 months since I sent it off.  I have a batch #3 ordered #768x as well.

This is quite a wait game and the no communication element of it is quite unbearable.

A 4-unit model cost 100 btc, or $7200 at the time of purchase, why are you struggling with this concept?  Huh  Units delivered soon will most likely achieve 100% return in terms of USD but probably not BTC.
That's why I priced it in terms of what BTC would buy today. If you don't do so you don't know if you're earning a return in terms of BTC, which is the only important metric I care about.

#8XXX, 4-module, no PSU. Still processing. I have a change-of-shipping method ticket in as well that hasn't been touched since it was lodged in March.

IMO 'lies' implies intent to defraud. I don't think many will disagree about the amateur bit though.

I think they are shipping just in time.

Looks like the only groups close to adding significant hash is 100TH mine... and that will only push up the difficulty to around 40M. And then it is smooth sailing until October.

I think the Batch 3-ers will just eek out a profit.

Congrats!

And that constant diff rise has nothing to do with BFL shipping backorders, also there will be no Avalon chips assembled, asic miner will stop reducing price and stop shipping thousands of usb erupters, of course Punin will fail to deliver his 400 TH/s units in August. AYFKM?

Wow, 600 bitcoin for 8 units? That's ~500gigahash/sec. ~23% on your investment, which isn't bad if the diff pans out, for sure, although the amount of time needed to achieve ROI based on expected diff increase of 130 days is why I pulled out, because if KNC ships these may never ROI.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't ask for a refund given how tough ROI looks right now. I guess we all have our different assessments of how quickly difficulty is set to increase right about now.

https://i.imgur.com/Qgb0Ohd.png

I look at 600 bitcoin and I see 10 KNC Jupiter miners at 400gh/sec each, that's 4 terahash total and looks like so:

Assuming they do ship in September that's like 400% on your money, with a much more efficient chip as well.

Well, no doubt you know what you're doing! I wish you luck, sir Smiley

Maybe just an oversight in your analysis there, but shouldn't you raise the starting difficulty for your Jupiter calculations to something more like what it would be like in September?

You used the same starting difficulty, when obviously an Avalon in the hand now is the only one of those two that actually will mine at that difficulty.  It would seem to throw off the whole calculation quite a bit if you were to start your Jupiter calculations at something like 50mil+ instead of where you have it now.

To try and keep this on topic, I have an early order (47XX) Avalon, but they are 4 module, and I still see "Processing" as status.  Are we noticing a trend that 4 module machines don't seem to have shipped yet?  Might make some sense out of the out of order shipping...

yes, we are all eeking out our pitiful profits!

the real winners were those who managed to 'pre-mine all the coins' from february to july!!

since then the difficulty has made it less than attractive to continue robbing the very people who financed the entire operation!
